The Cloud Engineering Team builds cloud-based solutions, supports the cloud platform and helps to drive its adoption and expansion
while also collaborating with other teams. Within the Cloud Engineering team, the IT & Systems Support team looks after the
on-prem IT infrastructure, corporate networks and end-user computing setups. The primary function of this position is to act as
the go-to person for internal IT support (1st and 2nd line), keeping our on-site hardware, operating systems and active directory
services running smoothly whilst delivering excellent internal customer service.
The primary function of this position will be to collaborate with a tight-knit team for the successful management and maintenance
of IT systems and services to ensure that the production services perform effectively, while maintaining a high level of internal
customer satisfaction. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimising key functional areas, particularly
server, network and on-prem infrastructure. You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and process problems in a timely
and effective fashion.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND TEAM The IC Team is responsible for the design and test of the integrated circuits which operate at deep-cryogenic temperatures and interact with the qubits. This role is a unique chance to work at the bleeding edge of technology development, developing new innovative circuits to tackle the engineering challenge of implementing a large scale quantum computer in silicon. You will be a key part of a multidisciplinary team, and will be involved in all the aspects of IC design cycle from initial concept to volume production. As a Principal EDA Engineer you will be supporting design teams primarily working with a design flow. It’s an analogue flow using commercial PDK’s but with internally developed add-ons to customize processes. You’ll work alongside other EDA support engineers, as the eams grow and expand their remit. FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE The role responsibilities include: * Responsible for developing and maintaining all EDA environments within the company. * Managing the EDA team resources across multiple projects and teams. * Work alongside with the design and layout engineers in the tape-out flow ensuring the quality of the submitted GDS. * Managing the interface with the foundry for ASIC fabrication flows. * Supporting the design teams providing technical expertise on tools usage and workflows. * Developing scripts to automate and improve design processes. * Debugging EDA issues including raising support tickets with tool vendors EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIALS * 15y+ of experience supporting the delivery of CMOS ASICs in advanced PDKs * Demonstrated experience interfacing foundry/aggregators with solid understanding of the fabrication deliveries and sign-off criteria. * Proficiency with the following EDA suites: Cadence Virtuoso, Siemens Calibre and Keysight ADS. * Scripting ability in most of these - Python, skill, Bash, Perl. ABOUT THE ROLE AND TEAM The Technical Bid Manager will lead Quantum Motion's end-to-end bid activity for non-dilutive funding, collaborative R&D programmes, strategic innovation opportunities and selected public/private funding submissions across our global footprint, with particular ownership of the technical content, evidence and narrative within submissions. This is a hands-on role for an experienced bid professional who can manage opportunities from horizon scanning, qualification and capture through proposal development, governance, submission, funder clarification, award/contracting support and handover to delivery. FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE * Own and continuously improve Quantum Motion's end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification and qualification through capture, bid planning, submission, award support and handover to delivery * Monitor, assess and prioritise public and collaborative R&D funding opportunities across the UK, Europe and Spain, with additional awareness of US and Australian funding routes relevant to Quantum Motion's locations and growth plans * Lead bid/no-bid recommendations, win strategies, technical win themes, value propositions, compliance matrices, work plans, action trackers, governance reviews and approval-to-submit processes * Manage cross-functional bid teams, coordinating inputs from opportunity owners, technical specialists, product, finance, commercial/legal, project delivery and external consortium partners, ensuring technical contributors are clear on evaluation criteria, evidence requirements and deadlines * Translate complex technical content, product roadmaps and research plans into strong proposal narratives covering technical excellence, impact, commercialisation, exploitation, risk, project management and route to market, making sure technical sections read consistently across work packages, milestones and deliverables * Work with Finance and programme/project teams to develop bid budgets, eligible cost models, resourcing assumptions, match-funding plans and funder-specific financial templates * Coordinate partner and consortium inputs, including statements of work, letters of support, collaboration materials, IP/commercial inputs, ethics/security considerations and supporting documents * Own quality control and compliance for each submission, ensuring funder requirements, eligibility rules, formatting, page/word limits, evaluation criteria, technical consistency and portal requirements are met * Set up and facilitate formal bid reviews, including qualification, solution/storyboard, red team, financial/operational/legal and final approval reviews * Manage funder clarifications, interview/presentation preparation, post-submission feedback, lessons learned and continuous improvement of bid templates, content libraries and processes * Maintain the bid pipeline, funding calendar, status reporting, win/loss intelligence, metrics and funder/partner insight for senior stakeholders * Build reusable bid assets including capability statements, technical summaries, technical evidence points, impact stories, partner databases, CVs/bios, facility descriptions and standard company content EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIALS * 5+ years of bid, proposal, grant or funding application experience, including ownership of complex technical, R&D, innovation or public-funding submissions, with regular responsibility for technical content coordination or review * Proven track record of leading successful bids from capture through submission and handover, ideally in deep tech, research, engineering, university, Catapult/RTO, semiconductor, computing, aerospace/defence or similarly technical environments * Strong knowledge of UK and European innovation funding landscapes, such as Innovate UK, UKRI, DSIT, Horizon Europe, EIC, Eurostars or equivalent schemes * Ability to coordinate senior stakeholders and technical specialists across multiple locations and time zones, holding contributors to deadlines without direct line management authority * Excellent writing, editing, technical content review and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex technical and commercial information into clear, persuasive and compliant proposals * Ability to review technical content with enough fluency to challenge clarity, completeness and evaluator alignment, without needing to be a quantum physicist * Strong financial and commercial awareness, including bid budgets, eligible costs, match funding, partner cost allocations and funder-specific financial templates * Highly organised and process-driven, with strong prioritisation, scheduling, version control, document management and attention to detail under deadline pressure * Confident stakeholder manager and communicator across technical, product, finance, commercial/legal, executive, funder and external partner groups * Comfortable working in a fast-paced scale-up and R&D environment where requirements, timelines and priorities can change quickly * Good working knowledge of common bid tools and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, CRM/pipeline tools or proposal management systems * Understanding of confidentiality, IP, security, export control, ethics, subsidy control/state aid and other compliance considerations relevant to technical R&D funding EXPERIENCE - OUR TEAM You will join the Cryogenic Engineering R&D team, supervised by the Staff Cryogenic Engineer. This team ensures the smooth running of our UK operations, managing state-of-the-art facilities consisting of 7+ cryogenic fridges, whilst also overseeing off-site lab deployments and installations. This position is ideal for a cryogenic engineering specialist with an interest in quantum who enjoys a fast-moving, collaborative environment with constantly evolving technical challenges. You will be responsible for design, development, characterisation and troubleshooting of key cryogenic components such as superconducting magnets, RF and DC wiring looms and innovative quantum chip-cooling technologies for use in dilution refrigerator systems. You will be working with a team of like minded cryogenic and electronics engineers and researchers with whom you will be sharing ideas on a daily basis. FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE * Cryogenic R&D: Developing new and innovative approaches to ultra low temperature signal transmission, sample cooling, miniature superconducting magnets, cryostats and other key components required to build a quantum computer. * Test and measurement: Take control of test and characterisation protocols for cryogenic and electronics components and sub-assemblies, ensuring repeatability and quality control. * Lab User support: Giving fast and efficient support to our team of research scientists to develop and maintain our experimental setups (more than 20 to date and growing) to meet constantly evolving requirements. * Production Support: Your cryogenic R&D work will feed directly into our production department and will require the development of robust assembly and test methodologies. * Supervision & Mentoring: Act as a reference point for our apprentices and other technical team members, supporting them with advice and training to build essential skills in Cryogenic engineering. EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIALS * Academic experience: A higher degree (masters or PhD level) in a relevant discipline involving low-temperature quantum measurements or equivalent industry experience. * Technical Background: R&D/production experience in a commercial or laboratory environment.
