🔦 At CheckWatt, we’re a team of dedicated innovators on a mission to drive a sustainable future for Sweden and beyond. We are a
green tech company that is rapidly growing in the environmental and energy sector. As part of our exciting growth journey, we are
now looking for a new team member to help shape the future of sustainable energy solutions.
With our leading technology, we’re revolutionizing virtual power plants by connecting solar panels, wind farms, and battery
storage to create smarter, sustainable energy solutions 🍀.
As an Embedded Engineer at CheckWatt, you'll develop power control software for our Linux-based IoT-edge nodes and manage tens of
thousands of installations across Sweden and, soon, internationally – all centrally controlled via our backend cloud.
You will be joining a growing company of 60 people that is slowly leaving its startup days behind. As we grow and evolve, people
often choose to engage in various aspects of the business, offering valuable technical assistance in different areas. This
collaborative approach allows team members to explore new challenges and expand their expertise across the organization.
You will maintain and improve the control software integration toward 50 brands of power hardware.
We search for someone who is an independent and fast performer.
You provide clean production ready Pull-Requests and participate in code reviews. Autonomously identify issues and act when the
benefit outweighs the time- and risk cost. You will likely have a relevant Master of Science degree and more than five years of
Programming: Object-Oriented design (Python, a little .NET), multithreading, race condition handling, unit testing (e.g. PyTest)
and Git.
Embedded Systems: The analytical grit required troubleshooting embedded hardware anomalies. Bits and bytes, endianness, writing
communication register-interfaces, and analyzing logs is you.
Linux: Fluent proficiency with Linux shell, SSH, SCP, Rsync, GNU screen, network stack, Wireshark, etc
Embedded team operates in “just-in-time” delivery. While the Backend team may have the luxury of working against goals 4 months
out, we in Embedded teams adjust our priorities rapidly as this market is young and customer needs quickly change.
Most coding and debugging is done against a real live installation, and thus suitable for remote-hybrid work. (200 kWh of
batteries would be unsuitable in the office 😉)
We work loosely agile in JIRA with Feature Epics, but Task breakdown is mainly created by each individual engineer.
You will have the opportunity to work hybrid remote, and on Wednesdays, we meet at the office for "gofika". Our headquarters is in
Stockholm, but your nearest office will be on the “best coast” here in Gothenburg.
Why CheckWatt? 🔋

electricity. We value diversity, collaboration, and continuous learning, offering you the chance to grow in a dynamic industry
driven by innovation and customer focus.
