Are you passionate about Mineral Resource Estimation? We are looking for a Senior Resource Geologist to join our team on a one-year temporary contract.
Description
As a Senior Resource Geologist, you will work in close cooperation with our mines as well as exploration and technical departments to facilitate development across our mines and projects. The tasks are performed independently or as part of a project team. You will work with a variety of Boliden’s operations and projects, and occasional travel may be required. The department provides expertise in project evaluation, modelling and resource estimation with the aim to support business-critical decisions in exploration and mining. The department also supports reporting in accordance with the PERC Reporting Standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor less experienced resource geologists in the team.
- Perform resource estimation and geological modelling.
- Verify geological data.
- Support mine geology and exploration teams in their work processes and decision-making.
- Provide data for and contribute to technical studies.
- Prepare technical reports in English.
- Present results to both management and colleagues.
- Assist with the annual compilation of Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves.
Qualifications
- A BSc or higher degree in geoscience or another relevant field.
- At least five years of experience in resource estimation. Additional experience in the mining industry is beneficial.
- Ability to take initiative, work efficiently and adapt positively to change.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Leapfrog, Datamine, Deswik).
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
- A category B driving licence is required.
