Role purpose
You will work together with our project team as an owner for Mechanical design -taking a data-centre project from early concept through detailed design, procurement, construction support and handover, while staying aligned to EcoDC’s reference architectures and governance. You’ll lead technical due diligence (TDD) for mechanical scope, drive vendor selection, and make pragmatic trade-offs across performance, resilience, maintainability and cost.

Role purpose You will work together with our project team as an owner for electrical design - taking a data-centre project from early concept through detailed design, procurement, construction support and handover, aligned to Eco Data Center's reference architectures and governance. You’ll lead technical due diligence (TDD) for electrical scope, drive vendor selection, and make pragmatic trade-offs across resilience, protection philosophy, maintainability and cost. What you’ll own · End-to-end electrical fitout workstream plan, deliverables and decision log · Electrical interfaces across UPS, switchgear, generators, BMS/EPMS, fire and commissioning · TDD responses for electrical scope with traceable assumptions and evidence · Equipment and vendor strategy: specifications, bid evaluations, clarifications, FAT/SAT input · Design issue resolution during construction (RFIs, changes, non-conformance, energisation readiness) Key responsibilities · Lead the electrical design from early phase through construction, ensuring outputs are buildable, operable and maintainable · Produce and defend electrical design decisions (topology, redundancy, protection philosophy, short-circuit considerations, maintainability) · Translate customer requirements into robust fitout solutions, including options analysis and cost/benefit trade-offs · Write technical specifications and RFQs for major electrical packages; run structured bid evaluation and clarification processes · Act as technical representative with suppliers: clarification logs, performance criteria, testing/acceptance inputs · Control technical scope and change: identify risks early, prevent scope creep, drive decisions and closures · Work effectively in Nordic delivery environments: clear cadence, transparent stakeholder comms, pragmatic decision-making Typical electrical scope (indicative) · MV/LV distribution architecture and interfaces · Switchgear and protection/coordination intent (as required by project stage and governance) · UPS integration, generator interfaces, power quality considerations · Earthing/bonding philosophy and resilience considerations · Controls and monitoring interfaces (BMS/EPMS), alarms, commissioning readiness inputs · Energisation planning support and handover documentation requirements Key interfaces · CTO / technical governance (alignment to principles, waivers where needed) · Mechanical technical lead (cooling loads, sequencing, controls interfaces) · Controls/BMS/EPMS stakeholders (monitoring, alarms, integration approach, commissioning strategy) · Project/construction leadership (schedule, risks, changes, installation constraints, energisation readiness focus) · Procurement and key vendors (technical packs, evaluation, testing/acceptance criteria) What good looks like in the first 90 days · Electrical workstream plan established with dependencies, interfaces and decision gates · TDD responses delivered with strong traceability, timely closures and minimal rework · RFQ/spec packs issued for priority packages; bid evaluation framework running cleanly · Clear interface agreements across UPS/switchgear/generators/BMS/EPMS and site delivery teams · Practical construction support cadence in place (RFI triage, change control, energisation readiness focus) Experience and capabilities · Proven ownership of electrical design on mission-critical projects (data centres strongly preferred) · Deep electrical discipline expertise and confidence leading technical reviews and design decisions · Strong procurement and vendor management experience (specs, bid evaluations, technical clarifications) · Evidence-led communication: assumptions, options and rationale that stand up in review · Structured problem-solving under schedule pressure; comfortable managing high-stakes trade-offs · Strong collaboration style across multi-discipline teams and site delivery stakeholders

Experience in mechanical or electrical simulations is a plus. Knowledge of transformer or transformer component design is an advantage As a person you have great teamwork capabilities, and you see challenges as an opportunity and take on new tasks with a positive spirit. You are reliable and responsible; taking ownership, follow up projects tasks when needed and can easily communicate with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires good communication skills; English is required, but being able to communicate in Swedish is however a great advantage since you will work together with different departments and other persons of interests. The opportunity As an R&D Quality Engineer, you will ensure quality excellence across New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and enhancements to the active product portfolio. Reporting to the TC Quality Manager, you will partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and certification teams to ensure products are designed, validated, and released in full compliance with internal processes and external standards. This role is ideal for a hands‑on quality professional with engineering mindset who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and international R&D environment. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines. How You’ll Make an Impact Lead quality execution across NPI projects, from concept and feasibility through product qualification, certification, and release, ensuring milestones, deliverables, verification, and validation requirements are met. Integrate quality requirements into project planning, ensuring quality objectives are clearly defined, understood, and embedded throughout all development phases for new and existing products. Drive proactive quality risk management, facilitating DFMEA, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and reliability assessments; define critical‑to‑quality (CTQ) characteristics and support development of Quality Control Plans. Support and coordinate internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, ensuring audit readiness, tracking findings, and driving timely closure of corrective actions. Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) related to NPI issues, problem reports, and design changes, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor project quality performance, identify gaps in quality planning or execution, capture lessons learned, and proactively recommend improvements to strengthen future projects and processes. Your Background Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant work experience from related field. Understanding of Quality Management Systems and structured NPI frameworks (e.g., Stage‑Gate, APQP). Knowledge regarding FMEA, DFM/DFA, PPAP, RCA, and other core quality tools. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional and international teams. Proactive, analytical, and solution‑oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement. Ability to travel internationally is expected in the role.
