The job As an iOS Engineer at Flo, you'll help shape the mobile experience for millions of people, and do genuinely meaningful work in women's health. Our app is trusted by 1 in 4 women aged 18–44 in the US and used across 100+ countries, with machine learning and AI powering accurate cycle predictions and personalised, medically credible health insights. We build large-scale mobile applications with rich, intuitive interfaces - optimised for speed, accessibility and privacy. You'll join a cross-functional team working across the full mobile lifecycle, from feature ideation through to release and iteration, with real ownership over value delivery end to end. We're not a feature factory. Our engineers are pragmatic problem-solvers who thrive in fast-moving environments and care about what they ship. You'll have genuine scope to experiment, lead ambitious product initiatives and implement solutions that matter - not just clear a backlog. Flo is a constantly evolving product, and we give our engineers the trust and autonomy to evolve it. Your Experience Must have: * 6+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on building, shipping, and maintaining production mobile applications. * Expert-level iOS development skills, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality apps at scale. * Hands-on experience building complex mobile applications with rich, performant UIs — experience in global consumer-facing products is a strong plus. * Deep proficiency in Swift; working knowledge of Objective-C and solid object-oriented design principles. * Strong familiarity with Apple's ecosystem — frameworks, HIG guidelines, and end-to-end App Store submission and maintenance processes. * Clear understanding of the mobile product lifecycle and comfortable working within Agile teams. * A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with the drive to take ownership and deliver. Nice to have: * Solid understanding of UX and interaction design principles, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers and advocate for quality user experiences. * Proven experience optimizing mobile app performance over constrained networks, including building and maintaining offline-first architectures. * Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, including build automation, automated testing, and release workflows. * Experience integrating with BI and analytics platforms, with familiarity in designing and interpreting A/B tests to drive product decisions. About the role We're looking for a Principal Product Engineer who pairs deep engineering craft with strong product instincts. You'll work across the stack - mobile, web, backend - wherever the highest-leverage problem happens to live that quarter. You don't wait for a perfectly scoped ticket; you partner with product, design, and data to figure out what's worth building, then ship it end-to-end. We expect breadth. We also expect real depth in the mobile app ecosystem - our customer-facing experiences live there. But we're not hiring a mobile only specialist. We're hiring a generalist with mobile chops who can lead an iOS architecture review on Tuesday and untangle a backend latency regression on Wednesday.   What you'll do * Identify, scope, and ship the changes that move business metrics - across mobile, web, services, and data layers * Architect long-lasting systems that hold up under real production conditions: performance, reliability, scalability, offline behavior, consistency * Lead technical design reviews across teams, weighing trade-offs not just in code but in product impact, time-to-ship, and operational cost * Drive operational maturity wherever it's weakest - release management, observability, incident response, performance monitoring - including in the mobile apps * Partner with PMs, designers, and engineering leaders to shape what we build, why, and in what order; you're a peer in those conversations, not a downstream implementer * Set the technical bar for the org by example: write the prototype, prove the pattern, then teach it * Communicate trade-offs clearly to engineers, product partners, and senior stakeholders   What we're looking for * 10+ years of software experience, with significant time still spent hands-on in code - track record of shipping product-impacting work end-to-end, not just owning a layer * Real depth in the mobile app ecosystem (iOS and/or Android, with strong fluency in Swift and/or Kotlin and the surrounding ecosystem - offline sync, push, auth, persistence, networking, REST/GraphQL) - and credible breadth beyond it * Demonstrated breadth: you've worked seriously in at least one of {web frontend, backend services, data/infra, platform tooling} alongside mobile, and can hold your own in code review there * Strong product judgment: you've made calls about what not to build, and can defend them with evidence * Comfort troubleshooting in production across stacks - crash analysis, latency tracing, release-health debugging * Excellent cross-functional collaboration; you make the people around you better   Nice to have * Background in marketplaces, bookings, or other transactional consumer products * Time spent close to data - experimentation, analytics instrumentation, or ML-adjacent work   Our Cultural Pillars: Traveler first We exist to create value for our customer, the traveler. We are hiring our first Senior Engineering Lead to partner directly with our first London-based Staff Product Manager. Together, you will be the founding leadership team building this hub from the ground up. Two things make London the right place for this team: Direct Engineering Impact through Proximity The UK is home to some of our most strategically important Key Accounts—major grocery chains, national coffee shop operators, and fast-casual restaurant groups. As a Senior Engineering Lead, you won't just be executing a roadmap from afar; you will be close to the partners using our technology. THE ROLE We are looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to build, lead, and establish our new engineering hub in London. You will be the founding Engineering Lead, where you will be responsible for building a high-performing engineering team from the ground up. You will recruit and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, and in close collaboration with the business owners in our Operations department, you will define the technical roadmap and deliver the solutions that power our workflows. As the Senior Engineering Lead, you will ensure your team delivers high-quality, maintainable integrations and systems. THE TECH STACK You will be leading a multi-team organization working across our company's Tech Stacks: Our marketplace backend is a Spring Boot Application on Java 25 running on a Kubernetes cluster deployed in AWS. We have two frontend React.js projects written in TypeScript, as well as an Android App written primarily in Kotlin, and an iOS App written in Swift.  RESPONSIBILITIES * Build, lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team. * Own and maintain the team's technical roadmap, ensuring it is aligned with business priorities defined by the Operations team. * Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and translate requirements into actionable work. * Manage relationships and technical work with third-party service providers and consultants. * Guide the team in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust integrations between our various systems. * Support the personal and professional growth of your team members. * Take responsibility for the team's delivery, technical quality, and schedule. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE * You have proven experience as a solution architect or senior engineer, designing and building integrations between complex systems * You have previously managed an engineering team and know how to support and grow your reports. * You can work independently and are able to create a feeling of belonging in a team that works remotely from most of the rest of the Tech team. * You are comfortable working very closely with non-technical business stakeholders to define roadmaps and priorities. * You have hands-on experience with integration technologies and patterns.
