Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee end-to-end AP operations across Global entities, working closely
with the Finance team.
This role will combine hands-on processing, team oversight, and process ownership, ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled
execution of all Accounts Payable activities, including supplier invoicing, payments, travel C expenses, and corporate credit card
management. Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to AP team members, including review of their work and supporting their
development.

Purpose of the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Associate to support end-to-end AP operations across Global entities. This is a hands-on processing role working closely with the Accounts Payable Lead and the wider Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the accurate and timely execution of day-to-day Accounts Payable activities, including supplier invoicing, payments, travel C expenses, and corporate credit card management, while supporting a well-controlled and scalable AP department. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable — Invoice Processing * Process supplier invoices in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy of coding and cost centre allocation * Apply appropriate tax treatment to invoices, including GST and TDS for Indian entity transactions * Perform invoice validation checks including duplicate detection, completeness, and PO matching where applicable * Monitor and action invoice approval workflows in a timely manner * Run and review key AP reports such as open bills, rejected invoices, and duplicate reports * Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier queries * Allocate payments and match invoices within NetSuite * Monitor AP inboxes and workflows to ensure timely processing and prioritisation * Support payment run preparation, checking accuracy of amounts, currencies, and due dates Vendor & Data Management * Create and maintain vendor records in NetSuite, ensuring correct and complete data * Update supplier bank details in line with internal controls and approval processes * Support onboarding new vendors in compliance with company policies * Maintain accurate audit trails for all changes Travel & Expense Management * Review and process employee expense claims in line with company policy * Monitor and action expense approval workflows * Identify and reject non-compliant or incomplete claims * Respond to employee queries on expense submissions and policy requirements * Assist with expense payment cycles, ensuring alignment with payroll or payment schedules * Support travel bookings through Perk and assist with queries relating to cancellations or amendments Corporate Credit Card Management * Support the end-to-end credit card process including transaction matching and reconciliation * Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution * Monitor card usage and flag any policy non-compliance * Assist with allocation of credit card spend across entities and cost centres Reconciliations & Month-End Support * Prepare vendor statement reconciliations * Assist in month-end close activities, ensuring all invoices are recorded in the correct period * Support balance sheet reconciliations for AP accounts (prepared in India, reviewed in UK) * Investigate and help clear aged balances Controls, Compliance & Audit * Ensure all invoices are processed in line with internal policies and approval thresholds * Maintain adherence to segregation of duties and financial controls * Escalate any control issues or risks to the Accounts Payable Lead or UK Finance team Key Skills & Experience Essential * 1-3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable, Finance Operations, or similar role * Strong understanding of invoice processing and payment cycles * Experience with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite or a comparable platform * Knowledge of Indian GST and TDS compliance for local entity processing * High attention to detail and accuracy * Strong organisational skills and ability to manage high volumes * Good written and verbal communication in English, particularly for liaising with UK-based colleagues * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP and pivot tables * Experience using automation tools and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within Accounts Payable processes * Ability to work across UK and India time zone overlap hours Desirable * Understanding of UK financial control expectations * Exposure to expense & travel management platforms * Interest in process improvement or AP automation initiatives ModInclusion At Modulr, we’re committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong and can bring their whole self to work. What you'll be doing: * Prepare, schedule, and execute weekly, bi-weekly, and ad-hoc payment runs (ACH/EFT, domestic and international Wires, Checks, and Virtual Cards). * Review payment proposals for accuracy, ensuring proper approvals and matching documentation are in place prior to disbursement. * Initiate and release payments within various commercial banking portals in compliance with segregation of duties. * Monitor bank accounts daily to ensure sufficient funding is available for scheduled payment runs. * Resolve payment failures and rejects by collaborating with banking partners and vendors. * Assist the Treasury team with cash flow forecasting by providing upcoming payment schedules. * Serve as the main point of contact for complex payment-related inquiries from internal departments and external vendors. * Provide payment confirmations and remittance advices to vendors as requested. * Perform daily reconciliation of processed payments against ERP system entries and bank statements. * Ensure strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and internal audit requirements regarding cash disbursements. * Assist with month-end close activities, including outstanding check analysis, voiding stale-dated checks, and AP aging reconciliation. * Compile payment data and documentation for internal and external auditors during annual audits. What you'll need: * Shift - 6.30AM onwards * Location - Vikhroli, Mumbai (WFO) * Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable – with a specific focus on payment processing. * Minimum Graduate. * Should be an experienced problem solver with good written and verbal communication skills. * Flexible attitude to achieve results. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Advanced MS office skills. THE ROLE: The Finance Associate is a hands-on role at the centre of Oakbrook's monthly close and reporting cycle. You will own core finance processing — accounts payable, payment runs, bank postings and expense processing — alongside month-end processes including cost centre accounting, accruals and prepayments, reconciliations and recurring journals, and will deliver a suite of monthly internal and external reports to fixed deadlines. You will also play an active part in the team's automation agenda, taking ownership of automated processes as they go live and identifying further opportunities to reduce manual effort across the finance function. This role suits someone who is accurate, deadline-driven and process-minded, and who wants exposure to a fast-moving fintech finance environment spanning management accounts, financial reporting and structured funding vehicles. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Finance processing and accounts payable * Own end-to-end accounts payable processing: invoice receipt, coding, approvals, and ledger posting * Prepare and execute supplier payment runs, and complete daily/weekly bank posting routines * Perform supplier statement reviews and ledger reconciliations, resolving queries and differences * Act as back-up for daily BACS files ahead of UK working hours Month-end close and management accounting * Complete cost centre postings, monthly accruals/prepayments, and recurring journals * Reconcile intercompany balances between UK and India entities (GBP/INR) Tax and compliance (UK) * Prepare and file quarterly UK VAT returns (Making Tax Digital), including nil returns Reporting * Prepare recurring monthly reports (e.g. FLA, third-party servicer reporting, cost-to-serve) to fixed deadlines, reconciled back to the ledger Automation and process improvement * Take ownership of automated finance processes as they go live, and help identify further automation opportunities SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Essential * Part-qualified accountant (CA Inter / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or a finance/accounting degree with 2–4 years' relevant experience * Solid grounding in double-entry accounting, accruals/prepayments and reconciliations * Strong Excel skills (lookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables; comfortable working in large multi-tab workbooks) * High attention to detail and a track record of meeting fixed monthly deadlines * Working knowledge of UK VAT: return preparation and filing under Making Tax Digital, filing deadlines, and awareness of VAT groups and reverse charge on cross-border services * Clear written English for internal and external communication Desirable * Experience in financial services, lending or fintech, including exposure to partial exemption for VAT (given lending is a largely exempt supply) * Exposure to ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Microsoft Business Central, Xero) and expense platforms * Interest or experience in process automation (Power Automate, scripting, or AI-assisted tooling) * Experience working with UK-based or international teams across time zones ABOUT OAKBROOK: Oakbrook is a UK-based fintech consumer lender, providing unsecured personal loans to customers across the UK through our proprietary lending platform.
