About the role
As a Nanofabrication Process Technician, you will be a key contributor to Alice&Bob's fabrication capability. Working in a cutting-edge cleanroom, you will execute the fabrication processes that transform wafer designs into superconducting quantum circuits.
You will operate advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment, monitor process quality, and contribute to maintaining a reliable and efficient production environment. Beyond running processes, you will take ownership of selected equipment, helping ensure its availability, performance, and continuous improvement.
Success in this role is measured by the ability to execute wafer fabrication safely, repeatably, and efficiently while contributing to the team's throughput and equipment availability objectives.

Après avoir initialement réalisé la nanofabrication des circuits dans des salles blanches académiques, Alice&Bob passe à la vitesse supérieure en exploitant sa propre salle blanche de prototypage en Île-de-France. Au sein du département Quantum Hardware, l’équipe « nanofabrication backend » joue un rôle central dans le process de fabrication des processeurs quantiques d’Alice&Bob. L’équipe est responsable de : La livraison régulière de puces de test Le développement et l’amélioration des procédés (qualité, sélection de puces…) La gestion des équipements : vérifications quotidiennes, suivi du planning de maintenance, premier niveau de dépannage La sélection, l’installation et la qualification de nouveaux équipements
YOUR (SPACE) MISSION As a Cleanroom Technician at cosine you help build the advanced optical components that will power future space missions. Working at the intersection of precision engineering and space exploration, you handle and inspect ultra-sensitive silicon components that may ultimately become part of a telescope operating hundreds of thousands of kilometres from Earth. This is a role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in precision, and understands that exceptional quality is achieved through attention to the smallest details. Every component you touch has the potential to become part of a space instrument that will operate far beyond Earth for years to come. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will: * Work extensively in a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment, handling delicate and high-value silicon components * Perform inspections and quality checks on silicon plates using standardized procedures and advanced equipment * Support the preparation, stacking and assembly of optical components for space applications * Accurately document inspection results, process data and quality findings according to established procedures * Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists and quality specialists to continuously improve processes and product quality * Take ownership of your work area and contribute to maintaining the highest cleanroom, quality and safety standards YOUR PROFILE We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: * MBO or HBO level education, preferably in a technical, laboratory or manufacturing-related field * A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to delivering high-quality work * Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling fragile and precision-engineered components * Curiosity and a willingness to learn and understand complex technologies and processes * Experience in a production, cleanroom, medical, pharmaceutical or other quality-driven technical environment is a strong advantage * Good communication skills in English; Dutch is considered a plus * Affinity with technology, innovation and the space sector WHAT WE OFFER At cosine, we highly value our employees, and we will support your professional and personal development. Our Quantum Processor Team is seeking a Quantum Design Engineer to support the development of the next generation of processors. This role is focused on quantum chip design and the development of the design workflows that enable scalable processor development. You will contribute to the design and optimisation of on-chip quantum components while also helping to build and maintain the underlying design infrastructure, including PDKs, DRC flows and tapeout generation tools. Working closely with experienced designers and fabrication teams, you will play an important role in supporting the development of our large-scale QPUs. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * Contribute to the development of quantum chip design tools including PDKs, DRCs, tuners and tape-out generation tools. * Own quantum chip design projects for R&D and product development, contributing to the design and optimisation of new quantum processors. * Manage the full development loop for the chips you design, coordinating with fabrication and measurement teams to ensure successful transfer and execution. * Support Foundry customers in designing chips that conform to QuantWare's PDK, providing guidance throughout the design process to meet technical and operational standards. * Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks and recommending enhancements to tools, workflows, and design-to-tapeout processes for improved efficiency. YOUR PROFILE Core Requirements: * MSc or higher level understanding of circuit design and microwave / RF engineering. * Hands-on experience with RF simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS HFSS, Sonnet, or equivalent), with a demonstrated ability to model and optimise microwave structures. * 4+ years of experience in collaborative Python programming. * A solid track record of delivering complex technical projects, demonstrating initiative, autonomy, and an eye for practical impact. * Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. You thrive in a cross-disciplinary environment and are comfortable taking ownership from day one. Bonus Points * Direct experience working with superconducting and quantum circuits. * Familiarity with quantum design and layout tools (such as Qiskit Metal, KLayout, or GDSFactory), as well as CI/CD pipelines. * Knowledge of nanofabrication processes and cryogenic measurement techniques.
