H2GS AB will establish a new plant in Boden, Sweden for the production of green steel ("H2GS Project"). Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a leading contractor and shall carry out certain civil and installation works in the H2GS Project. In this respect, we are looking for Mechanical Site Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) to join our team in Boden, Sweden. The qualifications for the position and your job description are described below: QUALIFICATIONS (not mandatory) Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of Engineering, · Minimum 7 years of proven experience in planning, execution, and completion of mechanical projects, · Experienced in project and site management in Steel Plant or Power & Heat, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, · Experienced in rotary and static equipment installation,vessel, storage tanks, conveyor, steel construction Works and piping Works. · Experienced in subcontractor and field team management, · Advanced knowledge of industry standards and regulations (ASME, EN) related to mechanical works in industrial projects; · Fluent in English · Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams, · Excellent report drafting skills, · Strongleadership skills with the ability to effectively coordinate, motivate and inspire a team, · Ability to work and lead well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment, · Highly motivated and detail-oriented character without neither losing focus of the project goals nor the sight of the big picture JOB DESCRIPTION · Being responsible for allmechanical works within the given scope, · Management and administration of the field teams and subcontractors under charge, · Regular reporting of piping and mechanical works activities and work progress to the superiors and technical office, · Daily tracking of labour-hour efficiency in mechanical works activities, with weekly reporting to the superiors and technical office, · Checking materials before and during the installation/construction phase, · Ensuring coordination of materials and applications, · Supervising, monitoring and ensuring the piping and mechanical works activities of subcontractors and field teams, are being done by the quality standards, regulations and production methods, · Ensuring that subcontractors and field teams work by occupational safety rules during the installation/construction process, · Tracking test and control points specified in the method statements for all mechanical and steel works activities within the given scope, · Approval of the installation/construction made and reporting of non-conforming productions, · Checking subcontractors’ quantity survey and progress payments reports Our headquarters are in Stockholm and the workplace is in Boden, Luleå. Mechanical Engineer, HVDC Service The Opportunity We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our HVDC Service in Ludvika. Technology and Engineering within HVDC Service, need you who can take the Plants mechanical technical challenge for our deliveries – find the successful solution to all the way from capture teams via quotation and project delivery to customer taking over. How You’ll make an impact • You will have exciting and varied work where you will have contact with both customers and suppliers. Work with global organizations within HVDC Service and have development opportunities within the Plants electromechanical design areas of calculation and design, as a project engineer. • In this role, you will work with detailed design, large assemblies, creating drawings and technical documentation, as well as calculations for existing HVDC converter station. • You will also oversee problem solving, have technical discussions with clients and suppliers to find suitable solution for refurbishment on existing converter stations. Your responsibilities • To succeed in the role, you have a mechanical engineering degree or similar. In addition, you have good knowledge of NX and 3D-CAD, are good interest in technical solutions within electromechanical design. • Site survey, 3D scans the station and uses this information for design work. • Participate or support site installation. • Moreover, it is a merit if you have worked in global environment and manufacturing industry and/or have been a consultant in mechanical engineering. You are familiar with working with tools like CAD and FEM. • Please note that it is an important requirement to have excellent skills in Swedish and English, written and spoken alike. EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIALS * Technical Background: At least 3+ years of experience in a production, laboratory, or university environment with a strong emphasis on "making things." * Hands-on Assembly: Proven expertise in electronics assembly (PCB manufacturing/soldering), mechanical assembly, and basic machining. * Testing Equipment: Familiarity with bench-level electronic test equipment such as multimeters, VNAs and oscilloscopes. * Mentorship: Experience in training or supervising junior staff or apprentices, with a methodical approach to checking work and providing feedback. * Problem Solving: A strong intuition for hardware debugging and a proactive approach to installation and site work. EXPERIENCE - DESIRABLE * Experience working with cryogenic systems or high-vacuum environments. * Background in site installation or field engineering. * Formal qualifications in engineering or a related technical discipline (though equivalent practical experience is highly valued). * Experience with CAD software.
