The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking a HUB Material Planner for the insulation and components product line to join an innovative and forward‑thinking team.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with six factories across Europe to ensure a smooth and efficient material flow throughout the supply chain.
You will play a key role in developing and implementing strong forecasting routines at product line level, strengthening material planning capabilities at factory level, and supporting the S&OP process. By applying best‑practice forecasting methods and optimizing replenishment processes, you will help drive consistency, reliability, and performance across the network.

How you will make an impact
Develop and standardize forecasting and material planning processes at product line level, balancing demand and supply across short‑, mid‑ and long‑term horizons.
Act as the key operational support to the S&OP process, translating demand plans into feasible material supply and replenishment plans while assessing risks and constraints.
Strengthen material planning capabilities in factories through effective use of MRP systems to secure material availability for production and customer demand.
Support factories in maintaining purchasing parameters in ERP systems and improving internal replenishment methods to increase efficiency.
Establish and standardize routine material planning processes to be performed regularly at factory level.
Develop and position local material planners as key contributors to internal S&OP and cross‑functional collaboration.
Drive proactive collaboration with Category Managers, procurement teams, CSS and local planners to optimize material flow and operational performance.
Define performance indicators, drive digitalization and automation of KPI reporting (e.g. POWERBI), and develop training initiatives to continuously improve material management and competence.
Your background
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in material management, replenishment, or supply chain operations.
Strong expertise in SAP and excel with advanced proficiency in materials planning and scheduling.
Proven ability to standardize processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and supply chain teams, better if in multinational organizations
Ability to travel up to 30%

In this role, you will optimize our procurement processes to drive operational efficiency and ensure the timely availability of materials. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing mechanical solutions for HVDC power plants.
