About the Role As the Director of Engineering for Infrastructure at Harmattan AI, you will act as a vital management layer between
R&D modules and leadership, focusing on elevating our people and standardising our engineering excellence. This is a "hands-off"

tooling, and standardising work processes across the company without sacrificing execution speed. You will be a visionary partner
to our leadership, contributing to organisational structure and the long-term technical vision. In this role, you will lead our
Engineering Infrastructure team in Paris — the foundation that all of R&D runs on, covering CI/CD, test-bench systems, internal
developer tools, and the engineering-facing tooling that keeps every other team productive. Every engineering team in the company

About the Role As the Director of Engineering for Mission Intelligence at Harmattan AI, you will act as a vital management layer between R&D modules and leadership, focusing on elevating our people and standardising our engineering excellence. In this role, you will lead our Mission Intelligence teams across Lausanne and Paris — covering multi-agent mission planning, semantic and geometric scene understanding, and the data acquisition infrastructure that supports them. Mission Intelligence turns sensor data and operational context into mission understanding, sitting between research and shipped product. Candidate Requirements * Educational Background: A strong academic record in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or a related technical field. * Proven Leadership: Previous experience as an Individual Contributor (IC) who has successfully transitioned into a management role, allowing you to deeply understand the technical challenges your team faces. * Experience: Direct experience leading applied ML or autonomy engineering teams that have shipped production AI systems — not papers, not demos. This is research-heavy, defence-critical engineering at the boundary of physics and product, operating under cleared-environment constraints that differ from commercial work. Your mission will be to define the global technological vision and orchestrate the engineering strategy in order to guarantee the performance, SLAs, and scalability of our distributed storage systems while managing a team of engineering managers and technical experts. You will be part of a team of 30 to 50 people. The Storage Tribe builds and operates the critical infrastructure that powers our customers' data needs at a massive scale. Managing hundreds of petabytes of data, the team develops homegrown object and block storage platforms using technologies like Ceph and distributed encoding. The team is organized into squads led by Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, covering low-level development, SRE, and production stability. Manager information: You will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
