JOIN YOUSICIAN Yousician impacts and enriches the lives of millions of people by empowering them to play music they love, learn something new, and nourish their well-being. We merge music and tech to amplify the everyday. We reimagine the way people learn to play so that everyone can play. And, you don't need to be a musician to join Yousician! We're a band of passionate professionals who love what they do, are great at it, and move to the beat of the same drum. We're for all players: from newbies to seasoned pros. If you are looking for a rewarding career opportunity that helps shape the future of music-tech, you're in the right place! MAKE MUSICALITY AS COMMON AS LITERACY At Yousician, we reimagine music education for a billion people. Our products, Yousician and GuitarTuna, are the world's leading music learning and tuning apps, used by millions of people to learn, play, and tune their instruments every day. We believe subscription revenue is won in the details, not in the pitch deck. Paywall copy, trial lengths, price points, renewal offers, reactivation campaigns: each one is a craft, and each one moves the number when it is done right. We are hiring a Product Manager with strong monetization craft to run experimentation across both of our products THE ROLE Your mission is clear: you help turn players into paying subscribers, and keep them, across Yousician and GuitarTuna. You will run paywall, pricing, and offer experimentation end to end for both products. Hypothesis, brief, ship, readout, decision. You will maintain the live revenue forecast that ties every test back to the quarterly plan, and reconcile it monthly against what actually landed. Multiple tests run every week. Every one of them has a written brief and a clean readout. This is a senior specialist role. You come in with a point of view on paywall mechanics, price point elasticity, trial length trade-offs, holdout discipline, and primary-metric selection. You will report to the Head of Revenue and work closely with them to translate monetization priorities into a concrete experimentation roadmap. You will work day to day with embedded engineers on both products, a test designer, and a data partner. You are a strong monetization specialist and a key thought partner on experimentation, pricing, paywalls, and offers. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Run the Experiment Cadence: Own the weekly operating rhythm for monetization experimentation across both products, including planning, launch readiness, readouts, and decision follow-through. Ensure each experiment has a clear hypothesis, success metric, guardrails, and decision rule before it goes live. * Own the Test Portfolio Execution: Translate agreed monetization priorities into a concrete test roadmap across Yousician, GuitarTuna mobile, and the GuitarTuna web experience. Design variants, write briefs, specify subscription-platform configuration, and work with engineering on delivery. * Maintain the Revenue View: Maintain the live monetization forecast and experiment-level revenue view, and help reconcile plan vs actual together with the Head of Revenue and Finance. * Partner with Finance on Pricing: You build the case for every price change, walk Finance through the numbers, and manage the rollout across iOS, Android, and Web with the regional and store constraints that come with it. * Keep the Scorecard Honest: Maintain the weekly Monetization Tracker and experiment readout cadence, ensuring that key metrics, forecasts, and decisions stay consistent and reliable. Partner with the Head of Revenue, Data, and Finance to investigate mismatches and keep the monetization view decision-ready. WHO YOU ARE * You bring strong monetization craft: You have shipped across the full spectrum: paywall copy, paywall placement, price points, trial variants, intro offers, winback campaigns. You know where the wins usually come from and where the traps are. * You are resourceful and proactive: You do not wait for perfect conditions. You can spot practical opportunities, identify problems worth solving, and move things forward in an under-resourced or ambiguous setup. Whether through tooling, lightweight prototyping, or creative cross-functional problem solving, you know how to turn momentum into shipped work. * You think in numbers: Baseline, uplift, volume, EUR. When you pitch a test, you already know what it is worth. When you kill one, you can explain why in one sentence. * You have opinions on methodology: You have views on MDE-setting, holdout design, sample ratio mismatch, guardrail thresholds, and sequential testing. You can defend them and you update them when the data tells you to. * You decide by the data: You have killed winning-looking tests when the stats did not support them, and you have shipped underwhelming-looking ones when the logic did. You do not fall in love with hypotheses. * You understand the full system: Monetization decisions do not live in isolation. A price change can affect winbacks, a paywall test can change retention, and a trial decision can shift downstream value. You can think across the full subscriber lifecycle and make decisions with LTV in mind, not just immediate conversion. * You communicate directly: You write briefs that engineers can build and readouts that Finance can trust. Conclusion first, numbers second, caveats third. REQUIREMENTS * 5+ years in monetization, paywall, pricing, or subscription PM roles at a consumer subscription business. Mobile preferred, web acceptable. * Shipped at least 30 paywall, pricing, or offer experiments you personally scoped, briefed, and read out. * Fluency with experimentation platforms such as Eppo, Statsig, GrowthBook, Optimizely, or an in-house equivalent. You understand how metrics, guardrails, and variants are configured, and can work effectively with data and engineering to ensure experiments are set up correctly. * Working knowledge of mobile subscription mechanics: trial lengths, intro offers, grace periods, renewal cycles, refund behaviour on iOS and Android. * Strong analytical fluency with SQL familiarity. You are comfortable validating analysis, interrogating results, and partnering closely with analysts on experiment readouts. * Ideally, you have direct experience with RevenueCat, Adapty, Purchasely, or a comparable subscription platform. * Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. * Based in Berlin or Helsinki. WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE * Impact: Your work directly influences the P&L across two products with millions of users. The tests you ship translate into EUR every week. Few PM roles have such a short feedback loop. * Ownership: You own the monetization experimentation engine and have direct influence on how monetization ideas are shaped, tested, and scaled. You work closely with the Head of Revenue to translate strategy into shipped outcomes. * Culture: We are a band, not just a company. We have jam sessions in the office, great gear, and a team that cares about the mission. * The Basics: Competitive salary, lunch benefits, culture vouchers, and a modern office in Helsinki and Berlin. HOW TO APPLY Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter describing the last paywall, pricing, or offer experiment you shipped. Tell us the hypothesis, the result, the decision you made, and what you would do differently next time. Let's help the world play! GAQ127R57 While candidates in the listed location(s) are encouraged for this role, candidates in other locations will be considered. Databricks is looking for a Senior Manager, Payroll to own end-to-end payroll delivery for the United States and Canada. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will run the operations, lead the team, own the compliance, and be the subject matter expert the business turns to when it matters. You will sit within the Global Payroll function, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Head of Global Payroll, and will be an active member of the Payroll Leadership Team — contributing to global strategy, cross-regional alignment, and function-wide initiatives beyond your direct remit. You will manage a team of four to five payroll professionals and be accountable for accurate, timely, and compliant payroll for a fast-scaling workforce across multiple US states and Canadian provinces. This is not a coordinator role with a manager title. We need someone who has been in the engine room, knows what good looks like, and can build it here. The impact you will have: PAYROLL OPERATIONS * Own the full payroll cycle — semi-monthly and off-cycle runs — for all US and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a clean audit trail on every run * Manage the payroll calendar, cut-off deadlines, and coordination with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity from hire to final pay * Serve as the primary escalation point for payroll discrepancies, employee queries, and operational issues — resolving with speed and precision * Drive continuous improvement across payroll processes, reducing manual effort and increasing controls without sacrificing responsiveness TECHNOLOGY & SYSTEMS * Work within Workday Payroll and Workday HCM as the primary payroll platform — managing pay runs, earnings and deduction codes, and audit reporting * Utilise ADP Smart Compliance for multi-state and provincial tax filing, remittance, and amendment management * Partner with HRIS and IT on system upgrades, open enrolment changes, and configuration changes requiring payroll impact assessment * Identify opportunities to reduce manual reconciliation and improve data accuracy across the payroll tech stack TAX COMPLIANCE — US & CANADA * Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax obligations across all US jurisdictions including multi-state nexus, SUI, SDI, and local levies * Manage Canadian payroll tax compliance across all provinces — CPP, EI, provincial income tax, and Quebec-specific requirements (QPP, QPIP) * Own year-end processes end to end — W-2, W-2c, T4, T4A, RL-1 — from reconciliation through employee distribution and agency filing * Manage tax registration, filing, amendment, and penalty response across all active jurisdictions * Stay ahead of legislative changes — federal and sub-national — and translate them into process and system updates before they become compliance gaps EQUITY & SUPPLEMENTAL COMPENSATION * Manage payroll processing and tax withholding for RSU vesting events, including coordination with Stock Administration on vest schedules, sell-to-cover mechanics, and supplemental withholding rates * Ensure correct treatment of ESPP, NQSOs, ISOs, and other equity instruments from a payroll tax perspective * Partner with Legal and Tax on equity income sourcing and IRS / CRA reporting obligations on equity-derived income * Reconcile equity payroll data to stock admin records each quarter with zero tolerance for mismatch TEAM LEADERSHIP * Lead, develop, and performance-manage a team of four to five payroll professionals — setting clear expectations, managing workload, and building capability * Create a team culture where accuracy is non-negotiable, deadlines are owned not managed around, and problems surface early * Build redundancy and cross-training so the function is never single-threaded on any critical process * Coach the team on technical depth — tax law, equity mechanics, compliance — so they grow into the next generation of payroll leaders CONTROLS, AUDIT & GOVERNANCE * Design and maintain SOX-compliant payroll controls, including segregation of duties, approval workflows, and exception reporting * Lead payroll's response to internal and external audits — preparing documentation, managing timelines, and closing findings without repeat * Maintain payroll policy documentation and desktop procedures, updated with every legislative or system change * Produce monthly payroll metrics and variance analysis for Finance and HR leadership What we look for: * 8+ years of hands-on US and Canada payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a team * Deep working knowledge of US multi-state payroll tax — nexus determination, reciprocity agreements, SUI/SDI, supplemental withholding rates * Solid understanding of Canadian payroll compliance — CPP/QPP, EI/QPIP, provincial tax, T4/RL-1 year-end * Proven experience managing RSU and equity payroll — from vest event processing through W-2/T4 reconciliation * Strong command of payroll reconciliation, general ledger mapping, and accrual processes * Experience leading teams of four or more people — you know how to delegate, develop, and hold people accountable * CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or equivalent certification preferred NICE TO HAVE * Experience with Workday Payroll and Workday HCM — working knowledge of the platform in a payroll operations context is a strong advantage * Hands-on experience with ADP Smart Compliance for multi-jurisdictional tax filing and agency management is a strong advantage * Experience supporting a high-growth technology company through rapid headcount scaling across new US states and Canadian provinces * Familiarity with Shareworks for stock plan administration and equity payroll integration is an added advantage * Experience with payroll and equity tax rules for mobile employee populations * Exposure to global payroll coordination and vendor management beyond North America Pay Range
