LONG STORY SHORT, YOU WILL you will play a key role in designing, building, and continuously improving the backend systems that power our platform, with a particular focus on our CMS. You'll develop scalable, high-performance solutions, contribute to technical decision-making, and help ensure the reliability, stability, and maintainability of our products. Working closely with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders, you'll help drive technical excellence, optimise system performance, and deliver robust backend services that support both operational needs and business growth. ALL THE RESPONSIBILITIES WE WILL TRUST YOU WITH: * Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, specifications, and system designs. * Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications and services with a focus on long-term reliability and extensibility. * Establish and promote coding standards, best practices, and clean, well-documented code across the team. * Evaluate and drive the adoption of backend architectures, frameworks, and technologies that support platform growth and stability. * Develop and maintain APIs, services, and integrations, ensuring reliable communication between internal and external systems. * Drive code quality through testing, debugging, performance optimization, and code reviews. * Lead technical discussions and contribute to knowledge sharing to continuously raise engineering standards. * Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production support practices. * Identify and implement improvements that enhance system performance, maintainability, and developer productivity. * Stay current with modern backend technologies and champion relevant innovations, including AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and OpenAI Codex. YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE : * Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) — from greenfield builds and content architecture design through to platform migrations and re-platforming onto modern, scalable solutions. * 7+ years of experience as a Node.js developer, with a strong understanding of OOP principles and demonstrated experience owning complex backend systems end-to-end. * Expert in Node.js and modern backend development practices, including system design considerations for high-availability and high-throughput environments. * Hands-on experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks. * Experience designing and delivering REST APIs, microservices architectures, and integrations with frontend or backoffice interfaces. * Experience using AI development assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, etc.) in software delivery workflows. * Strong practical experience with databases such as SQL, MongoDB, or Redis. * Solid understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). * Advanced understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and API performance patterns. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex, cross-system issues. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Comfortable taking ownership and driving outcomes in a collaborative environment. LONG STORY SHORT, YOU WILL Play a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through a balanced approach of test automation and manual testing. With a strong focus on collaboration and innovation, you will work closely with developers and product owners to deliver high-quality products. You will also collaborate with other QA members to define and improve our testing and delivery processes. In this role, you will work closely with our Payments Engineering Team to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of payment-related systems and services. ALL THE RESPONSIBILITIES WE WILL TRUST YOU WITH: * Own testing activities, proactively identifying gaps and driving solutions. * Work effectively in projects with limited documentation. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage. * Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases. * Develop and enhance automation frameworks and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines. * Perform functional, regression, exploratory, usability, API, and cross-browser testing. * Analyze test results, track defects, verify fixes, and contribute to QA process improvements. * Participate in Agile ceremonies and champion QA best practices. * Lead root cause analysis and collaborate with developers to resolve issues. * Drive automation adoption through team upskilling, framework standardization, and process improvements. * Continuously explore new tools, AI-assisted development practices, and testing techniques. YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE : * 5+ years of QA experience, including 4+ years in test automation. * Hands-on experience in Quality Assurance within payments-related products, including transaction processing, integrations with payment providers, and payment workflows. * Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright and Cucumber. * Experience testing REST APIs and working with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB). * Strong programming skills in JavaScript or a similar language. * Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, Git/GitLab, CI/CD, Jira, and Xray. * Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, K6) is a plus. * Experience with or interest in using AI development assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex ect. * Excellent analytical, communication, and English language skills. * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. * Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-learning mindset. * iGaming industry experience is an advantage. WHAT MAKES YOU A GR8 FIT: Must-have * 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering complex systems. * Upper-intermediate or higher level of English. * Understanding of system design: microservices, event-driven architecture, resilient patterns, delivery guarantees, CAP theorem. * Database knowledge: relational and non-relational databases, SQL optimization, indexing, normalization/denormalization, ACID properties, transaction isolation. * Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes basics, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows. * Strong problem-solving skills: ability to break down ambiguous problems, make pragmatic decisions, and communicate reasoning clearly. * Advanced proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, including runtime internals, event loop, async programming, and core modules. * Advanced TypeScript: strict typing, generics, decorators, utility types, and metaprogramming patterns used in NestJS.  * Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using NestJS (modules, providers, guards, interceptors, microservices transport, Swagger). * Event-driven architecture: Kafka for async messaging, BullMQ for background job processing. * Cloud & infrastructure: AWS SDK (S3, Bedrock), Docker/Docker Compose, Prometheus metrics, GitLab CI/CD Nice-to-have * Experience with Go or .NET. * Experience with Strapi CMS or similar headless CMS platforms. * Familiarity with Terraform/Terragrunt for infrastructure-as-code.
