YOUR MISSION * You provide architectural and technical leadership by driving scalable architectures and long-term technical improvements across teams * You support engineers hands-on in designing and implementing high-quality services, distributed systems, and data pipelines * You collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and other Staff Engineers to align on architectural decisions and technical direction * You evaluate and integrate AI technologies where they strengthen systems, processes, or product capabilities with measurable impact * You enable responsible AI adoption by defining best practices, guidelines, and reusable patterns across engineering * You mentor engineers and drive cross-team alignment while reducing complexity and improving engineering-wide consistency     YOUR EXPERIENCE & SKILLS * You already work as a Staff Engineer and have impact on department level, not only within your team * You have extensive experience in modern software engineering and distributed systems * You bring strong architectural thinking and can align teams and stakeholders on technical decisions * You have deep experience with event-driven systems, microservices, and AWS-based architectures * You are familiar with data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data governance, data pipelines, and data quality frameworks  * You have a solid understanding of AI concepts such as LLMs, embeddings, vector search, agents, and automation patterns * You have experience integrating AI capabilities into existing systems or workflows and assessing feasibility, risk, and impact * You communicate fluently in English; German is a plus   WHY CHOOSE US? Start: Immediately | Level: Senior | Location: Germany, remote | Working hours: Full time (40h/Week)  As an AI Security Engineer(gn) , you play a key role in enabling the secure adoption of Artificial Intelligence across the organization. You are responsible for securing AI systems, Generative AI solutions, LLM-based workflows, AI-powered tools, and the integration of external AI services. Acting as the central point of contact for AI Security, you define security standards, conduct architecture and risk assessments, and develop technical and organizational safeguards to mitigate risks. You also drive the automation of security controls and governance processes while supporting teams across the business in the secure and compliant use of AI technologies. YOUR MISSION * You advise on and assess internally developed and externally sourced AI systems, Generative AI applications, LLM-based workflows, and agentic AI solutions from a security perspective * You conduct AI threat modeling, risk assessments, security reviews, and architecture assessments for software, cloud, and AI environments * You develop and implement Secure AI-by-Design and Security-by-Default principles and define security requirements for AI-powered systems * You identify and assess risks such as prompt injection, jailbreaking, data leakage, model poisoning, adversarial attacks, and insecure agent integrations, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies * You perform AI red teaming, technical security assessments, and reviews to strengthen the security of LLM platforms, agentic AI solutions, and AI service integrations * You build automated security controls and integrate AI security checks into DevSecOps, CI/CD, and MLOps processes * You establish monitoring and detection capabilities for AI applications and collaborate with Security Operations teams to investigate security events and abuse patterns * You advise engineering, product, and business teams on the secure use of AI and support the rollout of new AI solutions through training, standards, and best practices YOUR EXPERIENCE & SKILLS * You hold a degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, or a comparable qualification * You have several years of experience in Security Engineering, Application Security, Cloud Security, or a related Cyber Security field * You have hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), modern AI platforms, and cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud * You have experience with threat modeling, security assessments, architecture reviews, and modern DevSecOps, CI/CD, or MLOps practices * Knowledge of AI security frameworks and standards such as the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF, or similar approaches is a plus * Ideally, you have experience with AI Red Teaming, RAG architectures, vector databases, agentic AI concepts, or regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIS2, and the EU AI Act * You combine strong analytical thinking and a security-first mindset with a structured and solution-oriented approach to work * You are an effective communicator who can explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders * You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken   WHY CHOOSE US?   Being part of our team means joining a high-performing company with a diverse and inclusive culture. As an AI Engineer (gn), you bring AI to where it creates real value in day-to-day business: translating business requirements into practical, production-ready AI solutions built on our existing tool landscape and an emerging company-wide AI platform. You work hands-on with our AI tools, including Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, and n8n, building workflows and use cases, advancing our AI tooling, and helping introduce, consolidate, and govern new technologies. You think end-to-end—from the initial problem statement through implementation and deployment. Due to organizational and regulatory requirements, residency in Germany is required for this position. YOUR MISSION * TRANSLATE BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS INTO AI SOLUTIONS * Translate business requirements into concrete, implementable AI solutions, working closely with Business, Security, and Engineering teams. * Own AI use cases from the initial idea through production deployment, including implementation, stakeholder alignment, documentation, and transparency. * Integrate AI, LLMs, and AI agents into production workflows while contributing to the development of a centralized AI infrastructure/platform. WORK WITH AND EVOLVE OUR AI TOOL LANDSCAPE * Work hands-on with our enterprise AI tools (Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise) and help improve their capabilities and usability. * Build and maintain workflows and automations in n8n, while enabling teams to use them independently. * Evaluate and introduce new AI tools, consolidate existing solutions, and collaborate with Security on standards and governance (e.g., for n8n). * Develop AI applications such as RAG solutions, conversational assistants, and AI agents that answer questions, provide recommendations, or execute tasks with human approval. * Design governance models, role- and permission concepts, and technical guardrails for the responsible use of AI across the organization.
