Do you want to kick-start your career in finance at a company that keeps Europe moving? Then you could be the newest addition to our Group Financial Controlling & Compliance team. As a Student Assistant, you will support financial closing, controlling, and reporting activities while working closely with experienced finance professionals. Strong analytical and finance skills are valuable - but if you also have a passion for automation and finding smarter ways of working, you'll fit right in. About the role Be part of the movement - and play your part. We are currently looking for a dedicated Student Assistant to join our Group Financial Controlling and Compliance team in Copenhagen. It is a unique opportunity to join a driven team where you can contribute to a range of dynamic activities supporting DFDS’s external reporting process. In this role, you will be supporting our monthly closing, controlling and reporting processes. You will be sparring with stakeholders to understand the drivers behind changes in our financial results. When supporting the publication of DFDS’s annual report, you will be in contact with important stakeholders not only from the business, but also from treasury, investor relations, group sustainability and our business partners. What makes this role different is the focus on working smarter. Wherever a task is manual and repetitive, we want you to help us automate it – using tools like SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Query and Microsoft Copilot. You don’t need to be an expert in these; curiosity and a willingness to learn go a long way. What kind of exciting challenges can you expect to meet in this role? As a student assistant in our team, you will have varied tasks supporting the closing, monthly controlling and external reporting processes – for example preparing reconciliations, assisting with calculations such as incremental borrowing rates and business valuations, and helping prepare reporting deliverables. In addition, you will be planning and organizing the team’s activities. Alongside these tasks, you will help us reduce manual work – for example by building simple Power Automate flows, improving our SharePoint setup, or using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to draft and structure documentation. The finance tasks themselves are fairly straightforward; the value you add is in doing them well and finding smarter ways to do them. The working hours will be approximately 20 hours per week with flexibility for exams. About you We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. With this in mind, we imagine you are studying a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, engineering or similar — but if you come from another field and bring knowledge of automation tools and an interest in finance, we'd still love to hear from you. We imagine the ideal person for this position will bring the following: * You are curious about AI and comfortable using tools such as Microsoft Copilot in your daily work – and critical about their output * You have an interest in SharePoint, Power Automate or Power Query – hands-on experience is a plus, but willingness to learn is what counts * You are structured and detail-oriented, and you like finding smarter ways to handle repetitive tasks * A finance or accounting background is helpful, but not a strict requirement – the finance tasks can be learned on the job * You are fluent in written and spoken English and feel comfortable communicating with various stakeholders Working at DFDS Join the movement and grow with us. While you’re with us, we want you to develop. We’ll encourage you to challenge yourself to acquire new skills and perspectives. We promote a great workplace with a diverse and vibrant community and a healthy work/life balance with flexible work arrangements. Our headquarters in Copenhagen is a unique, modern workplace. Here, we enjoy our own game room, fitness facilities, cantina and café and a rooftop terrace with a beautiful ocean view, all just 5 minutes from the nearest train & metro station. As a student assistant, you will become part of our student network, connecting with peers across our departments from diverse programs and universities. The network hosts a range of social and professional events throughout the year, offering opportunities to grow and have fun together. Are we a match? Then what are you waiting for? Apply Now. If you think your personality, skills, experience and ambition match this role, we’d love to hear from you. Apply as soon as possible and no later than August 3th. Should you have any questions we haven't covered here your can contact Carolina, Head of Group Financial Controlling & Compliance at carbiag@dfds.com We’re keen to meet potential candidates on an ongoing basis but please note that due to the summer holiday period, there might be a delay in response time, but rest assured that we will get back to you as soon as possible and interview is expected in August. We look forward to hearing from you.
Knowunity is building the future of learning, and our Finance function needs to scale just as fast. We're looking for a Working Student to join our Director Finance & People as a right hand in the making: part finance assistant, part builder, fully embedded in how we run the business. You'll work directly alongside our Director Finance & People and get exposure to our founders, supporting everything from financial close and reporting to process automation and cross-functional projects. Think of this as a mini-strategy seat inside Finance: high ownership for a working student role, direct leadership access, and the chance to shape how we work from the ground up while you're still in university. YOUR IMPACT * Support to the Director: Be the Director's day-to-day support, help organize meetings and follow-ups, prepare materials, and keep cross-functional topics moving so nothing falls through the cracks. * Finance Operations & Accounting: Support key financial processes including monthly/quarterly/annual close and coordination with external auditors. Help ensure smooth and accurate financial reporting across jurisdictions. * Controlling Support: Support the team on operational controlling tasks, help prepare monthly reports, maintain trackers, and assist with ad hoc data pulls and analyses. * AI & Automation: Spot and pilot opportunities to automate manual finance workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations. Be a driver of our shift from static reporting to dynamic, AI-enhanced financial intelligence. * Cross-Functional Bridge: Support coordination with tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers. Help connect Finance & People with the wider org (Growth, Engineering, etc.). * Future-Ready Finance: Help lay the foundations for a digital finance backbone, contribute to building intelligent dashboards and KPI trackers as Knowunity grows. YOUR BACKGROUND * Studies: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at a top-tier university in business, finance, economics, or a related field. Available for 20 hours per week, ideally for at least 6–12 months. * First Experience: First internship or working student experience in finance, consulting, or a high-growth startup is a strong plus, not a hard requirement. What matters more is hunger and a clear eye for what good looks like. * Analytical Chops: Strong analytical mindset with solid Excel skills. You enjoy turning messy data into clear answers. * Tech-Forward Mindset: Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day. Always looking for ways to automate and improve. Familiarity with low-code platforms is a plus. * Accounting Knowledge: Basic understanding of German accounting practices is a plus; curiosity about international standards (IFRS) is welcome. * Languages: Fluent in German and English, written and spoken. * Mindset: A builder and operator at heart, proactive, self-driven, pragmatic, and energized by working directly with leadership to shape something from the ground up.
