As a Deburr Technician at Freeform, you will play a critical role in the post-processing of metal 3D printed parts for the world’s
first high-volume additive manufacturing factory. You will debur and post-process parts with complex geometries and
tight-tolerances with a keen eye for precision and attention to detail. You will have an opportunity to use a variety of tools and

CNC MACHINIST, 5-AXIS (2ND SHIFT) Freeform is deploying software-defined, autonomous metal 3D printing factories around the world, bringing the scalability of software to physical production. As a CNC Machinist (5-Axis), you will work with our engineering and manufacturing team to scale Freeform’s high-volume, vertically integrated machining operation. You will run the best-in-class multi-axis machines including DMG Mori and Haas to develop complex parts for our 3D printing factories as well as post-process metal 3D printed parts for our customers. You will also have the opportunity to develop CNC programming skills and advance in your career as a machinist. Responsibilities: * Set-up, run, and operate programs on CNC machines (DMG Mori and Haas) for complex parts. * Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or schematics under tight tolerances. * Perform on-machine deburr as well as manual deburr as needed. * Inspect parts with on-machine probing as well as with manual tools such as micrometers, thread gauges, and indicators. * Perform machine preventative maintenance and manage cutting fluid. * Take part in process improvement projects and help in constantly improving processes and the shop. Basic Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in set-up and operation of CNC machines * Experience machining aluminum, stainless, titanium, or Inconel * Experience with 5-axis machining * Experience reading blueprints, part drawings, and schematics Preferred Skills and Experience: * 8+ years of experience * Experience with Siemens controls * Experience with DMG Mori machines * CNC programming experience * Experience machining metal 3D printed parts * Experience designing, setting up, and working with complex fixtures for precision machining of high-tolerance parts * NTMA machinist certification * Experience with precision measuring instruments * Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment * Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs unassisted * Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time * Must be available and willing to work overtime when needed Location: * We are located in Hawthorne, CA in a 35,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility featuring large open spaces for team collaboration, R&D, and production, as well as easy access to the 405, 105, and 110 freeways. At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade. Your mission We are building hybrid-electric aircrafts and are establishing an in-house machine shop to support prototype, tooling, and early production efforts. We are seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist who will be the first hire in the machine shop. You will have an opportunity to play a key role in shaping machining processes, standards, and culture. This is a hands-on role requiring deep experience machining large aluminum structural components, developing robust processes, and transitioning work from prototype through low-rate production. The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgment, takes pride in craftsmanship, and operates with an unwavering commitment to safety and equipment care. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Program, set up, and operate CNC machines for prototype, tooling, and low-rate production components * Machine components of various materials (Alum, SS, Steels, Ti) of varying heat treatments. Education/Certification * Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with applicable experience is required. * 3+ years of applicable engineering experience. Skills/Competencies * Strong problem-solving skills. * Ability to provide solid rational and justification for process improvement change requests. * Lean manufacturing and new product development or launch support experience is highly desirable. * Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing preferred. * 2D and 3D drawing experience required. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Experience in medical device is preferred.
