Job Description We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join Visa Open Banking (VOB), delivering open banking solutions as part of Visa. Visa Open Banking processes billions of events, enabling data-driven decisions for clients and internal stakeholders. As an SRE in the Infrastructure & Tooling area, you will play a key role in ensuring our platforms are reliable, scalable, secure, and easy to use, while empowering engineering teams with self-service tools and automation. This role spans both cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, runtime) and engineering productivity platforms (CI/CD, developer portals, observability), focusing on improving developer experience and overall system resilience. Key Responsibilities: Build and operate reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure platforms across AWS and Kubernetes Develop and maintain self-service tooling and platforms to enable teams to deploy and operate services independently Improve CI/CD pipelines, developer experience, and platform usability Drive observability strategies across logs, metrics, and tracing Automate provisioning, deployment, and scaling using scripting (Python, Go, Bash, etc.) Support engineering teams with best practices in reliability, performance, and cost optimisation Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure platforms align with evolving use cases and requirements Contribute to architecture, standards, and platform designs for large-scale distributed systems Act as a champion for automation, platform engineering, and operational excellence This is a hybrid position. Player Account Management (PAM) Area covers everything related to the management of the player accounts, such as: * Account creation, verification, updates, and closure * Account authentication, controls, and security * User session management * Responsible Gaming A TASTER OF WHAT YOU WILL BE INVOLVED WITH: * Incident & Problem Management: Investigate system incidents, drive Root Cause Analysis (RCAs), and execute long-term remedial fixes. Proactively reduce the number of incidents caused by system changes. * Observability & Metrics: Define and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and success metrics for new initiatives. Build and maintain comprehensive dashboards to achieve observability excellence. * Performance & Capacity: Identify and help resolve performance bottlenecks. Optimize infrastructure and code to maintain fast service, and conduct capacity planning to forecast future hardware or cloud resource requirements. * Availability & Change Management: Guarantee the Platform components remain highly reachable and functional for users. Oversee deployments to ensure new code does not disrupt the existing system. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR * Observability & Monitoring: Deep experience building dashboards and tracking SLAs/SLOs using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Coralogix, Splunk, or Loki. * Programming & Automation: Proficiency in scripting and coding to automate manual tasks (eliminate "toil") and build reliability tools. Strong skills in .NET, Python, Powershell or Bash are highly preferred. * Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Cloud: Experience provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform or Ansible, along with a solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). * Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience scaling and managing distributed systems using Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker. * CI/CD & Change Management: Familiarity with deployment pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Team City, Octopus) to ensure safe, automated rollouts that don't cause incidents. * Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), a calm approach to incident response, and the ability to lead blameless post-mortems. * AWS Cloud infrastructure, CDNs, and other various systems running in multiple data centres and environments * Cloud Application Load Balancer, preferably with experience on AWS ALB * Cloud DNS support such as AWS Route 53, GCP Cloud DNS, or Azure DNS * Experience with Microsoft SQL databases, PostgreSQL, and Couchbase is considered an asset. The role As a Site Reliability Engineer you'll join the founding SRE team in our Head Quarters, sitting within Foundations. You'll own critical services end-to-end and partner across engineering to raise the reliability bar for the entire platform, working closely with teams in Stockholm. *This is a Stockholm -based, 5-day in-office role. We believe building together in person drives better outcomes.
