We're looking for a Senior Product Operations Manager I to design and own the operational systems that make our product org faster, smarter, and more aligned. You'll go well beyond executing processes — you'll redesign them from the ground up, build frameworks that scale, and influence how product leadership makes decisions. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to Directors and VPs, and a real opportunity to shape how the org runs. You will work remotely from Bulgaria and will be reporting to the Director, Technical Programs and Ops. You Will: * Own and continuously evolve the product operating rhythm — planning cycles, OKR frameworks, launch readiness, and cross-functional retrospectives * Redesign inefficient processes end-to-end; build SOPs and playbooks that get adopted broadly, not just filed away * Design product health dashboards that connect operational metrics to business outcomes; move the conversation from "what happened" to "what do we do next" * Own tooling strategy for your area — evaluate, configure, and drive adoption of systems (including Smartsheet as a system of record) that reinforce accountability and visibility * Identify AI augmentation opportunities within operational workflows and build them out; reduce manual overhead and increase leverage across the team * Partner directly with Directors and VPs to surface operational insights that inform investment and prioritization decisions * Mentor peers and actively contribute to building the Product Ops function * Perform other duties as assigned You Have: * 6+ years of experience in product operations, strategy and operations, or a closely related field * A track record of redesigning operational processes with measurable impact — faster planning cycles, cleaner launches, better data visibility * Strong data fluency: you design measurement frameworks, not just read dashboards, and you connect operational metrics to business outcomes * Experience influencing Director and VP-level stakeholders through operational insight and well-structured recommendations * Builder mindset: you prototype and automate solutions rather than waiting for direction from the top * Deep cross-functional instincts — you've built durable bridges between product, engineering, design, and GTM * Experience with Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools at a systems level, not just as a user * Experience in a high-growth technology company * Business or technical degree, or equivalent experience * Legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis * Fluency in English is required Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity. You own the full engagement lifecycle from technical discovery through production deployment through solutions org handoff. You architect multi-agent solutions, design client-personalized MCP resource packs, and build the Deployment Kits that transform how 200+ solutions consultants and partners operate. You mentor junior FDEs, drive the intelligence loop, and present field findings at weekly Applied AI strategy sessions. You are building a function, not filling a role. What You Will Do * Lead complex, multi-system AI deployments end-to-end scope, architect, build, validate, and manage the customer relationship throughout. * Own the AI workshop program for your pod, customize modules per customer, lead technical sessions, translate outputs into production requirements, evolve content from field learning. * Architect multi-agent solutions selecting the right coordination pattern for each customer’s workflow characteristics and compliance requirements. * Design client-specific and industry-specific MCP resource packs that serve personalized intelligence from the server so every connected AI surface gets smarter for that customer automatically. * Own Deployment Kit quality for your pod. If a kit is not documented well enough for a solutions consultant with no engineering background to follow, it isn’t done. * Lead Solutions Enablement Sprints: transfer AI deployment patterns to solutions consultants and partners with training materials and certification criteria. * Drive the intelligence loop: author strategic memos, present field findings weekly, contribute Agent Bricks and Skills, file RFCs for platform improvements. * Mentor junior FDEs on customer engagements, code reviews, and Deployment Kit quality.   Required * 6–10+ years production software engineering, including 3+ years deploying AI/ML to production. Deep Python; strong TypeScript/JavaScript. * Proven track record leading complex enterprise technical engagements. You’ve managed customer relationships, navigated security reviews, and delivered production systems organisations depend on. * Deep production LLM experience: multi-agent orchestration, MCP/tool-use, RAG optimisation, evaluation frameworks, agent deployment at scale. * System architecture expertise spanning enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI services explainable to a CIO and a junior engineer. * Demonstrated ability to create reusable technical assets that others use in production. You think in platforms, not projects. * Strong written and verbal communication. Architecture documents, runbooks, strategic memos, training materials. Your Deployment Kits are your portfolio. * You leave teams better than you found them. In this role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust security features for our SaaS product that will delight our customer CIOs. This position involves working on challenging problems at the intersection of application development and security, directly contributing to the resilience and trustworthiness of our platform. You Have:  * 5+ years of progressive software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on building security features or secure applications, demonstrating sustained growth in technical depth and professional knowledge. * A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience providing the same level of knowledge and competency. * Expert-level proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, with a proven history of building scalable and secure applications. * Deep experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.), particularly in securing cloud-native applications, and familiarity with the tools, platforms, and infrastructure involved in multi-cloud environments. * Experience developing, documenting, and supporting secure REST APIs, with attention to detail in both implementation and written technical documentation. * Strong understanding of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and mitigation techniques, with the ability to apply this knowledge independently and under pressure. * Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes) in a secure development context. * Proficiency with modern security tools and practices, including static application security testing (SAST), dynamic application security testing (DAST), and software composition analysis (SCA). * Proven ability to troubleshoot complex security-related problems in high-pressure production environments, demonstrating critical thinking and sound independent judgement. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels. * 1+ year of professional experience leveraging AI-based workflows to author, maintain, review, deploy, and maintain code. * 1+ year of experience building AI features that incorporate generative AI or agentic workflows to solve customer problems with measurable business impact. * Comfort working with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, with the psychosocial resilience to manage sustained cognitive effort and occasional incident-driven pressure. * No direct financial responsibility is associated with this role, though awareness of cost implications in architectural and tooling decisions is expected. * Ability to work independently in a remote setting within a psychologically safe and inclusive team environment, with standard flexible working hours aligned to the Bulgaria time zone and no travel requirements expected for this role. * Legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis. * Fluency in English is required.
