Having sold over 25 million unique objects, our mission is to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by three core values. If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us. * Taking ownership and driving impact * Being open to change and feedback * Being passionate about our mission and our customers. ABOUT THE ROLE Ready to own the numbers behind extraordinary objects? At Catawiki, every day brings something extraordinary. From rare collectibles to iconic memorabilia, millions of special objects pass through our marketplace. Behind the scenes, our Finance team helps keep everything running smoothly as we continue to grow internationally. We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant to join our Accounting & Reporting team. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, a proactive mindset and the confidence to independently manage accounting responsibilities in an international and fast-moving environment. While this role is based in Portugal, you will work closely with our Finance team in the Netherlands and collaborate daily with stakeholders across the business. As Finance is not yet locally represented in Portugal, this is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, works well independently and feels comfortable operating in a highly collaborative remote setup. You won’t just process numbers; you’ll help strengthen the financial backbone behind millions of special objects while contributing to smarter and more scalable Finance processes. WHAT YOU’LL DO You will become a trusted owner of selected accounting areas and help ensure Catawiki’s financial reporting remains accurate, reliable and scalable as the business continues to grow internationally. Beyond the month-end close, you’ll help strengthen processes, improve reporting quality and partner with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to solve accounting and reporting challenges. YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES * Own selected month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews * Manage accounting areas or entities through the close process with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness and timely delivery * Act as a key Finance partner to Payroll, ensuring accurate payroll processing and payment controls * Analyse financial movements and variances and provide clear insights to stakeholders * Ensure accounting activities are performed in line with internal policies and reporting requirements * Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating follow-ups * Work with external accounting partners for foreign entities and support local reporting activities where needed * Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting questions * Use Workday Financials in your daily work and support process improvements where relevant * Represent Accounting & Reporting in cross-functional projects and assess the impact on Finance processes and controls * Proactively identify risks, issues and opportunities for simplification * Drive improvements in Finance processes, controls and reporting to support scalable and efficient ways of working You’ll gain broad exposure to accounting and reporting in a growing international marketplace environment. WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE EXCITING? * High ownership and autonomy: This is a role with a high level of trust and responsibility. You’ll independently manage accounting areas end to end while staying closely connected with the wider Finance organisation remotely. * International exposure: You’ll work with stakeholders across multiple countries and support accounting and reporting activities in an international marketplace business. * Real impact: You won’t just prepare journals; you’ll help improve processes, strengthen controls and contribute to better financial insights and decision-making. * A modern way of working: You’ll be part of an international Finance team that collaborates digitally, values ownership and embraces continuous improvement, automation and scalability. Collaboration beyond borders: Although your day-to-day collaboration will happen remotely, we believe personal connection matters too. You can expect occasional travel to Amsterdam or our Portugal office to connect with colleagues, collaborate in person and strengthen team relationships. WHAT YOU’LL BRING We’re looking for someone with strong accounting fundamentals who combines ownership, analytical thinking and attention to detail with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. Experience & background * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar, preferably obtained in Portugal * Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) status or equivalent * Solid experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international, marketplace, e-commerce, platform or tech environment * Hands-on experience with month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations * Strong understanding of accounting principles; IFRS knowledge is a plus * Experience supporting audits and working with internal or external stakeholders * Experience with Workday Financials is a plus * Fluent in English, both written and spoken WHERE YOU’LL WORK This role is based in Portugal and forms part of our Accounting & Reporting team within Finance, headquartered in the Netherlands. WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING WITH US * Create a visible impact by working at scale in a global organisation serving millions of customers across 80+ categories. In our flat structure, every role has a broad scope and directly impacts both our customers and the business. * Learn and grow through our Learning & Development initiatives, including clear development plans and mentorship programmes to support your career progression. * A culture of connection defines us. We’re a passionate, diverse team of 800+ Catawikians representing 60+ nationalities. We foster an inclusive and queer-friendly environment where everyone is encouraged to bring their full self to work. * Celebrate life’s moments with us. You’ll receive a €100 Catavoucher when you join, a €50 Catavoucher on your birthday, and an extra day off each year to “Pursue Your Passion”. We also offer additional leave for key work anniversaries and important life events. Benefits may vary by location. OUR OFFICES AND WAY OF WORKING Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based. INTERESTED? Apply with an English CV and Cover Letter. By applying, you agree to Catawiki’s Applicant Privacy Policy. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Location: Marbella, Spain (Office-based) Department: Finance Reporting to: Finance Manager ABOUT NEXGEN CLOUD: NexGen Cloud is the company behind Hyperstack, a full-stack AI cloud serving tens of thousands of customers from AI researchers to enterprises running the world's most compute-intensive workloads. We deliver on-demand and private GPU infrastructure to teams who treat performance as a requirement, not a feature. We're a tight-knit, fast-moving team working at the cutting edge of AI cloud infrastructure. We practice what we preach, equipping our people with AI at every level so we can solve harder problems, ship faster, and keep raising the bar for what enterprise GPU infrastructure looks like. THE ROLE: Senior Management Accountant This role exists because the Group is scaling fast — currently spanning the UK and further EU jurisdictions (and potentially the US) under active consideration. You'll take full ownership of the month-end close cycle, statutory reporting, and finance system development across all Group entities, ensuring accounts are complete, accurate, and ready for sign-off. Sitting between the Finance Manager and the wider finance team, you'll supervise and quality-check all output before it reaches him — freeing him up to focus on financial governance, banking relationships, multi-jurisdiction tax, and strategic finance. Role positioning: this is a role for someone who wants real ownership of the numbers, thrives on structure and detail, and wants to help build a scalable finance function as the business expands internationally. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Rather than a long checklist, here's what success in this role looks like: * Own the month-end close process end-to-end across all Group entities — currently the UK and Sweden, with Canada and Finland coming online * Review and quality-check all output from the wider finance team before it reaches the Finance Manager for sign-off * Produce the reporting pack for each entity, own month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, intercompany, eliminations), and keep balances fully reconciled * Maintain and develop the Group consolidation process as new entities and jurisdictions are added * Prepare monthly and quarterly statutory submissions, including UK VAT returns, and track filing deadlines across the Group * Keep NetSuite up to date and identify opportunities to improve system configuration and reporting outputs * Supervise and coach junior team members — allocating tasks, reviewing work, and maintaining consistent standards through the close cycle ABOUT YOU: We're more interested in how you think and work than in a perfect CV. You'll likely bring a combination of the following: Essential * Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) — finalists and QBE candidates with 5+ years' relevant experience also considered * 4–5 years' experience in management accounting with hands-on ownership of the month-end close * Proven Group consolidation experience — intercompany transactions, eliminations, and multi-entity reporting * Strong UK VAT reporting experience — preparation and submission of returns * Strong technical accounting knowledge across UK GAAP and IFRS * Experience using NetSuite, or a comparable multi-entity ERP * Ability to supervise and review the work of junior colleagues in a structured month-end environment * Willing to be full-time, office-based in Marbella — no remote or hybrid working Nice to Have * VAT or indirect tax exposure outside the UK — particularly Sweden, Canada, EU, or US sales tax * Exposure to finance system development or configuration projects * Statutory accounts preparation and direct liaison with external auditors * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, comfortable with large data sets and financial models * Experience supporting banking relationship applications or account opening processes * Background in an SME, scale-up, or high-growth technology environment WHAT WE OFFER: * Competitive salary and annual discretionary bonus scheme * Employee wellbeing benefits * 25 days of holiday, plus public holidays * Real ownership and autonomy, with the trust to take initiative * The opportunity to make a visible, meaningful impact as we scale * Clear career progression and growth opportunities in a fast-growing company * A collaborative, international culture built on trust, transparency, and ownership * The chance to help shape NexGen Cloud's team, culture, and future alongside ambitious, mission-driven colleagues MORE INFORMATION Head over to our NexGen Cloud careers page to view current openings and follow us on LinkedIn and X to learn more about our journey, newest releases, and hear exciting news in the neocloud space.
