The mission
In this role, you will be the driving force behind process innovation and stabilization as we transition from development to high-volume production. Some of your responsibilities include:
Leading the conversion of R&D developments into production-ready processes, ensuring new materials, device designs, and process steps are translated into stable roll-to-roll operations with defined process windows and control strategies.
Industrializing concepts and pilot processes, moving from lab and pilot scale to full production through structured scale-up, risk mitigation, qualification, and ramp-up activities.
Acting as the technical bridge between R&D, production, and equipment suppliers, aligning experimental intent with industrial constraints such as uptime, yield, throughput, and maintainability.
Defining and implementing manufacturing-ready process architectures, including material flow, process sequencing, control philosophy, and acceptance criteria.
Owning the introduction and conversion of new equipment into production, from technical specification and procurement through FAT/SAT, commissioning, process qualification, and handover to operations.
Safeguarding yield and performance during and after conversion, identifying critical-to-quality parameters, implementing monitoring strategies, and ensuring early detection of drift or instability.
Driving structured change management, owning process changes end-to-end—from planning and execution to follow-up, documentation, training, and continuous improvement.
This is a role where strategic vision meets practical execution, where you will influence long-term production strategy while staying close to the technology that makes it possible.
You will be working from our headquarters in Linköping, where we have our offices, lab and production facilities. You will report to our CTO.
Who are we looking for?
You are a highly experienced professional with a strong technical foundation and a proven track record of delivering impactful process improvements. Specifically, you bring:
A Master’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
10+ years of experience in production process development and industrialization, with a clear track record of converting development projects into stable, high-volume manufacturing
Demonstrated success in technology transfer, including scaling processes, qualifying equipment, defining process windows, and establishing production control
Project leadership skills, capable of driving complex, long-term conversion initiatives across R&D, operations, quality, and external suppliers
Solid understanding of roll-to-roll plastic processing, either through hands-on experience or deep theoretical knowledge of web handling, coating, drying, lamination, and converting processes
Preferably, experience with roll-to-roll processing of functional materials and/or printed electronics, including the challenges of multilayer structures, functional coatings, and sensitive materials
Comfort operating in a developing market and evolving organization, where priorities shift and conversion paths must be adapted as technology matures.

MicroDri is a Swedish deep-tech company based in Linköping, developing next-generation industrial drying systems based on continuous microwave technology. About the Role As a Mechanical Engineer at MicroDri, you will play a key role representing mechanical design expertise within our technical team. You will work broadly and hands-on with development, mechanical design, prototyping, assembly, and testing. This role goes beyond traditional mechanical design. You will participate in early concept discussions, develop mechanical solutions, work closely with manufacturing and testing, and contribute to dialogues with external suppliers and partners. Over time, we see the role evolving into a broader responsibility for the mechanical engineering area, where you will coordinate design-related matters, supplier interactions, and technical decisions connected to mechanical development. We are looking for someone who understands what happens after a drawing leaves the screen — how components are manufactured, assembled, tested, and function in real-world conditions. The work is primarily carried out on-site in our workshop/facility, where you will be involved in both the construction and verification of our systems, as well as at our office in Linköping. We believe you have At least 6 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer Experience working with complex industrial product development A solid understanding of the entire development chain — from design to production and finished solution Experience working closely with manufacturing, workshops, or prototype building A practical and solution-oriented mindset The ability to work independently and take ownership within your area of expertise An interest in gradually taking on broader technical responsibility, for example within mechanical development, supplier dialogue, and technical coordination You need to have a broad technical understanding and feel comfortable taking responsibility in technical environments. You will work closely with our microwave experts, system/control specialists, and other parts of the development team. The mission As Senior R&D Engineer, your mission is to strengthen and accelerate our technology development by connecting deep technical understanding with practical implementation. You will work hands-on with our materials and processes to understand their behavior, identify limitations, and define what needs to be improved or rethought. Based on this, you will drive and support development initiatives, from material improvements and new processing approaches to solving complex challenges impacting performance, reliability, and scalability. About the Role As Electrical Engineer at SeaPattern, you will be responsible for designing and integrating the electrical systems that power our turbine installations. The role includes everything from electrical architecture and cabinet design to testing, commissioning, and field support. You will take ownership of the electrical system throughout the development cycle — from early prototype stages to deployed operational systems — ensuring robust, compliant, and high-performing solutions. Your work will include: Designing electrical system architectures for turbine platforms Integrating OEM motor drives and grid-tied inverter systems Designing low-voltage three-phase electrical cabinets Producing wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Supporting installation, commissioning, and testing activities on-site This is a role for someone who enjoys both detailed engineering work and being involved hands-on in the field. You will be part of a fast-moving engineering environment where collaboration and initiative are highly valued. On a typical project, you may be involved in selecting electrical components, creating cabinet layouts, troubleshooting systems during commissioning, or working alongside colleagues to improve system reliability and performance. Key responsibilities include: Developing robust and safe electrical system solutions Designing and commissioning electrical cabinets for low-voltage three-phase systems Ensuring compliance with applicable grid connection standards and regulations Supporting prototype development and field deployment activities Creating and maintaining wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, electrical schematics and technical documentation. Contributing to BOMs and manufacturing documentation Who We’re Looking For We believe you are an engineer who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical mindset. You are comfortable taking ownership, solving problems collaboratively, and adapting in a dynamic development environment. To succeed in this role, you likely have: A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field At least 5 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience Experience from industrial, marine, or renewable energy sectors You should have solid knowledge of motor drive systems, frequency inverters, and grid-connected electrical systems, along with experience designing and commissioning electrical cabinets. You are confident in creating clear electrical schematics and technical documentation and communicate professionally and fluently in English.
