Location Qualifications: Bucharest (hybrid 2x week in office) About the position As a Staff Engineer on the Data Fabric team, you won’t just write code, you will set the technical direction, solve the hardest problems, and mentor the next generation of engineers. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, sees patterns where others see chaos, and builds long-term solutions that keep our systems healthy, scalable, and resilient. Senior Engineers are masters of their craft. Staff Engineers go a step further: you’ll tackle open-ended challenges where the right path isn’t obvious, drive technical strategy across multiple teams, mentor and sponsor engineers at every level, and be the one who makes complexity vanish—reducing technical debt and chaos with elegant, pragmatic solutions. Key Responsibilities * Lead with vision: Shape technical roadmaps, explore new problem spaces, and set direction for initiatives that span across teams—with a particular focus on the Data Fabric domain. * Be a force multiplier: Mentor engineers at all levels, sponsor opportunities for growth, and foster a culture of technical excellence. * Reduce chaos: Design Angular/TypeScript solutions that simplify, scale, and improve long-term maintainability across the data platform. * Drive impact: Identify what matters most for Showpad’s future—whether it’s reducing infrastructure costs, building resilient data pipelines, or unlocking new product capabilities. * Champion quality: Advocate for resilience, performance, and security, ensuring we always raise the technical bar. Are you our next Staff Engineer? Must haves * Experience solving complex technical challenges (we know expertise doesn’t always fit neatly in a timeline—what matters is impact). * Deep, production-grade proficiency in Angular and TypeScript, with a strong command of scalable front-end architecture, component design patterns, and performance optimization. * Experience with data-intensive applications—comfortable working across data fabric concepts, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures. * Proven track record in technical leadership, architecture, and strategy. * Proven track record for mentorship, clear communication, and long-term thinking. * Ability to see both the big picture and the fine detail, knowing when to zoom out to strategy and when to dive deep into technical issues. * Pragmatism: you make deliberate decisions, balancing speed and sustainability. * Hands-on experience working in AWS environments—comfortable with core services (e.g. Lambda, S3, RDS, Kinesis) and cloud-native architectural patterns. * Open to engaging with backend topics—you’re not limited to the front end and can contribute meaningfully to full-stack conversations, API design, and data pipeline decisions. Nice to have * Experience working with data mesh, data lakehouse, or data fabric paradigms. * Deeper back-end engineering experience (Node.js, Python, or similar) beyond familiarity—able to own backend components when needed. * Background in enterprise SaaS or sales enablement platforms. * Exposure to GraphQL, real-time data streaming (Kafka, Kinesis), or observability tooling. Company Highlights: Welcome to the new era of revenue effectiveness. The merger of Showpad and Bigtincan is creating the first AI-powered platform to strengthen the entire field selling motion. By unifying two industry-acclaimed solutions for content, readiness, engagement, and intelligence into a single operating system, we are delivering unrivaled scale and accelerated growth for our 2,000+ combined customers worldwide, including leaders in manufacturing (Dow, Dupont), healthcare (Fujifilm, Kaiser Permanente, Johnson&Johnson), CPG (Smucker’s, Mitsubishi, Stanley Black & Decker), and enterprise tech (HID, CultureAmp, LastPass). Acclaimed by analysts and adored by customers, we’re recognized as a Leader in the Forrester Wave™ Revenue Enablement Platforms, honored by Gartner as a Customers’ Choice in Revenue Enablement Platforms, and, together, endorsed by nearly 3,000 5-star customer reviews on G2. United, we’re focused on powering the next generation of field selling success through a more holistic engine that creates lasting value for our customers and a new vision for our category.
