Project Accountant (Central Ohio)

Position: Scheduling Intern Location: Columbus, Ohio Pay Range: $25.00 per hour Superior is looking for highly motivated and energetic students to participate in our internship program during the Fall 2026 term (September – December). In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, we provide our interns with lunch-and-learns, leadership training, career prep, unique jobsite visits, and beyond. Under the guidance of our Scheduling team, you’ll gain exposure to our jobsites and how we keep our projects moving forward, including contracting, scheduling, estimating, biding, and contract administration. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Key Responsibilities * Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules for electrical construction using tools such as Primavera OPC, P6 or Microsoft Project * Learning our processes on creating and updating schedules to assist our team * Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and stakeholders to understand project activities, dependencies, and critical paths * Help analyze project progress and identify potential scheduling risks or delays * Support the preparation of project documentation, including progress reports, updates, and milestone tracking * Participate in meetings and learn best practices in construction scheduling and timeline optimization * Gaind hands-on experience with resource planning and real-world project coordination Your Character Traits * You’re a great communicator, a team player, and ready to work with colleagues across our engineering and field team * You have a knack for solving problems and enjoy analytical tasks * You’re organized, great at prioritization, and have a strong attention to detail * You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when sensitive information Education * Required: You must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.  About The Superior Group (Superior) Superior is a national leader in electrical design and construction. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer that will support U.S. Navy facilities and infrastructure projects based at the Government facilities onboard NSA Naples, Italy. You will provide structural engineering expertise throughout the planning, design, and construction phases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, code-compliant, and high-quality facility solutions.   This position is contingent upon contract award. If awarded, the contract will have a potential period of performance of up to five (5) years.   Key responsibilities: * Provide professional civil engineering support for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, renovation, demolition, space utilization, and facilities development of Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Command projects, including MILCON and special projects. * Perform civil and structural analysis and design for environmental and blast loads, structural systems, foundations, retaining structures, utility supports, and concrete, steel, and timber structures. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams to ensure coordinated, code-compliant project delivery. * Apply civil engineering principles and industry standards throughout all phases of facility planning, design, construction, and maintenance. * Ensure compliance with DoD, Navy, International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, and other applicable codes, standards, and regulations. * Prepare technical analyses, reports, presentations, and engineering recommendations to support project planning and decision-making. * Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, team coordination, and compliance with applicable safety policies and PPE requirements. Qualifications to be successful in the role: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineer from an ABET-accredited program. * Minimum 5 years of professional structural civil engineering experience in code-compliant facilities design, including new construction and renovation projects. * Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Civil Engineering - Structural is desirable. * Must have a valid US driver's license.
