Flow Traders is looking for Senior C++ Software Engineers to join our growing team in Hong Kong. Software Engineers at Flow Traders provide us with our competitive edge, equipping Researchers and Traders with the information and capabilities that they need to make sound business decisions. C++ plays a critical role in our event-driven trading systems, which are designed to reliably handle vast amounts of data at ultra-low latencies. As a C++ Engineer, you will build systems used to analyze and trade tens of thousands of products across hundreds of global trading venues every day. Working closely with Technologists, Quantitative Researchers, and Traders, you’ll guide the development of our in-house trading technology and optimize it to achieve market-leading performance and reliability. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Main technical activities include: For all C++ openings: * Lead the development and global rollout of our Core platform used in multiple business/focus groups (Market data, Quantitative research, Pricing, Strategies) * Be involved in the development process, which will be a fast-paced iterative process where you deploy your deliverables and validate them yourself and/or together with traders or quants * Develop tools/frameworks to deliver capabilities for tuning/develop data-driven systematic pricing and trading strategies * Work together with focus group engineers, Quants and Technical traders to refine requirements, collect feedback, and iterate on design and implementation of platform requirements Exchange Connectivity: * Write software that communicates with exchanges through their APIs, receiving market data and sending orders over the network in different protocols, such as FIX, Websocket or HTTP requests * Ensure quality of software based on a set of testing suites, which you are expected to use, maintain and extend * Optimize exchange communication through kernel bypass, optimizing TLS or the connection handling to an exchange * Research exchange behavior in detail to align our behavior to that of an exchange * Implement these solutions using the provided exchange SDKs in different languages such as C++, Rust, Python, Typescript Trading Strategies: * Implement trading algorithms based on requirements provided by traders and quants * Acquire and develop the necessary trading knowledge to successfully translate the requirements into actual software implementation * Continuously improve the stability, reliability, and performance of the trading engine * Enhance monitoring and observability in collaboration with the Trading Operations team * Investigate and resolve production issues such as crashes, unexpected business logic behavior, and performance bottlenecks * Prepare for releases and deployments of new trading engine versions WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED * BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent * 5+ years post-graduation professional C++ software development experience (proprietary trading industry preferred) * Ability to write clean, reliable, and highly scalable code * Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures * Experience in parallel, asynchronous, and multithreaded programming * Interest in achieving maximum performance from available hardware and software * Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical business colleagues Flow Traders does not accept unsolicited resumes from any professional staffing or search firms. Flow Traders is seeking a Core Data Engineer with a distinct focus on real-time analytics solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the end-to-end lifecycle of our most critical data products that bring low-latency analytical capabilities to end users.You will be the architect and executor of the blueprint for these real-time data products, enhancing our Data Platform to develop and monitor automated pipelines. Your goal is to ensure that stakeholders across the organization have immediate access to reliable data whenever it is needed. You will further become an expert in these dynamic data sets—drawing from sources such as market data, network traffic and application logs—to optimize their use and explore additional sources for unlocking value in real time. Collaboration is key, and you will consistently engage with teams across Flow Traders to ensure that our systems are designed with real-time data considerations at their core. Streamlining workflows related to data, and working with stakeholders, you will maximize the impactful insights drawn from real-time analytics. As the steward of our most vital real-time data products, you will be uniquely positioned to influence Flow Traders' operations. Your accountability will lie in delivering these data products at exceptional quality—with a focus on low latency—to drive future growth. Ultimately, your work will provide substantial, real-time benefits felt across all divisions daily, laying one of the most crucial foundations for the firm's strategic expansion in the years ahead. WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Accountable for timely and high-quality delivery of core data products to the rest of the organization: Market Data, Trades/Orders/Quotes/Inquiries, Application Logs with a specific focus on low-latency analytics * Develop and own the end-to-end lifecycle of these data products: build and maintain pipelines, develop quality checks, correct day-to-day issues, and systematize/automate manual processing steps * Define and manage project plans to assume ownership of these data products * Create and refine a common processing model (esp. fast vs slow path, use of alternative T3 solutions) across these data products * Investigate currently available sources of data and ensure that Flow extracts maximum information and value from them * Explore, evaluate, and onboard additional sources of available data (both independently and at the request of stakeholders) * Work closely with other teams to: automate existing workflows, develop real-time capabilities as platform offering, ensure pipelines leverage standard Flow technologies, provide guidance on data-related architecture/design topics, ensure licensing and access control are appropriate WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: * Excellent programming skills in Python * Working proficiency with Linux, SQL and relational databases, and version control systems * Proven experience with real-time OLAP databases like ClickHouse, Apache Pinot, StarRocks required * Experience with Airflow, Kafka, and GCP (esp. The AWS Cloud Engineering Team provides a scalable, performant and best practice platform for QRT’s application and core teams to utilize in deploying cloud native services. This team is critical in ensuring that applications are built on a strong AWS foundation from the perspective of governance, security and connectivity. Your future role at QRT: We are hiring an experienced cloud architect, who has a deep knowledge in AWS infrastructure and compute services along with broad knowledge across the expansive suite of AWS services. The role will require close collaboration across QRT business and technology groups to provide cloud architecture advisory, design and implementation support on new and existing platforms, which lowers the burden of knowledge on development teams and accelerates the time to market of new applications, features and solutions. You will enable the QRT Business Teams to scale through: * Accelerating the time it takes to design and implement new business applications and features whilst assuring sound architectural fundamentals are in place: * Creation of re-usable and implementable architecture patterns and best practices, which advance the initial design and development phase of a project. * Identifying and solving common challenges which impact application and technology teams * Fostering collaboration across QRT’s application and technology teams * Guiding adoption and delivery within QRT business groups to translate business requirements into technical designs and support development teams in creating supportable solutions within the cloud * Providing time-bound support to teams within QRT to create cloud architecture and deployment plans and help standardize cloud offerings delivery * Interfacing with cloud providers to identify new services that can be beneficial and providing feedback to them on service changes and improvements that would benefit QRT Your Present Skill Set: * Extensive knowledge of infrastructure and compute solutions and their implementation in AWS, with demonstrable experience in designing and implementing well architected cloud solutions which support cloud hosted business applications. * Knowledge of AWS core Infrastructure services (networking, security operations) * Experience with AWS compute services and technologies, including (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, EC2, Lambda): * Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into well-rounded, secure, scalable solutions which meet the needs of the customer * A demonstrable background in working at scale across a large cloud technology landscape, identifying, advising and defining best practice solutions for deploying and managing cloud native workloads. * Good knowledge of one of more coding languages, such as Python. * Experience in using an Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
