An ability to learn and a determination to grow are more important than the knowledge you already have.     YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES   With lots of support and guidance from your peers, you will work as part of our technical team on client assignments in multi-disciplinary projects for a wide range of markets. You may work on one or more projects at a time, in a variety of different disciplines and roles.   You will have the chance to interact directly with clients at all phases of projects, from requirements capture and progress updates through delivery to final handover. You will collaborate closely with software, RF, signal processing, mechanical and AI engineers.      WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING    Cambridge Consultants works on a wide range of product and system developments for a broad range of clients. Your tasks may include:  * Design and implement systems for a variety of applications and products.   * Develop analogue and digital hardware, PCB layouts, and FPGA designs (Verilog/VHDL).   * Hands-on testing and debugging in the lab.   * Opportunities to gain experience in embedded software (C/C++) and system-level design.  Recent projects include:  * Collaborating with LEGO to develop LEGO® SMART Play™  * Developing bespoke communication systems for robotics platforms.  * Prototyping large airborne antennas for global 5G coverage.  * Creating secure satellite communication systems.  * Connecting the unconnected with affordable Digital Radio Mondiale technology    WHAT YOU CAN BRING  * An excellent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related subject.   * Solid understanding of fundamental electronic theory and principles.   * Practical experience through university, work, or personal projects in one or more of:          - Analogue electronics (interfaces, RF, power)         - Digital electronics (processors, DSP, Verilog/VHDL)        - PCB design  * Enthusiasm for designing things and making them work.  * Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.   Some projects at Cambridge Consultants are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to obtain a Security Check level security clearance ( https://www.gov.uk/guidance/united-kingdom-security-vetting-applicant ). INTRODUCTION We are looking for Physicist Graduates with a passion for innovation and technology to join our Applied Science team. This role is suitable for those who are due to graduate this summer, or have recently graduated.  You will take on complex problems across a range of industries, including Healthcare, Defence, and Energy, by applying your scientific understanding, and your drive and curiosity to learn new things.  You will be motivated by the idea of applying your theoretical knowledge and experimental skill to solving real-world engineering challenges.    WHAT WE CAN OFFER This role will offer a wide variety of technical challenges and opportunities for personal development.
