IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: * Develop interactive, data-rich user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Vega, with a focus on integrating LLM-driven features (e.g., natural language querying, generative UI, and AI-assisted data storytelling). * Lead the end-to-end delivery of substantial product features, ensuring AI outputs are presented with high reliability and low latency. * Work closely with PMs, UX designers, and AI/ML engineers to bridge the gap between complex model outputs and intuitive user experiences. * Be a strong contributor to team planning, specifically identifying opportunities where Generative AI can simplify complex technical workflows for our users. * Champion the use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to maintain high code quality and accelerate delivery. QUALIFICATIONS: * 7+ years of industry experience building and maintaining complex enterprise applications. * Deep day-to-day knowledge of React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. * The ability to balance functionality, delivery speed, and the unique performance challenges of AI-integrated frontends (e.g., streaming responses, optimistic UI updates). * A drive to understand how frontend development—and specifically Human-AI Interaction (HAI)—impacts the overall customer experience. * A proactive approach to learning, especially regarding the evolving ecosystem of AI frameworks and frontend integration patterns. BONUS POINTS: * Experience with commercial dashboarding products (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Looker) or integrating AI into BI tools. * Deep knowledge of the DOM, CSS, Canvas, and XHR, specifically for optimizing the rendering of large-scale AI data sets. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: * Lead the backend architecture and delivery of the Logs product area by owning the full lifecycle from API design through production reliability, with a strong sense of what makes a great end-user experience. * Drive technical direction for log ingestion, storage, querying, and enrichment pipelines capable of handling hundreds of terabytes of telemetry daily. * Build for both humans and AI agents — design APIs and workflows that work equally well for UI users and programmatic access by AI coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor. * Partner deeply with PMs, Frontend, and Design to shape the product roadmap, translate user needs into sound technical designs, and identify backend capabilities that unlock high-value product experiences. * Champion product thinking on the engineering team — bring clarity to trade-offs, flag gaps in requirements, and proactively surface opportunities to simplify or improve the product. * Set the technical bar through code reviews, architecture reviews, and mentorship, establishing patterns that scale across the broader backend organization. * Champion the use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to maintain high code quality and accelerate delivery. QUALIFICATIONS: * 7+ years of industry experience building and maintaining high-scale backend systems in production. * Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or a comparable systems-oriented language; comfort working across the stack when needed. * Deep experience designing and operating distributed systems — familiarity with streaming pipelines, columnar storage, or log/event processing is a strong plus. * Demonstrated product acumen: you can read a PRD critically, push back on requirements that don't serve users, and propose simpler solutions without sacrificing outcomes. * Track record of leading end-to-end feature delivery in close partnership with cross-functional teams (PM, Design, Frontend). * Strong written and verbal communication — you can explain technical decisions to non-engineers and influence roadmap priorities with data and reasoning. BONUS POINTS: * Experience building observability or log management systems (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, Loki, OpenTelemetry). * Experience operating data lakehouses under high performance and high scale. * Experience with query DSLs, CEL, or similar expression evaluation frameworks. * Prior experience in a tech lead or staff engineer capacity on a product-focused team. We are hiring a Software Engineer, AI Products for our AI Platform team at Observe by Snowflake. As an AI Product engineer you'll always be thinking first about the user experience and how to create the best product, technical choices, and implementation decisions that stem from that product first thinking. This team builds the AI-powered products and developer tooling at the core of Observe's platform, including our flagship AI SRE product, real-time Slack integrations, CLI tooling, evaluation pipelines, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities. You will work on highly visible, customer-facing AI products as well as internal tooling that directly impacts how the broader engineering team operates. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: * Own features end-to-end across the full stack, from API design and backend logic through to the front-end experience, shipping customer-facing AI products with speed and quality * Build and evolve the AI SRE product, Observe's flagship tool that helps engineering teams resolve production issues up to 10x faster through AI-powered signal correlation * Develop the AI SRE Slack integration, creating real-time surfaces that let users interact with the AI SRE agent directly within their existing workflows * Build developer-facing CLI tooling, the APIs that power it, and evaluation pipelines that ensure model and system quality * Expand Observe's Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, extending the capabilities and reach of our agentic AI systems * Design and consume RESTful APIs with confidence, working both as a producer and a consumer across a fast-moving, interconnected codebase * Collaborate closely with product and design to ensure every feature is as thoughtful in user experience as it is in implementation QUALIFICATIONS * Strong proficiency in TypeScript, this is a core requirement for the role * Demonstrated experience building full-stack web applications, with comfort across backend logic, API design, and frontend surfaces * Experience with server-side Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Hono, or similar * Experience building or working with agentic AI systems and tool-use patterns, using SDKs such as the Vercel AI SDK, Anthropic Agent SDK, LangGraph, or Tanstack AI SDK * Experience implementing MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers over HTTP * Experience building agent-first CLI systems using Node.js or Bun * A product mindset, you care as much about the user experience as the implementation details * The ability to move quickly in a fast-moving codebase without sacrificing quality or maintainability * A BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience BONUS POINTS: * Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, and evaluation (evals) pipelines in production environments * Experience with Bun as a runtime * Prior work on developer tooling, internal platforms, or productivity infrastructure that directly shaped how an engineering team operates * Contributions to open-source AI, tooling, or observability projects * Familiarity with Observe's platform or the broader observability ecosystem (logs, metrics, traces, APM) Every Snowflake employee is expected to follow the company’s confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data.
