The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy Cooling Systems, we have global responsibility for the development and manufacturing of highly reliable cooling systems for power electronics and power transmission applications. Our solutions play a critical role in enabling safe, stable, and efficient operation of HVDC and other high‑power installations worldwide.
As power demand and cybersecurity requirements continue to grow, the boundaries between machine OT networks and customer IT environments are becoming increasingly interconnected. We are now looking for a Project Engineer – Network & Cyber Security to strengthen our engineering team in Landskrona.
In this role, you will work close to both technology and projects, acting as a key link between industrial automation systems and customer site networks. You will support secure network design, implementation, and lifecycle management of machine networks, while also serving as a cybersecurity focal point in customer projects. The role combines hands‑on technical work with coordination, documentation, and continuous improvement in a global engineering environment.
How you’ll make an impact
Design and integrate secure network architectures between machine OT environments and customer site IT networks.
Configure, commission, and support industrial network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways in project deliveries.
Act as a cybersecurity representative in customer projects, ensuring compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
Prepare and maintain cybersecurity‑related technical documentation, risk assessments, and compliance evidence.
Support troubleshooting and incident resolution during commissioning, operation, and lifecycle phases.
Collaborate closely with automation engineers, customer OT/IT teams, and suppliers to ensure robust and secure system integration.
Contribute to continuous improvement of network, cybersecurity practices, tools, and ways of working.
Your background
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Automation, or equivalent practical experience.
Several years of experience working with industrial networks and cybersecurity in OT/IT environments within sectors such as power transmission, substations, manufacturing, or process industries.
Solid understanding of industrial networking concepts, including Layer 2/3 networking, segmentation, redundancy, and routing in OT contexts.
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, or similar.
Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g. IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIST, EU CRA).
A structured, proactive, and collaborative working style, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
Meriting experience
Hands‑on experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, or industrial automation systems.
Experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, or security assessment tools.
Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or IEC 62443‑related training.
Exposure to virtualization, high-availability networks, or secure remote access solutions in industrial environments.

Do you want to work on automotive software where correctness, timing and safety actually matter? At Knowit Connectivity, we work with embedded systems in areas like ADAS, electrification and connected vehicles. Our projects typically involve safety-critical functionality, complex system interactions and real constraints on performance and reliability. We are now looking for a senior software engineer who wants to work close to the technology and take responsibility in technically demanding environments. What you’ll work on Depending on the project, you might: Develop safety-critical software in C/C++ for embedded systems Work close to the OS layer using RTOS, Linux or QNX Debug and optimize systems where timing and resource constraints are critical Collaborate with system engineers, testers and hardware teams to ensure end-to-end functionality Contribute to architecture, design decisions and technical direction Many of our assignments involve standards such as AUTOSAR and ASPICE, where traceability, testing and quality are integral parts of the development. What we’re looking for You likely have several years of experience working with embedded or automotive software and are comfortable working in complex systems. We think you: Have solid experience in C/C++ Understand embedded systems and low-level behavior Have worked with RTOS, Linux or similar environments Are used to working with quality requirements, testing and structured development processes Can collaborate across roles and communicate technical trade-offs Experience with AUTOSAR, ASPICE, automotive communication protocols or tools like Vector is valuable. Knowledge of Rust is a plus. Fluency in Swedish is beneficial depending on the project. Why Knowit Connectivity? We focus on technically challenging assignments where you can continue to grow as an engineer, not just deliver. At Knowit Connectivity, you: Work with other experienced engineers in embedded and automotive systems Get influence over assignments and technical direction Join teams rather than being placed alone in projects Have access to a broader network within Knowit, while keeping a close team locally Interested? Let’s have a conversation. We’re happy to tell you more about the projects and how we work.
