WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THE ROLE: * Build our Product. Own and implement software features that help to power our AI platform helping private markets investors analyze deals with velocity and accuracy. In this role you will be actively coding and delivering critical platform components from scratch. * Deliver excellence and quality. Set and uphold coding standards, architectural patterns, and review processes; mentor engineers. Co-own our culture of practical, reliable, and test-driven development that rapidly addresses business needs. * Build for Scale. Contribute to monitoring & scaling the architecture of the platform and the infrastructure. * Cross-functional collaboration. Actively partner with product, security, and go-to-market teams to translate our roadmap into features and deliverables. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE: * 4+ years of fullstack software engineering experience. * Passion for engineering and learning. * AI fluency, and ability to build with AI at the core * Knowledgeable about modern web application development practices. * Familiarity with Python, Fast API, TypeScript, Node.js, Supabase, AWS is a plus.

Senior Software Engineer (Java), Financial Products The Financial Products team at Adyen is at the forefront of our evolution, building the foundational infrastructure that enables our customers to manage their finances, issue cards, and access capital globally. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing a high-integrity financial ecosystem that goes far beyond traditional payments. This suite of recently launched products offers a rare opportunity to solve deep architectural challenges from engineering immutable ledgers and real-time decisioning engines to scaling a unified platform that operates across multiple regulatory jurisdictions. We seek engineers who possess a "customer problem first" mindset, balancing rapid product innovation with the technical rigor required to build robust, global-scale financial systems for the world’s leading enterprises.  What you’ll do: * Work on complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production. * Bring your own point of view on best engineering practices.  * Be hands-on and contribute to the implementation. * Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable. * Your code will be used at scale and you are expected to think in that mindset when building features. * We launch fast and iterate often. Concretely, this means that within your first few weeks, you will bring live functionalities that impact many merchants and shoppers.  * Build APIs and tooling according to quality principles such as performance and code quality. * Collaborate across teams and time zones to get projects over the finish line. Who you are: * You're not just a coder; you're an engineer with an ownership mentality. * You have experience with Java, Web Services, REST Apis, Webhooks and SQL/PostgreSql. * You have a good understanding of Software Engineering practices and interest in product knowledge. * You are familiar with complex large scale distributed systems. * You value involving other people to hear different perspectives. Experience in Kafka and/or Elasticsearch is a plus. * You have strong problem-solving skills, are comfortable navigating evolving priorities, and adapting quickly to unforeseen challenges * You enjoy elevating the software creation process, system design, reliability, testing, and general problem-solving of the team and broader organization * You have great communication skills and can articulate complex technical vision and strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders * You are skilled at collaborating with various people, including senior leaders, Product Managers, and other Software Engineers * You are experienced in leading technical projects in a fast-paced environment * You are a flexible team player with an eye for detail * You proactively share what you learn with the larger engineering community * Open to some domestic and international travel * Added bonus: if you have worked in customer developer experience (e.g. tooling, observability) or payment related teams in the past   Minimum qualifications: * 7+ years of experience in the software development industry  * Full professional proficiency in English * This role is based out of our San Francisco office.
