GENERAL INFORMATION As Medical Operations Manager (f/m/d) at Medigo, you will be part of a close-knit team handling incoming medical insurance claims and medical reports while providing the best possible support for the insured members undergoing medical treatment. The position is available at the earliest possible date, is offered full-time or part-time, and located in Berlin. Medigo works on a hybrid model where office attendance is required 2 days a week. YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES * You provide thorough medical assessments of incoming health insurance claims, including pre-existing condition checks and reasonable & customary price analysis. * You use your professional advice to provide input on the necessity of medical procedures and cost forecasting. * You scrutinize medical invoices to identify errors and generate potential savings, are responsible for applying best practices in cost containment, and challenge medical facilities in case of errors. * You liaise with medical providers before, during, and after admission to inquire about the patient’s status and avoid unnecessarily prolonged admissions. * You actively manage complex medical cases and coordinate between the provider, the insurance company and the member. * You are responsible for the delivery of Second Medical Opinions (SMOs) and responsible for liaising with our insurance partners on the most complex admissions. * You have the opportunity to influence and improve our processes and best practices by bringing in your own ideas. YOUR PROFILE * You have acquired medical experience during your studies, apprenticeships, and/or practical work in a medical facility such as a hospital or clinic. Ideally, you have studied Medicine at University. * Prior experience in medical service management with a public or private health insurance company or a Third Party Administrator (TPA) is a big plus. * You are fluent in English and German. Other languages are a plus, particularly Polish. * You are a professional and empathetic communicator, a genuine and active listener, and confidently lead conversations with different stakeholders. * You are a true detective: you are known for your extremely diligent way of working and for being very detail-orientated. * As an absolute team player, you comfortably ask others for help and readily offer your support wherever it is needed. * You have a valid work permit for Germany. GENERAL INFORMATION As a freelance Medical Interpreter German - Arabic (m/w/d), you will be responsible to accompany Arabic-speaking patients during their medical appointments in Berlin, Germany, and to translate from Arabic to German and from German to Arabic. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the medical professional fully understands the complaints of the patient and that the patient fully understands their medical condition, treatment options, and any care instructions given by the medical specialist. This is not a full-time position. We are looking for multiple freelancers that can support us as and when needed. YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES * You provide in-person interpretation services for Arabic-speaking patients during medical appointments with German-speaking healthcare providers. * You accurately interpret spoken communication between patients and medical staff, ensuring clarity and precision in both languages. * You assist patients in understanding medical terminology, procedures, and treatment plans. * You support patients in completing necessary paperwork, e.g. consent forms or intake questionnaires, when required. * You help facilitate a comfortable and trusting environment for the patient by providing cultural and emotional support as needed. YOUR PROFILE * You are fluent in both German and Arabic. * You have previous experience as a medical interpreter. * You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * You display a very high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. * You have knowledge of medical terminology in both German and Arabic. * You have a strong cultural understanding of Arabic-native patients. * You have the ability to remain impartial and neutral during the interpretation process. * You have the availability to travel to various medical appointments as needed.
