secure. As a Fullstack Software Engineer, you will design and build the systems and experiences that power how millions of people
connect to their finances.
You will work across the stack, building scalable backend services and APIs while also crafting intuitive, high-quality frontend
experiences that bring those systems to life. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy switching between backend problem-solving
and frontend user experience work, and who are excited to grow their impact across both.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ship products that are reliable, secure, and

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, as well as intuitive, high-quality frontend applications that bring those systems to life. * Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner closely with product managers and designers to define requirements and deliver features that solve real customer problems. * Maintain high code quality. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions. * Test and debug. Build automated tests, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues in production environments. * Contribute to system design. Engage in hands-on coding and architectural decisions to ensure reliability, security, and scalability. * Grow the team. Support a strong engineering culture through mentorship, thoughtful reviews, and shared ownership of technical standards. Qualifications: * 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems or features * Experience building backend services using relational databases such as MySQL, and working with microservices or service-oriented architectures * Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks or libraries, with comfort building user-facing experiences * Solid system design, coding, and testing skills across both frontend and backend * Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and other engineering partners * Experience mentoring or supporting the growth of other engineers through reviews, guidance, or leadership * Comfortable working across product, operations, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. Description of the team * The Dashboard Foundations team is the product platform team that stewards the Plaid Dashboard (dashboard.plaid.com). As both the portal for applying for production access and also the host for many products, the Dashboard is a critical touchpoint for our customers. * Our mission is to build the platform of every product engineer’s dreams, with rich tooling, abstractions, and resources available to support every phase of the software development lifecycle so that developing a high quality, secure product is fast and easy. * Our customers are over a dozen teams building in the Dashboard, representing products in areas such as Fraud, Credit, Signal, Account Verification, Transfer products, and more. * We are a full stack team made up of former product engineers, drawing upon our experience to set our north star vision. We have in-person members in New York and San Francisco as well as some members distributed in various locations across the United States. Responsibilities * You will lead a team of 8 engineers, ranging from Junior to Staff, developing them through clear goal setting, coaching, and feedback. * You’ll define and drive the long-term strategy for this foundational area, in close partnership with technical and product leaders across Plaid. * You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify high-leverage opportunities, shape the roadmap, and dive deep into technical design and execution details to ensure consistent delivery of high-impact business outcomes. * You’ll uphold a high bar for technical quality and delivery velocity, leading by example. Qualifications * 8+ years of industry experience, that includes time as a Staff-level engineer before transitioning into management. * 1+ years of engineering management experience * Deep experience designing scalable, reliable architectures that support real-world products at scale. * Track record of building and growing high performing engineering teams (either as an engineer or a manager). Responsibilities: * System Design & Development: Build and maintain scalable, reliable backend or fullstack systems and APIs that power Plaid’s products. * Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver features that solve real customer problems. * Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code. Participate in reviews to maintain high engineering standards. * Testing & Debugging: Build automated tests, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues in production environments. * Continuous Improvement: Contribute to technical design discussions, share best practices, and help improve how we build at Plaid. Qualifications: * 1-4 years of software engineering experience (post-internship). * Proven ability to ship reliable systems or features at scale. * Strong problem-solving skills.
