As backend engineers, we work on applications such as REST APIs, dashboards, tools, and internal services that allow our clients and users to access their benefits flexibly, easily, and reliably whenever needed.
Main responsibilities 🧩
Software Engineering
Write high-quality, well-documented, efficient, tested, and maintainable code
Ensure and improve observability and monitoring of our applications
Proactively focus on enhancing other team members’ technical skills, coding standards, and overall code quality
Learn new programming languages when needed
Actively work on improving the security, performance, and stability of applications
Conduct and receive high-quality code reviews
Design and Architecture
Provide technical guidance by contributing to informed, objective, and simple solution discussions
Propose architectural solutions, collaborating and mentoring other team members to meet both functional and non-functional requirements
Execution and Delivery
Estimate and plan timelines for deliverables with stakeholders and the product team
Leverage existing Swile solutions to align with global platforms
Work with loosely defined or ambiguous requirements to help shape better solutions alongside product and team members
Build incremental solutions with the product team to promote continuous improvement and delivery
Focus on delivering well-tested and automated features, including E2E tests, to ensure application stability
Monitor and respond to incidents in production
Leadership
Lead projects, ensuring delivery within estimated timelines
Help technically grow team members by being a role model
Participate in hiring processes for engineers at the same or lower levels
Minimum Requirements ✅
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields—or equivalent practical experience
Professional experience in software engineering using Java or Kotlin
Experience in designing and developing distributed systems
Experience with technologies such as Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar
Experience with relational and non-relational databases
Clear and effective communication skills
Advanced English C1 level

In this role, you will be a primary builder of 0-to-1 tools designed to revolutionize how our sales teams operate. This isn't about maintaining legacy systems; it’s about writing the code and building the intelligence models that eliminate friction across the Go-To-Market stack. Working under Senior Technical Leader’s guidance, you will be responsible for building and productionizing agentic workflows and RAG pipelines to automate sales processes. You will integrate AI services into the tech stack while maintaining rigorous standards for observability and performance monitoring. A day in the life (Responsibilities) * Hands-on Execution: Spend the majority of your time "hands-on-keyboard" , architecting and coding high-performance backend services and ML pipelines. * 0-to-1 Development: Build and prototype new internal products from scratch that leverage LLMs and Agentic AI to automate account research, lead prioritization, and complex quoting logic. * Infrastructure Integration: Develop the backend connective tissue between our custom quoting engine, Salesforce, and internal data lakes to ensure a seamless, low-latency end-to-end experience. * Technical Problem Solving: Act as a key executor to solve complex synchronization and architectural challenges across the GTM stack, ensuring systems are scalable and resilient. * Build Great Products: Deliver significant core capabilities that have broad impact; take high-level goals and turn them into sequenced, production-ready code. * Problem Solve: Anticipate shifts in product needs and build flexible, decoupled backend systems that can evolve with our AI strategy. * Deliver Quality: Ensure the reliability of GTM tools by building deep observability into every service you ship. What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) * Deep Backend Expertise: Extensive experience in backend languages (Java, Go, Python) with a track record of building complex, distributed systems. * Applied AI/ML Skills: Practical, hands-on experience building LLM agents in a production environment. * Systems Architecture: Ability to implement event-driven architectures and manage data flow across disparate systems with high integrity. * Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
