At Hitachi Energy Cooling Systems, we have global responsibility for the development and manufacturing of highly reliable cooling systems for power electronics and power transmission applications. Our solutions contribute to safe, efficient, and stable operation of HVDC and other high‑power installations worldwide, with quality and customer focus at the core.
Due to strong growth driven by increasing global energy demand, we are now expanding our electrical design and automation team in Landskrona. We are looking for an Electrical Designer who wants to work close to technology, production, and projects in a hands‑on engineering role.
In this position, you will design electrical solutions for cooling systems, ranging from automation cabinets and motor control centers to junction boxes and supporting systems. You will work in close collaboration with project engineers, production, suppliers, and service teams, contributing across project execution, R&D activities, and after‑sales support. As our production is based in Landskrona, the role is primarily on‑site, with some flexibility for remote work.
How you’ll make an impact
Design electrical solutions in accordance with customer specifications, internal standards, and applicable regulations.
Develop electrical designs for automation cabinets, control panels, MCCs, and junction boxes for cooling systems.
Select components and solutions for low‑voltage systems (typical voltages: 208/400/480/690 VAC and 24–220 VDC).
Create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, functional descriptions, work instructions, and quality records.
Create and manage articles and Bills of Material (BOM) in SAP.
Support testing activities, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and supplier evaluations.
Provide technical support during commissioning (SAT) and contribute to after‑sales troubleshooting and improvements.
Your background
Post‑secondary technical education in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Several years of experience in electrical design within machine manufacturing, process industry, water treatment, or similar project‑based environments.
Proven experience delivering electrical designs from concept through production, testing, and commissioning.
Strong proficiency in electrical CAD tools such as Elprocad or similar systems.
Good understanding of low‑voltage systems, redundancy concepts, and industrial electrical design principles.
Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC 61439 and IEC 61000‑6‑2 / IEC 61000‑6‑4.
A structured, communicative, and collaborative working style, with the ability to take responsibility for your own learning.
Fluency in technical English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
Meriting experience
Experience with PLC programming or automation systems.
Knowledge of UL/CSA standards and design according to these.
Understanding of the Machinery Directive and CE‑related regulations.
Hands‑on experience with electrical cabinet assembly or automation system konfiguration.

As a Project Engineer – Electrical & Automation, you will take technical responsibility for electrical and automation solutions in assigned customer projects. You will work close to customers, internal engineering teams, and production, translating customer requirements into robust and compliant design solutions. While you do not have formal personnel responsibility, you will lead the electrical scope in your projects and coordinate others in the delivery. How you’ll make an impact Take technical ownership of electrical and automation scope in assigned projects, ensuring delivery according to time, budget, and quality requirements. Verify that the electrical design is in accordance with customer specifications, including component selection and solution review. Design automation cabinets, low‑voltage motor control centres (MCC), and junction boxes (typical voltages: 208/400/480/690 VAC and 24–220 VDC). Create and work according to quality documentation such as process maps, work instructions, functional descriptions, and guidelines. Prepare technical specifications for suppliers and manage articles and Bills of Material (BOM) in SAP. Support factory testing, FAT, supplier evaluations, and commissioning activities (SAT), including occasional travel. Provide after‑sales technical support through troubleshooting and solution development when needed. Your background Solid experience in electrical design and automation within relevant industries such as machine manufacturing, process industry, or water and treatment plants. Post‑secondary technical education or equivalent professional experience as an electrical designer, project engineer, lead engineer, or similar role. Proven ability to independently design automation cabinets and motor control systems or other low voltage cabinets using Elprocad or similar electrical CAD tools. Experience working with redundant and high‑availability solutions (e.g. S2, R1, R2 concepts). Good knowledge of applicable standards and regulations such as the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), IEC 61439, IEC 61000‑6‑2 / IEC 61000‑6‑4, and CE certification. Strong proficiency in technical English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage. Join Us! About the role We are seeking a driven and innovative Industrial Engineer to join our rapidly scaling heat pump manufacturing operations. As we expand towards producing 50,000 units annually, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, integrating advanced manufacturing systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work cross-functionally to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production as we transition from scale-up to large-scale manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing workflows and production layouts to support scale-up goals. Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and improve throughput. Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to introduce new product lines and production technologies. Lead time studies, capacity planning, and equipment utilization analysis. Support automation projects, including robotics and Industry 4.0 integration. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training documentation for production staff. Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to resolve production bottlenecks or quality issues. Contribute to sustainability initiatives by optimizing energy usage and minimizing material waste in production processes. Supervise equipment development phases with suppliers, manage local & international suppliers through all phases of projects (FMEA, RFI, RFQ, FAT-Pre acceptance, SAT-Final acceptance etc.) Perform the manufacturability analysis of New Products, process and technologies Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in industrial or process engineering (within high-volyme manufacturing environment is positive) Proven knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Experience with CAD software, production simulation tools, and data analysis (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Python, SCADA).
