The Project Engineer supports the successful delivery of engineering and commissioning projects within the Data Centre sector. Reporting to the Project Site Coordinator, the role provides technical support, project coordination, investigation, reporting, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client, quality, and company requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities. * Review project scope, technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables. * Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and support mitigation and recovery plans. * Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams. * Conduct site investigations, troubleshoot technical issues, and execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Step Gap Analysis (SGA). * Prepare technical reports, project documentation, lessons learned, risk assessments, and project status updates. * Track corrective and preventive actions, ensuring timely closeout and continuous improvement. * Support the development of engineering standards, procedures, work instructions, and best practices. * Promote compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and client requirements across all project activities. * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and operational excellence initiatives. * Support Lean, Six Sigma, digitalisation, and continuous improvement programmes. * Undertake any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned within the scope of the role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong understanding of engineering project delivery, commissioning, and construction processes. * Experience conducting technical investigations and structured problem-solving using RCA methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.). * Excellent technical writing, reporting, and documentation skills. * Strong analytical, organisational, and project coordination abilities. * Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. * Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management/document control systems. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. * Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
