Location: Lisbon About the job: This function plays a key role in strengthening our Finance & Accounting function as we expand operations across Portugal. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and full compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting & Reporting * Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing. * Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and management reports in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). * Support the Accounting Manager in group consolidation activities and audit coordination. * Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate cost allocation across projects and entities. Tax & Compliance * Ensure compliance with local tax obligations, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax. * Liaise with external advisors and auditors to manage statutory filings and audit requirements. * Support intercompany accounting, transfer pricing documentation, and tax reporting for cross-border operations. Process Improvement & Systems * Contribute to the rollout and optimization of accounting systems (ERP, expense management, automation tools). * Streamline processes and controls to ensure scalability as the company expands into new markets. * Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures that align with group standards. * Lead and improve internal control and financial reporting processes. Business Partnering * Work closely with FP&A, Treasury, and Project teams to provide reliable financial data and insights. * Support project-level accounting for infrastructure investments, including CAPEX tracking and cost control. * Translate accounting outputs into actionable information for management decision-making. Requirements * Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Certified Accountant (CC) in Portugal, or in the process of certification. * 5–8 years of experience in accounting, preferably in similar role, audit, infrastructure, or multinational environments. * Strong knowledge of Portuguese GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus. * Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP, or similar). * Ability to build strong relationships across teams and earn trust through professionalism and reliability. * Fluency in Portuguese and English. * Experience in capital-intensive or project-based industries (e.g., energy, construction, real estate, or data centers) is a plus. * Previous involvement in process automation or system implementations. * A proactive mindset with the ability to balance detail orientation and speed.
