Stripe's payments products help accelerate many of the world's most innovative companies, and the Local Payment Methods team owns
one of Stripe's most critical workflows, a platform that processes billions of dollars in payments annually. We're looking for a
senior Technical Program Manager who's passionate about solving problems in the complex payments landscape, not only serving our
customers but also our financial partners and regulatory stakeholders.Payments continues to see innovations such as an
acceleration in payment methods coming online in the form of Buy Now Pay Later, Digital Wallets, and Crypto payments. Such payment
methods provide more benefits to merchants and enable functionality that was not present before. The Local Payment Methods team
builds the platform and enables payment methods that connect to millions of Stripe users globally. We're responsible for building
new product experiences that help providers to improve their integration, boost their conversion, and grow their business. We also
own the end-to-end journey for users adopting new payment methods.
As a TPM, you'll play a key role leading complex programs across multiple engineering, product, and cross-functional (finance,
legal, compliance, risk, and other) teams spanning Stripe. You'll be an active contributor to the overall strategy of the program,
drive technical decision-making, and drive the execution of the program through all phases from planning to delivery. You'll have
the opportunity to implement mechanisms that make your programs effective and scale them to Stripe-level processes.

ABOUT THE TEAM APAC Payins TechOps is a newly formed team based in Singapore. Our charter is to improve the health and resilience of our payment acquiring volume, making it easier for Stripe to build and operate the integrations that support hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually. Our team partners closely with payments and platform engineering teams to assess systems or processes that create high operational workloads, then develops durable solutions via code, tooling, data, and process improvements. We are responsible for the financial data quality of key systems at Stripe, ensuring that data is quarantined without impacting downstream systems while implementing the right changes upstream to prevent recurring issues. The team's work has a direct impact on Stripe's ability to expand into new markets and offer more sophisticated payment features to merchants. WHAT YOU’LL DO RESPONSIBILITIES * Scope and lead technical initiatives end-to-end: identify problems worth solving, propose the right solution approach, and deliver on that solution — not just execute on a pre-defined plan. * Investigate problems in systems by tracing problems through Stripe’s stack. You’ll examine code, write SQL queries, read logs, and inspect data pipelines to understand system behavior, then make changes to address. * Examine updates being made by Stripe’s financial partners to understand impact, and make the changes within Stripe to gracefully handle. * Design future anomaly detection systems and tools to ensure that financial data flowing through our partner and internal systems is reliable and correct. * Identify and automate inefficient or unnecessary manual processes by making direct code changes, or coordinating more complex code changes across Stripe. * Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting. * Engage with Stripe's financial partners to drive alignment on product usage, troubleshoot and solve technical problems or breakages. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Have 3+ years professional experience in a technical role (eg: Technical Operations, Software Engineer, etc.) or a technical user facing role (e.g. Solutions Architecture, Integration Engineer). * Write high-quality code that scales effectively. * Expertise in SQL and data visualization, proven experience analyzing complex datasets. * Comfort with developer tools (e.g. git). * Strong technical problem-solving skills, able to understand technical systems using a variety of methods. These include reading/writing code, reading documentation or partner specifications, debugging, asking well-formed questions to domain experts, or digging into raw data. * Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences. * A strong interest in understanding the root cause of issues and building a durable solution. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with accounting, financial reporting, and/or compliance domains. * Experience leveraging LLMs to streamline processes and reduce manual work.

ABOUT THE TEAM The Payments organization owns some of Stripe’s most critical payment flows and a platform that processes hundreds of billions of dollars in payments a year. Our team is responsible for translating complex partner specifications related to network costs (interchange and scheme fees) into simplified logic for internal and external consumption. This also drives decisions and product recommendations to manage the underlying network costs paid by Stripe and our users. The team partners closely with the engineering, product, finance, and partnership groups to manage and understand Stripe’s network costs. Our work is core to Stripe’s business, as Technical Operations roles in Payments are a dynamic and key component of Stripe's success. We sit at the intersection of product/platform engineers and financial partners, connecting them to ensure that everyone thrives and nothing is lost in translation. WHAT YOU’LL DO We are looking to add payment enthusiasts who enjoy interpreting complex cost structures and ever changing payment network systems in order to optimize on behalf of Stripe and our users. You will be instrumental in building Stripe’s approach to managing our global network cost base. RESPONSIBILITIES * Collaborate across the company, including engineering, accounting, financial partnerships and product teams, to analyze billions of dollars moving through the Stripe platform. * Translate network specifications into implementation instructions to create billing models for new and revised fees (both scheme and interchange) * Influence product strategy to minimize network costs * Work with Product and Engineering to implement cost saving opportunities * Partner with Finance to prioritize areas for investment and explain trends in costs and margin impact * Monitor and maintain the accuracy of the fees through validation and alerting * Creating fee explainability to internal and external stakeholders * Hosting education sessions for internal teams to scale knowledge * Introduce data and process efficiencies to meet the scale and speed of Stripe. Identify and automate inefficient operational processes to reduce manual workloads * Scale our network cost operation by driving the design, documentation, and training of operational processes to leverage partner relationships.
