Work tasks A hybrid role involving high-precision internal assembly and global field service missions to install and maintain cutting-edge measurement technology. Assemble electronic and mechanical components in the production facility Perform precision soldering on both through-hole and surface-mount components Install and commission advanced optical measurement systems on railway vehicles Conduct maintenance and calibration of systems to ensure international standards Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechatronic systems in the field and workshop Measure vehicles and plan for system deliveries at client sites Collaborate on quality assurance to improve system performance in harsh environments We are looking for Advanced knowledge of mechatronics, electronics, or optics Basic knowledge of technical drawing interpretation for mechanics and electronics Proven experience in electronics assembly and precision soldering Professional proficiency in Swedish and English Possession of a B-class driver's license It is meritorious if you have Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering and troubleshooting Previous experience within the railway industry Knowledge of IoT products or systems Experience with IPC-standard soldering To succeed in the role, your personal skills are: Change oriented Goal oriented Orderly Responsible Intellectually curious Our recruitment process This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our client’s wish that all questions regarding the position is directed to Academic Work. Collaborate with hardware, firmware and cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions. Contribute to continuous improvements across hardware development processes, documentation and product quality. What will help you succeed Proven experience in electronic hardware development (typically around five years). Experience using ECAD tools within a product development environment. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges. Experience with Altium Designer is an advantage. About the Role As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering full lifecycle commissioning services for critical facilities and complex mechanical infrastructure systems. You will support the planning, coordination, execution, testing, and verification of mission-critical mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting and executing commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle. Participating in the MEP design review process. Supporting troubleshooting activities and resolving technical issues during commissioning. Ensuring compliance with safety requirements, local regulations, and industry standards. Acting as a technical representative for the client while maintaining the highest professional standards. About You We are looking for an experienced and driven professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You bring: A Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. At least 5 years of experience in mechanical commissioning within critical environments. Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heavy mechanical systems. Extensive knowledge of chilled water distribution systems and commercial HVAC systems. Experience with:HVAC cooling systems Chillers and cooling towers AHUs and fan coil units Process water systems and treatment Humidification systems Fuel transfer systems Smoke extraction and pressurization systems Building Management Systems (BMS) SCADA, PLC and EPMS systems Experience interpreting operational data such as temperature and humidity trends. Understanding of communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and Ethernet. Experience working within mission-critical facilities and data center environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a global team environment.
