Parloa’s mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As
agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience, one where customer support is no
longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between
global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and
TUI already deploying Parloa at scale.
Parloa's platform is only as trustworthy as the infrastructure beneath it. As enterprises commit their most sensitive customer
conversations to our system, the cloud foundation, network topology, and deployment architecture that carry those workloads must
be reliable, scalable, and operated with precision. That foundation is yours to build and lead.
As Engineering Manager for Infrastructure Platform, you'll shape how a fast-scaling AI company designs, provisions, and evolves
the infrastructure that powers everything. Your team owns the landing zone, network topology, global traffic routing, IaC modules
for self-service provisioning, and enterprise IT integrations. You'll be the person our product engineering teams rely on when
they need infrastructure to move as fast as they do, and the person our enterprise customers trust when they need to know the
platform is built to last.
If you want to define what world-class cloud infrastructure looks like inside an AI-native company scaling to global enterprise,
this is it.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Doctolib's Automation Platform (AUTOP) team, which empowers all Doctolib engineers to build, test, and deploy software with confidence and speed. As part of the Platform organization, Autop’s mission is to build and maintain the automation infrastructure and developer tools that enable our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently. Every feature shipped at Doctolib — from appointment booking to teleconsultation to AI-powered clinical tools — flows through AUTOP's automation infrastructure. We're the platform behind the platform. When product teams ship faster, safer, and with more confidence, it's because AUTOP built the rails they run on. AUTOP (Automation Platform) is responsible for critical developer-facing systems including: CI/CD automation, testing infrastructure (unit, integration, E2E, contract, visual regression), local and ephemeral development environments, release management, dependency management, and developer productivity tooling. WHAT YOU WILL DO As the Engineering Manager for AUTOP, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: PEOPLE LEADERSHIP * Build and lead a high-performing team of 6 engineers who are passionate about developer productivity; * Create a culture where engineers own outcomes, not tasks — where platform adoption and developer satisfaction are the north stars; * Recruit, mentor, and retain top platform engineering talent in a competitive market; * Conduct impactful 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations that help engineers reach their full potential. TECHNICAL STRATEGY & EXECUTION * Define and drive the technical vision for your team's domain (CI/CD, testing infrastructure, developer environments, or release automation); * Make high-impact technical decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability and scale; * Set the bar for automation, quality, reliability, and security — your systems must be highly reliable because 800 engineers+ depending on them daily; * Champion a "Platform as a Product" mindset: treat internal developers as customers, measure adoption and satisfaction, iterate based on feedback; * Partner strategically with product teams, Infrastructure Platform, and Applicative Platform to solve cross-cutting challenges; * Drive measurable improvements in developer productivity metrics: build times, deployment frequency, test reliability, time-to-production… supporting Doctolib teams to monitor their metrics (DORA, performance, costs, etc). IMPACT & INFLUENCE * Be a visible technical leader across the organization — your team's work enables everyone else's success; * Influence engineering culture: establish best practices, contribute to technical strategy beyond your team; * Navigate ambiguity and lead through influence, not authority — platform adoption requires trust and advocacy, not mandates. About our tech environment * Our automation platform supports a hybrid architecture: a large Ruby on Rails monolith and an expanding ecosystem of modern microservices (Java, Kotlin, TypeScript) * We maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, testing frameworks across multiple languages, and infrastructure-as-code solutions * Our systems handle thousands of CI builds daily, manage comprehensive test suites across multiple languages, and manage deployments across multiple environments for 200+ development teams * Our stack includes: Ruby, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and various testing frameworks * We intentionally leverage AI to improve developer productivity and reliability, in a sustainable manner . WHO YOU ARE Before you read on — if you don't have the exact profile described below, but you feel this job description matches your skill set, we still encourage you to apply. * 6+ years of software engineering and 3+ years managing technical teams — you have a proven experience and know what great engineering looks like * Deep platform engineering expertise: CI/CD, developer tooling, automation, testing infrastructure, or internal platforms * Track record of building "Platform as a Product" — you've driven adoption, measured impact, and iterated based on developer feedback * Strong stakeholder management — you can influence without authority, build coalitions, and navigate complex organizational dynamics * Proven ability to balance technical depth with people leadership — you can code-review a Terraform module and coach a report through a difficult conversation * Fluent in English and comfortable influencing across a multi-country organization NOW IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC IF YOU: * Are passionate about developer experience and understand what makes engineers productive and happy * Have an entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and building the plane while flying it * Have experience managing distributed or remote teams across time zones * Have background in healthcare, regulated industries, or mission-critical systems where reliability and security are non-negotiable WHAT WE OFFER * A Deutschlandticket (Germany-wide public transport pass) fully paid for by Doctolib * 28 vacation days + 1 additional day for each full calendar year of employment (up to a maximum of 30 days) * Work from abroad for up to 10 days per year thanks to our flexibility days policy * Company health insurance with great supplementary benefits through our partner Allianz * Company pension scheme (bAV) through Allianz with an employer subsidy of 40% (15% within the probationary period) * Enrollment in Doctolib's long-term employee value sharing plan called DoctoGrowth * The Doctolib Parent Care program, which includes one month additional parental leave and much more * Free mental health and coaching services through our partner Moka.care * Subsidized sports membership through our partner Urban Sports Club * A flexible workplace policy offering both hybrid and office-based mode * Alongside healthy snacks and our regular breakfast buffet, we provide a subsidized meal benefit * For caregivers and workers with disabilities, a package including an adaptation of the remote policy, extra days off for medical reasons, and psychological support THE INTERVIEW PROCESS * Recruiter Interview * System Design Interview * Behavioral Interview * Engineering Manager Case Study * At least one reference check JOB DETAILS * Permanent position * Full Time * Based in Berlin * Hybrid position 3 days/week in the office * Start date: As soon as possible If you would like to find out more about tech life at Doctolib, feel free to read our latest Medium blog articles! ABOUT PARLOA Parloa’s mission is to make every customer conversation feel effortless for both customers and the companies serving them. As agentic AI accelerates, Parloans are shaping the foundation of a new era in customer experience - one where customer support is no longer transactions, but meaningful exchanges. It is not just a vision; Parloa has powered over ONE BILLION interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers, with companies like Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI already deploying Parloa at scale. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Infrastructure Platform team owns the foundation that every other engineering team at Parloa builds on: cloud infrastructure, provisioning and orchestration, CI/CD, and the runtime environments that our AI agents execute in. Its current flagship initiative, Deployment Stamps, is re-platforming how Parloa delivers isolated, reliable, and compliant environments across public cloud and customer-owned private cloud and on-premises infrastructure. We are looking for a Staff or Principal Product Manager to own the product management for this team. This is one of the most technical product roles at Parloa. You will not be writing user stories for a UI, you will be shaping the architecture-adjacent product strategy for a platform whose "customers" are largely internal engineering teams and the most demanding enterprise security, compliance, and infrastructure stakeholders on the other side of the table. This is a builder role in a domain where the playbook is still being written. If you want to define what "good" looks like for enterprise-grade AI infrastructure, data residency and sovereignty, isolation, and a multi-cloud operating model, and you are energized by deeply technical problems and technical stakeholders, this is it. A note on background: We have a strong preference for candidates who have spent time as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or senior engineer before moving into product. This domain rewards genuine technical depth and the instinct to earn trust with engineers by speaking their language. A former EM who has since developed strong product judgment is exactly the profile we have in mind. AREAS OF OWNERSHIP: * Own the Infrastructure Platform product strategy and roadmap: translating reliability, isolation, data-residency, and multi-cloud goals into a sequenced, outcomes-driven plan that engineering can execute against. * Be the voice of internal and enterprise customers: your primary users are Parloa engineering teams (developer experience, deployment, runtime) and your most demanding external stakeholders are enterprise CISOs, CIOs, and infrastructure leaders with strict compliance and sovereignty requirements. * Drive discovery and write the PRDs that frame outcomes (isolation, compliance, availability) without over-prescribing implementation, then partner with engineering leads and architects to pressure-test feasibility and trade-offs. * Own the hard prioritization calls: balancing near-term delivery milestones against longer-term architecture evolution, and making explicit, defensible decisions about scope, sequencing, and risk. * Define and track the metrics that matter for a platform: availability and SLA attainment, provisioning lead time, deployment frequency, change-failure rate, adoption by internal teams, and developer satisfaction. * Establish mechanisms, not just features: repeatable processes for region readiness/certification, release management, and cross-team alignment that scale as the platform grows from a handful of environments to many. * Align a broad, technical stakeholder set: Engineering, Architecture, Security, Legal/Compliance, and the customer-facing teams (Deployment, Sales Engineering) who need to position the platform's capabilities to enterprise accounts. * Connect the platform to revenue: articulate how infrastructure capabilities (e.g., data residency, private cloud, isolation tiers) unlock enterprise deals, new regions, and expansion, and feed that back into prioritization. * Communicate clearly across technical and business contexts: equally comfortable in an architecture review and in a leadership readout. WHO YOU ARE: * A technical-leadership background. 7+ years of combined engineering and product experience for Staff (L4); 10+ years with demonstrated product leadership for Principal (L5). Prior experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or senior/staff engineer is strongly preferred. * Deep infrastructure fluency. Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP), Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, networking, identity/auth, and observability. You can read an architecture diagram, follow a design trade-off, and hold your own with principal engineers. * Platform product judgment. You understand the difference between building a feature and building a platform capability, and you instinctively design for reusability, operability, and the long-term developer experience rather than one-off solutions. * Comfort with ambiguity and complexity. You can take an under-defined, multi-team initiative with competing constraints and bring clarity, sequencing, and momentum, designing and delivering long-term solutions with limited oversight. * Strong product fundamentals. Discovery, roadmapping, writing crisp PRDs and narratives, defining measurable success criteria, and running a disciplined delivery process with engineering. * Stakeholder leadership and influence without authority. A track record of aligning engineering, security, and business stakeholders around a shared technical direction and resolving contentious trade-offs. * Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to audiences of varying technical depth, from engineers to enterprise security reviewers to company leadership. * An ownership mindset and bias for action: you take responsibility for outcomes end-to-end and move with appropriate urgency. NICE TO HAVE * Direct experience with enterprise data residency, sovereignty, or compliance requirements (e.g., regulated industries, regional data boundaries). * Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid / on-premises delivery, and the patterns (and pitfalls) of orchestration at scale. * Experience building internal developer platforms and applying Team Topologies / platform-as-a-product thinking. * Background in B2B SaaS infrastructure, cloud, or developer-tools companies. * Exposure to AI/ML platform or runtime infrastructure. OUR RECRUITING PROCESS: Recruiter Interview → Hiring Manager Interview → 360° Interviews → Case Interview → Bar Raiser Interview WHY PARLOA? We’re at the beginning of a new era in customer experience, one where AI doesn’t just respond, but understands, reasons, and takes action. We’re building agentic AI that enterprises trust with their most important customer moments: complex questions, high volumes, real stakes. When millions of people reach out to a brand, those interactions aren’t just support tickets; they’re defining experiences. We’re here to raise the standard: making every conversation seamless, intelligent, and genuinely helpful. If you care about shaping how businesses and customers connect at scale - and want your work to matter in real, everyday moments - this is where you do it. At Parloa, ownership isn’t a buzzword; it means being accountable for outcomes, not just tasks. We operate in a category that’s evolving fast, where the bar is high, and the problems are complex. We hire people who think in solutions, communicate with clarity, and follow through. People who are comfortable making decisions, taking responsibility, and raising the standard for themselves and those around them. We’ve grown beyond the earliest startup phase, but we’ve kept the intensity: fast execution, direct feedback, and a strong expectation to contribute meaningfully from day one. Backed by leading global investors like General Catalyst, EQT Ventures, and Altimeter Capital, we’re scaling with a clear ambition: to become the global category leader in enterprise-grade conversational AI. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parloa is committed to upholding the highest data protection standards for our clients' and employees' data. THE MISSION: PLATFORM AS A PRODUCT Your mission is to bridge the gap between "infrastructure" and "developer success". You will transform our platform from a set of tools and processes into a cohesive internal product. You will lead a team of engineers through a period of growth and establish a "paved road" that allows our product teams to ship with zero friction. THE IMPACT: DRIVING HIGH-VELOCITY DELIVERY You aren't inheriting a fixed roadmap or team, you are shaping it! Working together with our Staff Engineer, you will define what good looks like and how to become a high performing team. You will oversee delivery timelines, scope and are not afraid of making highly impactful decisions. You don’t care about the ticket throughput, you care about work done. * Ambiguity: You are not afraid of working with ambiguous requirements and turning them into concrete deliverables. You are comfortable making trade-off decisions and understand that “perfect is the enemy of done”. * Team Evolution: You act as a coach and a talent magnet. You will be responsible for the growth, performance, and structure of the Platform unit, ensuring we have a vocal, collaborative, and high-performing culture through continuous learning. * Raise the Bar: You drive Platform excellence, may it be developer experience, infrastructure or SRE. Communication: You communicate regularly with the other Engineering Managers, manage their expectations and hold them accountable for delivery dependencies. THE PROFILE: THE PRACTICAL STRATEGIST We are looking for a leader who builds high-performing teams. Whether your background is in Platform, Backend, or Data Engineering, you are someone who thrives on solving "the hard stuff", is motivated to educate themself and never leaves a job 80% finished. This is your chance to shape a Platform Domain from the ground up. * High Agency: You don't wait for permission to fix a glaring problem. You build the business case, get the buy-in, and get it done. * Execution-Focused: You have a track record of taking complex initiatives across the finish line. You understand that "80% done" is often where the most critical technical debt lives, and you have the discipline to drive projects to true 100% completion. * Strong opinions, weakly held: You have strong opinions on how things should be done, but you are Okay to disagree and commit in order to move forward.
