A successful candidate will blend their technical expertise, community engagement, and strategic collaboration to enhance our users’ experience and productivity. You will explain how our products can credibly enhance developer productivity in the systems and embedded C/C++ space and advise our product teams based on industry trends and developer feedback. IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL: * Highlight and explain various aspects of our product portfolio via speaking, videos, blog posts, livestreams, sample code, and more. We’re especially looking for someone who can help us cover gaps with video materials.  * Build and maintain relationships and reputation in the industry, with global and regional communities, and on social media. * Work with product teams to provide feedback. * Meet with customers to listen to them and educate them about our offerings. * Speak to the press on behalf of our product offerings. * Contribute as needed to other areas within JetBrains. SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER  Freeform builds AI-native manufacturing systems that unify software, hardware, and physics to produce industrial-scale parts at the speed of human ideation. As a Senior Software Engineer at Freeform, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing critical software systems for our autonomous 3D printing factories. You'll have an opportunity to touch many different aspects of our software ecosystem from hardware control, to high-rate telemetry and big data storage systems, to high-performance compute and machine learning pipelines. Responsibilities: * Architect and develop software for an advanced, production-scale metal 3D printing system * Work with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and physicists to integrate control algorithms into production software * Improve and scale out petabyte-scale, high-rate telemetry, storage, and retrieval systems * Use computer science and engineering fundamentals to solve notoriously challenging algorithmic and optimization problems * Develop high-performance compute solutions using GPU parallel processing * Move fast, innovate, don’t over-engineer things, be a good teammate, be flexible and open to new ideas, and push the bounds of what’s possible   Basic Qualifications: * 5+ years of professional experience in software development * Proficiency in a systems level programming language such as C/C++ or Rust * Experience with high-performance systems software such as hardware control systems, embedded software, high-volume telemetry systems, graphics rendering, or similar  Nice to Have: * Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or computer engineering * 8+ years of professional software development experience * Experience building out backend infrastructure, high-performance storage solutions, streaming processing systems, scientific analysis pipelines and workflows * Experience writing software for industrial automation systems, robotics, or related hardware * Experience with operations systems, computer architecture, or similar computer systems internals * Experience with computer graphics or similar geometry-intensive problems   * Experience operating as a technical lead, driving architectural decisions and mentoring junior engineers  Location: * Based in Hawthorne, our vertically integrated facility brings technology development, R&D, and production together under one roof.
