About the job   Keep Graphcore’s Bristol electronics laboratories ready for the teams building the future of AI compute. As Electronics Laboratory Lead, you will own the safe, reliable operation of our Bristol labs. You will make sure facilities, equipment and infrastructure support critical work across engineering and operations. Your impact will be felt across hardware bring up, validation, characterisation, manufacturing technology and product test. You will turn complex lab requirements into controlled, dependable environments where teams can move faster. You will manage test equipment, lab infrastructure, ESD controls, goods in and out, maintenance planning and technical readiness. You will also build and guide a technician team that supports multidisciplinary lab users. This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership. You will shape how our labs run, scale and support Graphcore’s next stage.   The team and culture   You will sit in our DC Engineering Team, working closely with Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Test and Diagnosis, Infrastructure Solutions and Hardware Engineering. Work happens through clear priorities, practical decisions and direct collaboration with the teams using the labs. You will have the ownership to set standards, improve processes and solve problems before they slow delivery. Decisions are made close to the work, with safety, technical readiness and pace all held together. Graphcore teams think big, act fast and speak up. Working as part of the Laboratory team, you will help maintain a safe, organised and reliable electronics lab environment, supporting cross-functional teams with equipment setup, preventative maintenance, asset control, ESD checks and technical documentation.   THE TEAM The Laboratory team supports the installation, maintenance, repair and modification of electronic systems, cables and equipment within Graphcore’s laboratories. The team works closely with engineering groups to help set up test benches, troubleshoot routine lab issues and ensure that equipment is safe, available and operating reliably. The team also maintains technical documentation, manages tools, assets and test equipment, and contributes to efficient, high-quality laboratory operations.   RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES · Support the installation, setup and calibration of electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power supplies and related laboratory equipment. · Carry out preventative maintenance activities to help keep laboratory equipment available, safe and reliable. · Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment in line with health and safety requirements. · Check and maintain ESD countermeasures, escalating issues where corrective action is required. · Support asset management activities, including tracking tools, equipment and laboratory assets. · Manage goods in/out processes for laboratory equipment, components and related materials. · Support engineering teams with test bench setup, equipment configuration and technical readiness for hardware bring-up, validation and characterisation activities. · Help create and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions and technical guidance for laboratory users. · Provide practical support to laboratory users, including guidance on safe equipment use and routine lab processes. · Support engineering teams with board, cable and wire modifications, following agreed procedures and quality expectations. · Maintain accurate records for equipment, maintenance activity, assets and laboratory processes. · Identify routine laboratory issues and work with colleagues to resolve or escalate them promptly.   CANDIDATE PROFILE ESSENTIAL: · Experience working in an electronics laboratory or similar technical environment. · Strong practical understanding of electronic test equipment, including setup, calibration and basic troubleshooting. · Awareness of ESD controls and safe working practices in an electronics lab environment. · Ability to follow technical procedures accurately and maintain clear records. · Practical experience supporting equipment maintenance, lab organisation or asset tracking. · Good attention to detail, with a focus on quality, safety and reliability. · Clear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering and operations teams. · A proactive and organised approach to managing tasks and supporting laboratory users. DESIRABLE · Experience supporting hardware bring-up, validation or characterisation activities. · Experience with soldering, rework, cable assembly or board-level modifications. · Familiarity with calibration processes, asset management systems or goods in/out processes. · Relevant technical qualification in electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline. · Experience working in a semiconductor, electronics, computing hardware or high-technology R&D environment. · Familiarity with laboratory quality processes, equipment documentation or standard operating procedures. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are expending our labs in Bristol which will play a central role in Graphcore's work building the future of AI computing.   We are looking for a Validation and Debug engineer to work with Architecture, Silicon Engineering, Hardware Engineering and the Firmware team to help create and execute the Validation and debug of our cutting-edge system platforms. As such you will need to develop a detailed understanding of our silicon and platform products. Your role will be to create and execute bring-up plans of our silicon devices and platforms in systems to show that they will operate correctly over all conditions in the final product. This bring-up will also involve debugging of hardware and firmware. You will concentrate on mainly manual testing of systems in the lab with the aid of some automation. Responsibilities and Duties  * Perform Validation for new hardware platforms. * Debug PCB, power, signal integrity, and interface issues. * Support validation of high-current multi-phase SMPS power systems, including sequencing, transient response, thermal behaviour, load regulation, and power integrity analysis. * Debug complex power delivery networks supporting high-speed ASICs, FPGAs, MCUs, and accelerator devices. * Validate voltage rails, sequencing requirements, ripple, noise, efficiency, and thermal performance of multi-phase regulators. * Identify root causes and drive corrective actions across hardware and firmware domains. * Create bring-up documentation, test procedures, and debug reports.   Working closely with: * PCB design engineers * Power engineers * Signal integrity engineers * Embedded software teams   Essential skills * Hardware Validation and Debug * Multi-phase SMPS validation * Power integrity analysis * Signal integrity analysis * Root-cause analysis * Embedded systems * Cross-functional collaboration * Low-level system integration * An ability to work independently without daily oversight. * Independently performs board bring-up and subsystem debug * Drives issue resolution across teams. * Use advanced lab instrumentation including: * High-bandwidth oscilloscopes * PCIe protocol analysers * Logic analysers * Electronic loads * Power analysers * Hands-on experience with: * Multi-phase SMPS and PDN validation *   Desirable skills: * Knowledge of PCBA and system level technologies * Background knowledge of ATE systems and capabilities.
