As our user base and global footprint grow dramatically, we have unique support problems resulting from both our type of scale and
the type of businesses we partner with. The Bangalore Finance (SDC) strategy will provide operational leverage and expand our
portfolio of operational capabilities to support the scaled needs for external users and internal Stripe teams.
What you'll do
Joining the Finance team will put you amongst some of the most talented finance and operations leaders in the world. We're looking
for a proven leader to build and lead the fast-growing International Accounting team within our Bangalore Finance. The
International Accounting Manager for the Controllership function will supervise and evaluate a number of legal entity
controllership processes and have experience implementing new systems and tools. This position will suit a person who is a
hands-on manager and excited to assist in managing the monthly close, statistical reporting, compliances, coordinating with the
board to adopt and approve financial statements, indirect tax filings, cash flow forecasting, intercompany accounting, statutory
reporting, consolidation, and audits of all our international subsidiaries and branches. Based in the Bangalore office, you'll be
on the ground floor of this function with an opportunity to set the pace and direction for the future.

ABOUT THE TEAM Stripe's Finance Operations (FinOps) organisation delivers elegant financial services that are efficient, precise, and resilient—yielding a consistent, delightful experience grounded in controllership. Our service pillars span Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel & Expense, Payroll, and Monetisation Operations, with a sixth function—FinOps Strategic Enablement—driving AI adoption, process excellence, and scalable infrastructure across all pillars. Stripe's Bangalore Finance (BFin) hub is the largest concentration of FinOps and Controllership talent at Stripe and is central to our strategy of scaling financial services 10x without a proportional increase in cost or complexity. BFin houses teams responsible for: * Accounts Payable & Vendor Onboarding — end-to-end supplier invoice processing, payments, and vendor lifecycle management * Travel & Expense — T&E policy compliance, employee reimbursements, and corporate card management * Payroll — accurate, timely compensation for Stripe employees across APAC and EMEA * Monetisation Operations — operationalising custom pricing and billing for Stripe's largest enterprise users * Controllership — BLR — accounts receivable support, bank account management, and entity-level financial controls THE ROLE As Head of Finance Operations, Bangalore, you will own the strategic and operational leadership of the entire BFin organisation. You will manage a team of team leads and managers—each running a distinct FinOps pillar—and will be the senior operational voice for Stripe's finance hub in India. This is a builder and operator role. You'll set direction, elevate your managers, improve processes, and build trust with global Finance leadership—all simultaneously. You'll have a direct line to the global Head of Finance Operations and be a key contributor to decisions that shape how Stripe's financial services scale. WHAT YOU'LL DO LEAD AND GROW THE BANGALORE FINOPS ORGANISATION * Own the full people leadership of BFin: manage 4–6 team leads and managers across AP, T&E, Payroll, MonOps, and Controllership, with a combined org of 60–100+ Stripes * Set a clear performance bar, develop your managers' leadership capabilities, and build a culture of ownership, precision, and psychological safety * Actively manage talent density—attract strong candidates, address underperformance decisively, and retain top performers through meaningful development TRANSLATE GLOBAL STRATEGY INTO BANGALORE EXECUTION * Partner with the global Head of Finance Operations to translate Stripe's FinOps strategy into clear BFin operating plans and Stripe OKRs * Ensure every manager in Bangalore understands what they're building toward, how their work connects to company outcomes, and where they have autonomy * Represent BFin's capacity, capabilities, and constraints in global planning; advocate credibly for resourcing decisions DRIVE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE * Own BFin's key service metrics: accuracy rates, processing cycle times, SLA adherence, cost per transaction, and employee satisfaction * Establish a continuous improvement cadence—regularly auditing processes, identifying root causes of friction, and driving structured remediation * Champion Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies as a discipline embedded in culture, not just process documentation * Partner with FinOps Strategic Enablement to identify AI and automation opportunities; fix the process before automating it BUILD SCALABLE INFRASTRUCTURE * Design and maintain the organisational model and operating cadences that will support 2x–10x volume growth without proportional headcount growth * Define and evolve BFin's service catalogue, tiering, and SLAs in coordination with global FinOps leadership * Ensure finance systems, controls, and data quality standards in Bangalore are fit for a public-company-ready financial infrastructure STEWARD RISK AND CONTROLLERSHIP * Embed strong internal controls into every BFin process; partner with Accounting, SOX, and Internal Audit to maintain a robust controls environment * Proactively identify control risks, escalate with appropriate urgency, and own remediation * Maintain compliance with regulatory, tax, and entity-specific reporting requirements across Stripe's India-based legal entities INFLUENCE STAKEHOLDERS AT SCALE * Build trusted partnerships with global Finance Operations leads, Accounting, Legal, HR, and Engineering * Communicate BFin's roadmap, achievements, and blockers with clarity and data—this is Stripe, so you need to write well * Navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive alignment across time zones without escalating unnecessarily WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. To further this important mission, we're building our Accounting team in Bangalore Finance and are looking for someone to help us scale for the future in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities * End-to-end controllership for assigned legal entity(ies), including financial close, statutory reporting, audit readiness, regulatory filings, and adoption with the board or local management * Preparation and sign-off of statutory financial statements and coordination of statutory adoption processes with local boards and directors and external advisors * Manage external auditors and local service providers, setting scope, driving timelines, resolving findings, and maintaining high-quality documentation for audits, reviews, and regulatory inspections * Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, leading complex journal entries, reconciliations, technical accounting assessments, variance analysis, and executive reporting packages * Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of entity-level accounting policies and internal control frameworks, and own SOX and internal control compliance and remediation where applicable * Serve as the primary business partner to Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and regional finance teams on transactions and policy changes that affect the entity's accounting, tax, and regulatory outcomes * Identify, prioritize, and deliver process improvements and automation initiatives that materially increase accuracy, speed, or scalability of entity accounting (RPA, ERP configuration, reporting pipelines, templates, or tooling) * Resolve technical accounting questions and apply US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP judgment — escalate to central technical accounting teams when needed with well-formed recommendations * Provide coaching and mentorship to more junior accounting teammates, and lead cross-functional projects and working groups to improve operating models * Act as a subject-matter expert for entity-level reporting requests, internal and external audits, regulatory inquiries, and management escalations QUALIFICATIONS * Professional accountancy qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 9+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant controllership exposure * Deep hands-on experience with monthly and year-end close, statutory financial statement preparation, external audits, regulatory filings, and variance analysis * Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, and experience applying local GAAP and converging treatments across frameworks * Demonstrated experience owning internal control programs (SOX or similar) and executing control design and remediation * Track record of delivering automation or process simplification at the entity level (ERP, reconciliation tooling, reporting pipeline improvements) * Strong technical and problem-solving skills, advanced Excel ability, and experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, Workiva, Blackline, or similar). ABOUT THE TEAM Stripe is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer to lead our regulatory compliance, financial crimes, and risk operations program in our French Branch. This role sits within the Affiliates pillar of the Financial Crime, Compliance and Risk Oversight (FinCRO) organization, and you'll report to the Chief Risk Officer. You will serve as the formal Chief Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for STEL's French Branch (Succursale en France). You will be the principal decision-maker and strategic lead on regulatory compliance, financial crime and enterprise risk management for the French Branch, serving a critical role in ensuring Stripe's continued safe growth in France. You will be the public face of the compliance team in France and a primary point of contact with regulators, financial partners, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in regulatory compliance, financial crimes and ERM in France, and a proven track record building and evolving tech-forward compliance programs in a regulated financial services or payments environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO RESPONSIBILITIES * Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a robust and scalable compliance strategy for the French Branch aligning with STEL's FinCRO objectives and business goals, leveraging AI, data science, and automation wherever possible. Drive a culture of compliance and sound regulatory risk management within the French Branch as Stripe expands its product offerings. Provide regular reporting and updates to Branch management regarding the health and effectiveness of the compliance programs. * AML/CFT Program Oversight: Own and enhance the Branch AML, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption programs, including the end-to-end suspicious transaction/activity reporting processes. Ensure the financial crime program is designed to efficiently and effectively prevent, detect, and report money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. * Tracfin Designated Officer: Serve as the Branch's formally designated Déclarant Tracfin and Correspondant Tracfin. File Déclarations de Soupçon (DS) directly with Tracfin and manage all Tracfin information requests (Droits de Communication) within prescribed timeframes. * Compliance Program Oversight: Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable French licensing conditions, payment services regulations, and broader French financial services laws. Monitor the regulatory environment for changes, assess business impact, and drive timely implementation of compliance obligations. Maintain a regulatory obligations register and own the internal compliance assurance framework. * Regulatory Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial regulators in France and an ambassador to the industry in the country. Lead regulatory engagement including new regulatory consultations and ongoing supervisory relationships. Engage with regulatory bodies on Stripe's behalf and serve as a thought leader for technology-focused compliance solutions, representing Stripe in external forums and groups to help modernize regulatory expectations for the fintech era. * Advisory & Consultation: Ensure Stripe's global regulatory compliance, financial crimes and ERM frameworks, policies, and controls (e.g., KYC, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, risk assessment, training, testing) are fit for purpose for local requirements in France. Monitor product launches and business model changes to ensure Branch compliance programs reflect new developments, including timely regulatory notifications. Provide expert guidance to business stakeholders on market expansion, product development, and operational changes to ensure compliance by design. * Governance and Reporting: Oversee drafting and implementation of local policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure licensing commitments and legal conditions are met. Manage production of regulatory compliance performance reports for Branch management. * Audit and Issue Management: Lead responses to audits and regulatory assessments. Own remediation of findings and develop corrective action plans in partnership with relevant business owners. * Training and Culture: Champion a strong compliance culture across the French Branch.
