RESPONSIBILITIES: ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS * Support in the development and implementation of the corporate ESMS, ensuring adequate cascading across all AE portfolio of projects at all stages * Oversee and support in the development of project-specific ESMSs to ensure alignment with ESIA, ESAP, employer requirements, investors, and lenders’ requirements * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international, regional, and local environmental and social standards and legislation, as well as rapidly evolving ESG frameworks and requirements * Coordinate/interface with internal resources or external consultants accordingly * Support in the required tasks to obtain and maintain ISO certifications * Environmental and Social Studies and Assessments * Conduct E&S screening assessments of potential investment opportunities at origination stage * Conduct E&S due diligence assessments, both internally and coordinating third party assessments by E&S consultants of potential investment opportunities * Support in the preparation of tenders, evaluation of proposals and selection of specialised consultants to perform ESIA studies and other related studies for projects * Coordinate the tasks of the E&S consultants, monitor the progress of the ESIA process and review deliverables, to ensure Project requirements are fulfilled on time, budget and with the right quality and up to the required standards (Corporate requirements and Lender standards) * Coordinate with the technical, project finance and investment team as well as in-country teams for the planning, execution and timely consideration of requirements * Support in the interface with Lenders E&S teams and Lenders E&S advisors * Coordinate required E&S activities at country level, directing local E&S representatives across all relevant E&S aspects including the process of land acquisition where applicable * Preparation of E&S components of tender submissions, evaluation and negotiation of E&S / QHSE contractual obligations with EPC / Suppliers / BOP and O&M contractors Project Planning, Execution & Operations * Provide early environmental and social support with planning and relevant consent applications * Guide and manage the development of the Project-specific ESMMPs by the EPC / Suppliers / BOP and O&M contractors in line with applicable ESG compliance framework * Oversee and monitor E&S performance of EPC / Suppliers / BOP and O&M contractors through site inspections, progress meetings, review of documentation and performance indicators for Projects under construction and operation * Oversee the process followed by the Contractor to identify, correct and prevent incidents, accidents, non-conformances and grievances * Develop monthly, quarterly and annual E&S internal and external monitoring reports * Maintain strong liaison with the Project team at Corporate level, Country level and Project level * Work closely with internal (QHSE, technical, investments, contracts, legal) & external stakeholders to identify and address E&S risks, and material & emerging issues * Coordinate required E&S activities at country level, directing local E&S representatives * Communicate project requirements, environmental & social procedures and standards to relevant parties and oversee their implementation * Balance works to be completed internally or sub-contracted Social Development & Investment * Support the development of the ‘social investment’ strategy in line with best international practice and specific operating guidelines (e.g. in human rights, community development framework, stakeholder engagement strategy) * Support the identification, assessment of feasibility, development, and implementation of social investment initiatives and projects across the AE portfolio, including activity steps, resourcing, budget requirements, and timelines * Manage and monitor the successful implementation of social investment initiatives while providing guidance, direction, and supervision of local E&S representatives; support them on engagement with local communities, including consultation and disclosure events, community meetings, evaluating, reporting, and resolving community grievances, and providing feedback to communities on issues * Participate in and monitor the implementation of stakeholder engagement plans * Establish collaborative and positive relationships with different stakeholders, particularly with local communities QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Environmental discipline, Engineering, International Development or equivalent experience Master’s degree in relevant subject Preferred Experience: * Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a similar role * Previous experience with a Developer, an E&S Consultancy, a development financial institution and/or international construction company * Significant experience in front-end environmental and social studies and assessments, particularly for renewable energy assets and preferably in wind and solar PV technologies * Significant proven experience in the development of ESMS including environmental, health & Safety, labour, social and quality management plans * Extensive experience working with IFC Performance Standards on Environmental & Social Sustainability, EBRD E&S Policy, EIB E&S Standards and E&S frameworks of development financial institutions and/or multilateral banks * Previous experience in emerging markets is a must, preferably in MENA and/or Western Balkans Job Specific Skills: * Proven ability to work in a team, self-motivated, with a collaborative and committed attitude and strong capacity to influence others while being diplomatic * Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders/parties * Quality focused with a strive for excellence and demonstrated report writing skills * Shares ideas and expertise proactively, provides feedback constructively, and demonstrates receptiveness to new thinking * Strong sense of ethics and integrity * Passionate about environmental protection and socio-economic development, with a strong affinity for working with communities and understanding of cultural sensitivities * Profound understanding of business impact on society/ecosystems and vice versa through previous multi-disciplinary experience (e.g. NGO, government, and corporate) * Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Other spoken languages (i.e. Serbian, ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the employee may be required to perform duties outside of those mentioned as operationally required and at the discretion of the Line Manager. The role holder takes primary ownership of transaction execution, deputising for senior team members where required, and plays a leading role in origination, fundraising and client relationship management, while managing and developing the Analysts, Associates and Senior Associates and acting as a role model for professional standards and technical excellence across the team. Key Responsibilities:  Investment research, process and monitoring activity, including: * Leading origination of infrastructure investment opportunities, building and maintaining a network of GP and co-investment relationships to source new deal flow * Directing screening and due diligence workstreams, including sector and market analysis, and coordinating input from advisors and internal specialists * Reviewing and stress-testing detailed financial models (including discounted cash flow, project finance and LBO analyses as relevant) prepared by junior team members, and overseeing the team's modelling output * Owning the preparation and presentation of investment materials for internal and external committees, including investment theses, downside cases, sensitivities, and key risks and mitigants * Leading transaction execution and closing, including process management, negotiation support, and Q&A workstreams run by junior team members * Directing ongoing monitoring of co-investments and the wider investment portfolio, including quarterly reporting, KPI tracking and portfolio analytics, and escalating emerging risks and opportunities Marketing & Client Service: * Supporting on presentations to prospects and playing a senior role in client update meetings * Participation at the Pantheon Annual Investor Meeting and other client events * Contributing to fundraising materials and taking ownership of responses to investor and consultant requests  External Relations, including: * Speaking and preparing journal papers * Representing the business at industry associations and conferences  Team management and broader platform involvement: * Management, supervision and development of Senior Associates, Associates and Analysts, including acting as a role model and mentor to junior team members * Contributing to firm-wide initiatives and strategic projects outside core team responsibilities Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and Pantheon policy (including reporting compliance risks and maintaining appropriate standards of conduct) Knowledge and Experience Required: * Significant relevant experience (typically 8+ years) in infrastructure, energy, renewables, utilities, digital infrastructure, transport, or broader private markets investing, corporate finance, advisory, or asset management, with a demonstrated track record of leading investment execution * Prior experience gained either with a GP, financial institution or advisory firm * Advanced financial modelling capability, including critically reviewing and stress-testing complex models built by junior team members, structuring sensitivities, and delivering clean, decision-ready outputs at pace * Strong command of valuation and deal mechanics, including drivers of returns, financing structures, and key diligence workstreams, with a proven ability to identify and mitigate transaction risk * Track record of leading transaction execution end-to-end, including negotiation, legal documentation, and closing * High level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and judgement * Bachelor's degree or equivalent highly desirable in a numerate discipline (finance, commerce or business-related, maths, physics or engineering) * MA or MSc in a numerate discipline, MBA, or CFA would be advantageous * FSA qualifications would be preferable * Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, with strong attention to detail and a high standard of formatting and presentation * Practical, hands-on user of AI tools, with a demonstrated ability to integrate them into private equity investment processes * Willingness to travel as required Skills & Attributes * Analytically curious and rigorous, with a strong grasp of infrastructure sub-sector fundamentals * Sound commercial judgement, able to form, defend, and refine an investment view using data and clear logic * Clear communicator, able to translate analysis into concise materials for senior decision makers and investment committee members * Highly organised executor, comfortable running parallel workstreams, tracking detail, and delivering under time pressure * Professional and confident with counterparties and advisors in meetings and diligence interactions * Motivated by a fast-paced deal execution environment, able to perform under pressure with limited supervision * Strong problem solving, influencing, and relationship building skills across internal teams and external stakeholders * Demonstrated team management and training capabilities This job description is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
