THE ROLE
The Software Operations team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong platform mindset to build the software,
services, tools, and automation that power Toptracer’s global technology platform.
This is a software engineering role at the intersection of backend development, distributed systems, infrastructure, and
operations. You will spend a significant part of your time designing and writing software in Python, building APIs and internal
services, developing automation, and creating tools that make complex infrastructure easier to operate at scale.
Our platform includes large-scale Kubernetes environments running primarily on self-managed and on-premises infrastructure. You
don't need to think of yourself as a traditional infrastructure engineer. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving
infrastructure and operational challenges through software.
Together with the team, you will design and develop systems that remove operational bottlenecks, improve developer productivity,
automate deployment and provisioning, and enable Toptracer to scale worldwide.
You will have the opportunity to influence architecture and technical direction while remaining hands-on with code. You will work
closely with software developers, infrastructure engineers, and operations teams and help bridge the gap between application
development and the environments where our software runs.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
Design and build backend services, APIs, tools, and automation in Python
Solve infrastructure and operational challenges through software
Build systems used to manage and operate large-scale Kubernetes environments
Improve developer experience and remove operational bottlenecks
Design scalable automation for deployment, provisioning, and lifecycle management
Contribute to software and platform architecture
Work with distributed systems spanning software, infrastructure, and physical devices
Help shape deployment strategies, engineering practices, and technical direction
Collaborate closely with experienced software, infrastructure, and operations engineers
Mentor colleagues and share knowledge across the team

WE BELIEVE YOU HAVE
Prioritized skills
Strong software development experience, particularly backend development in Python
Experience designing and building maintainable services, APIs, tooling, and automation
Several years of experience developing software for Linux environments
Strong experience with Kubernetes, including operating or developing solutions for self-managed or on-premises environments
Experience with containerized applications and Docker
Experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines for Linux environments
A good understanding of infrastructure automation and how software interacts with the underlying platform
Experience designing scalable operational tooling and automation workflows
Ability to understand large distributed systems and how components interact across software and infrastructure
An interest in software architecture combined with a desire to remain hands-on with coding
Ability to contribute to architectural decisions, technical strategy, and long-term scalability
Strong communication and knowledge-sharing skills, including mentoring and supporting other engineers
Relevant experience beyond the core requirements
Experience with Flask, FastAPI, or Django
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
Experience defining and implementing automated testing strategies
Experience working in agile software development teams
Experience with coordination or Scrum Master responsibilities
Experience with GitOps and tools such as Argo CD
Experience deploying and maintaining cloud-based and distributed systems
Experience with blue/green or similar deployment strategies
