Operations Officer - Babyzone Preston * 8:30am to 3:00pm on Wednesdays in term time * £13.45 per hour * Based at Inspire Vault Youth Zone, Tithebarn Street, Preston, PR1 1DN * Reporting to the Head of Babyzone Preston About Babyzone: Babyzone is a charity which aims to support parents with children in the early years, aged 0 to 5 years. We are focused on removing barriers that many parents face in accessing high quality early years provision. Babyzones are made up of soft play and evidence-based early years classes, one day a week in a clean, safe and welcoming environment. We design our approach around the needs of families who may not otherwise be able to access this support but are open to all. Parents and carers do not sign up in advance; there is no charge and we do not ask for any personal details. We believe that by removing barriers we are creating a fully accessible, inclusive place for parents and carers to bring their children to talk, read, sing and play together. Babyzone Preston is a brand new Babyzone and we hope to be welcoming 180+ families each week as we do in our other Babyzone sites. The role: The Babyzone Operations Officer is the face of Babyzone for our families and is responsible for ensuring that the set up and operations of the Babyzone run smoothly throughout the day. Key activities: * Setting up and packing away Babyzone each Wednesday. This will include preparing the space by moving furniture, adjusting the layout to meet the needs of the families and ensuring that the space is clear of any hazards. * Supporting the external class leads with equipment that is required to deliver the Babyzone each week. * Supporting with the set up and packing away of the exploratory areas/soft play areas and overseeing these areas during the day (making sure there is no food or shoes on the mats, keeping the space tidy, safe and free of hazards). * Setting up and maintaining additional elements such as a book corner and ensuring easy access to buggy parking and the baby-changing facilities. * Personally, welcoming each family to Babyzone, engaging with families and their children throughout the day, facilitating relationships, building community and signposting to local services. * Capturing family numbers by entering basic postcode data into a digital form as families arrive at Babyzone * Acting as a point of contact and problem solver for any issues during the day that are raised by families or class leaders to ensure the smooth running of the Babyzone. * Welcoming external stakeholders to Babyzone * Championing the Babyzone ethos and mission * Meeting regularly with the Head of Babyzone Preston to share good practice Your skills and experience: * You must love engaging with all families and young children * Understand and care about Babyzone’s mission * Be motivated and committed to the Babyzone principles and show sensitivity to the needs of the families who visit Babyzone * Be energetic and proactive, remaining calm under pressure * Value and support everyone who comes into contact with Babyzone with an awareness of, and commitment to equal opportunities, equality and diversity * Have an awareness of the importance of safeguarding children and understand that this is the responsibility of everyone * Be comfortable with the physical demands of moving furniture around and be up for the challenge of a quick set up and close down process * Work effectively as part of a team * Have excellent verbal communication skills Babyzone will offer: * Safeguarding training and DBS check * Training and development opportunities Babyzone is committed to safer recruitment practice as an important part of safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults. Babyzone Bristol Operations Officer About Babyzone At Babyzone, we believe that every child deserves a fair start in life, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our mission is to empower families and their children, from conception to age five, by providing access to high-quality early years learning opportunities that nurture the parent-child bond. The need for support in early childhood development has never been more critical. Babyzone is a charity funded by foundations, philanthropists and trusts, including global venture builder Blenheim Chalcot. We serve families who struggle to access support elsewhere - due to financial, geographic, or cultural barriers - by offering free, evidence-based classes and resources in premium, fully accessible community hubs. With eleven Babyzone Hubs already open across the UK, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our twelfth Babyzone in Bristol! Reporting to the Head of Babyzone, the Operations Officer is responsible for the smooth running of Babyzone delivery days. Their responsibilities will include set-up and operations, front-of-house duties, close-down duties, and additional duties as required. Operations officers will need qualities such as organisational skills, interpersonal communication, problem-solving and flexibility. Key responsibilities: Set-up and operations * Ensure optimal preparation of areas in 224 Youth Zone intended for sessions, including moving furniture, adjusting layout, and other necessary changes; * Support class leaders with the set up and pack down of their equipment; * Support the setup of exploratory play zones, projector feeds, and other elements to create a welcoming and functional environment; * Ensure easy access to essential amenities like pram parking and baby-changing toilets. Front of house * Provide a warm and supportive welcome for all families attending Babyzone; * Explain Babyzone operations and important information to families; * Capture family numbers and basic postcode data as families arrive; * Act as a floating resource to ensure positive experiences for all attendees; * Problem-solve any issues raised by families or class leaders during the day; * Welcome external stakeholders for tours of Babyzone along with the Head of Babyzone. Close down * Assist class leads in packing up all equipment used for exploratory play and classes; * Return 224 Youth Zone areas to original setup; * Ensure all rooms are cleared of any items from Babyzone activities; * Report attendee numbers and any observations/issues to the Head of Babyzone. Additional duties * Supervise and guide additional volunteers, apprentices, or support staff as necessary; * Respond to and action reasonable requests from the Head of Babyzone; * Collect quotes and case studies from parents based on a cadence set by Head of Babyzone. Safeguarding and compliance * Complete all necessary safeguarding training in a timely fashion as directed by the Safeguarding Lead and Head of Babyzone (this is to be completed before starting your first day); * Adhere to safeguarding policies, and maintain a culture of safety for children, families, and staff; * Report any safeguarding concerns to the Head of Babyzone or Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible. * Adhere to all Babyzone policies and procedures. As transaction volumes scale across new markets and products, we need a dedicated manager to lead our first line of defense teams on Financial Crime (Transaction Monitoring, Fraud detection, Regulatory Ops) and structure the quality and operational controls that underpin them. MANAGER & TEAM You will report directly to Julien Molez, Chief Operations Officer. You will manage three teams which are at different levels of maturity:a team of 5 people: a Transaction Monitoring Fraud management and Regulatory Operations. Your team is the first line of defense against money laundering, fraud, and financial crime — operating at the intersection of operational rigor, regulatory compliance, and technology. WHAT WILL YOU DO? As iBanFirst expands across European markets, the financial crime risk landscape grows in complexity. We are looking for an analytically sharp, structured, and operationally driven leader to supervise our TM Financial Crime Operations function, steer it with rigor and precision, embed it in a robust and recognized quality framework, and drive highest level of efficiency through data and automation. Team Management & Operations * Lead and develop the different teams in the scope: set priorities, manage performance, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. * Oversee their daily operations: alert review, case investigation, SAR filing, and escalation processes. * Manage capacity and workload allocation to maintain SLAs and maintain backlogs at constant low levels. Fraud & Financial Crime * Own the fraud detection and prevention framework: typologies, detection rules, investigation workflows, and outcomes tracking * Stay current on financial crime trends and adapt the team's detection approach accordingly Controls & Quality Framework * Design and implement a quality insurance framework for each team, specific to each of them but consistent across domains. * Define and track KPIs: detection rates, false positive ratios, case resolution times, SAR quality. * Conduct regular calibration sessions and quality reviews to maintain consistent, high standards across the teams. Analytics & Automation * Use data to assess the performance of each value chains. For example, on the transaction monitoring side : rules effectiveness, reduce noise, and improve alert prioritization * Work with Product and Engineering teams to constantly improve underlying systems and integrate automation into workflows * Identify opportunities to leverage AI and machine learning to enhance detection and reduce manual effort Regulatory & Reporting * Ensure compliance with Belgian and EU AML/CFT obligations (LCB-FT, EU AML directives) * Produce clear, insight-driven reporting for senior leadership: what the data says, what it means, and what action it warrants * Lead or support regulatory audits and inspections related to TM and fraud * Be the key go-to person for C-Levels for these topics and lead the associated governance meetings.
