As a Full-Stack, Front-End leaning engineer at Airtable, you will have the opportunity to work with customers to deeply understand their needs and workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across product management, design, research and data science to create innovative new features that enable our customers to do their best work. You will be responsible for owning and executing the end-to-end implementation of these new features that will contribute to making our toolkit even more powerful and successful.  We currently have openings on: * The Self Serve Funnel Team (Full-Stack/FE) is responsible for onboarding and retaining users that come through our self serve channels. Airtable is infinitely configurable. This is both its greatest strength and its biggest onboarding challenge: there isn't one way to use it, so there isn't one way to teach it. As an engineer on the Funnel & Activation Team you will take advantage of frontier AI capabilities to build modern, cutting-edge onboarding experiences that push the industry standard. Please note: while we employ a hybrid working model at Airtable (flexible in working from the office or elsewhere), we are only hiring in the following locations at this time: * Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and are open to coming into our office (Embarcadero) at least ~2-3 times/week for team collaboration * Based in New York City and are open to coming into our office (Soho) at least ~2-3 times/week for team collaboration WHAT YOU'LL DO * Spec and build product features that are beautiful, consistent, and fast, that encourage exploration, and that earn the trust of our customers through predictable, reliable, and thoughtful interactions. * Work at all levels of the stack, from AWS, Node.js, and SQL to React, HTML. and CSS to build and maintain end to end products on Airtable. * Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand the needs of potential users and build a product that unlocks their potential. * Work alongside and learn from a talented group of engineers with a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds. WHO YOU ARE * You have 8+ years of industry experience with modern full-stack web development, with particular emphasis on user facing feature development and full stack work. * You have led large scale strategic initiatives and implemented technical strategy.  * You are fluent in one or more frontend and backend technologies, and are interested in programming in JavaScript and React. * You are excited by a product-oriented full stack or frontend role.  * You have a good understanding of web technologies and large-scale web application architecture. * You have a background in computer science or a related field. * You believe the best product is the one that helps users accomplish their goals while growing the business. * You take a thoughtful approach to decision making; knowing when to move fast and when to do things right. * You have strong convictions, weakly held and assume validation and iteration are a given to produce the best results. * You show strong ownership instincts and sweat the details. * You are currently based and/or will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City. We are looking for backend engineers to join our team to help improve critical product infrastructure, with a focus on building systems that have a great developer experience and will scale as we grow. We currently have openings on: * Asynchronous Serving: The Asynchronous Serving team is scaling critical systems used by Airtable’s most essential and up-and-coming product features, especially AI features. Upcoming projects include refactoring our background task queue to track its tasks in DynamoDB, adding quality of service to the job queue, and revamping a streaming service to handle 10x scale while being more resilient. * Compute: The compute pod builds and manages our Kubernetes-based platform that supports every service at Airtable, including all new AI services such as vector databases, AI evals store, and document extraction and understanding services. We have a lot of exciting foundational work in our roadmap, such as * * Overhauling our network stack and service discovery, to simplify service setup and strengthen security * Region level disaster recovery, and bringing up compute platform from 0->1 in a new region * Building custom Kubernetes operators for reliably managing some of our most critical workloads * Traffic: We are looking for founding members of our Traffic Engineering team. We recently formed a Traffic Infrastructure team to ensure that traffic across Airtable’s network and routing infrastructure is managed in a reliable, flexible, and secure manner. Some the upcoming work in this team's charter include supporting improved performance in our secondary regions (like EU), bolstering our rate limiting and admission control infrastructure, and creating a consolidated and unified stateless route execution platform. We are looking for software engineers experienced in areas of API gateway (Envoy/Nginx/Pingora), edge networking like CDN/WAF, and stateless request serving platforms.
