Senior Catalyst Engineer Shape the Future of Hydrogen Technology
Are you an experienced catalyst engineer looking to make an impact in the hydrogen industry? Do you thrive in a hands-on
environment where science meets engineering? At Catator, you'll have the opportunity to lead the development of advanced catalyst
technologies that are accelerating the global transition to clean hydrogen.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Catalyst Engineer to become our technical expert in catalyst development and experimental
testing. In this role, you will drive catalyst innovation from laboratory concept to industrial implementation, developing
catalyst formulations, designing advanced test systems, and generating the experimental data that guides our product development.
You will work closely with our CTO, R&D team, manufacturing, and project organization while enjoying significant technical
independence and the opportunity to influence the future direction of our catalyst portfolio.
Your Responsibilities
failure investigations.
What We're Looking For
You have at least five years of industrial or applied research experience in catalyst or reactor development and enjoy solving
complex technical challenges through practical experimentation.
We are looking for a hands-on engineer with several years of industrial or applied research experience in catalyst or reactor
development. You hold a master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Physics or a related
field, while a PhD is considered an advantage.
You have extensive experience in experimental catalyst testing and a solid understanding of catalyst formulation, coating
technologies and structured metallic catalysts. Experience from fuel reforming, catalytic combustion or similar catalytic
processes is highly valued, as is the ability to design, build and operate experimental test rigs.
You are familiar with gas analysis, instrumentation and data acquisition, and have experience analysing experimental data and
translating results into practical engineering solutions. Knowledge of process automation, PLC programming, CAD or mechanical
design is considered an advantage.
As a person, you are analytical, practical and scientifically rigorous. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges, work
independently when needed, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple disciplines while maintaining a strong
focus on laboratory safety.

About Catator
Catator delivers cutting-edge catalyst solutions to the hydrogen industry. The world is rapidly transitioning to renewable energy
sources like wind and solar. However, to store energy when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing, large amounts of
hydrogen are needed: according to the International Energy Agency about 650 megatons of hydrogen per year by 2050. That’s a lot of
hydrogen!
To accelerate this green transition, Catator offers its patented and world-leading catalyst solutions to the hydrogen industry.
Catator’s solutions are used by manufacturers of fuel cell systems and hydrogen producers. We work exclusively with OEM customers,
several of which are leading multinational companies.
Catator was founded in 1990 by a group of researchers at Lund University. Over the years we have developed deep IP and know-how in
catalysis and catalytic process design. Our headquarters are located in Lund. Our premises are well adapted to our business and
include in-house production of catalysts and advanced research and test facilities.
