We are now looking for a Test Engineer who wants to help shape the next generation of renewable energy technology.
About the role
As a Test Engineer at SeaPattern, you will be responsible for testing and verifying the mechanical and electrical systems in our
turbines. Your work will cover the full testing process, from component-level testing to end-of-line (EoL) and system-level
functional testing in our workshop.
You will also plan test campaigns together with the engineering team and carry out field tests at hydropower plants. The role is
hands-on and involves developing test methods and equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, documenting
results, and using test data to drive improvements.
You will work closely with our electrical and mechanical design engineers throughout the testing and verification process.
Your work will include:
- Testing and verifying mechanical and electrical systems in our turbines, from component-level testing to end-of-line (EoL) and
system-level functional testing in our workshop.
Planning test campaigns together with the engineering team and carrying out field tests at hydropower plants.
Developing test protocols, test plans, and test rigs.
Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems when issues arise during testing, both in the workshop and in the field.
Documenting test results throughout the testing process and driving improvements based on data.
Working closely with electrical and mechanical design engineers.
Who we're looking for
We believe you're an engineer who combines a structured approach with a practical, hands-on mindset. You enjoy understanding how
complex systems behave in the real world, troubleshooting technical problems, and turning test results into concrete improvements.
You are comfortable taking significant ownership of your work and enjoy being part of a small, fast-moving organization in an
intensive phase of development.
To succeed in this role, you likely have:
An M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in testing and verification of mechanical or electromechanical systems.
Experience working hands-on with technical systems while maintaining a structured approach to testing and documentation.
The ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and identify root causes of technical issues.
A structured and analytical approach to documenting and evaluating test results.
Experience within renewable energy, marine technology, or manufacturing is considered an advantage.
You enjoy working closely with colleagues, communicate clearly in English, and are motivated by developing next-generation
renewable energy technology.
