The role… At Soho House, a Busser is responsible for curating a we organized, clean and structured member and guest experience. A Busser, supports runners, servers and management by cleaning and resetting tables, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates, and bringing guest needs to the attention of waitstaff. They also restock necessary items, such as napkins and straws, and may assist with washing dishes. A successful Busser will be efficient, attentive, and have strong customer service skills. Main Duties * Detail all tables before service begins, ensure place settings are neat and organized and candles are on the tables * Ensure appropriate table setting and china is used for various services throughout the day; breakfast, lunch, dinner or feast service; mis en place (ketchup, salt pepper, HP and sugar bowl). * Stock all stations upon arrival (small plates, sharing plates, water and wines glasses, and all the silverware) and maintain throughout service along with working with your team to keep the bread warmer full and neat * Maintain section and ensure bread and water is delivery upon guests’ arrival while also assisting other sections when applicable * Clear tables plates, silver / glassware between each course and subsequently wipe down and re-set table for new guests * Polish silverware and pot wash are stored according to local standards * Complete side work before and after service (see side work sheets for details) * Making sure the cabinet and shelf in the bar area are full before service (glassware - silverware - plate ware). * Remove all the dirty linen from station and trash is empty and clean Required Skills/Qualifications * 1+ years of experience in similar role * Flexible schedule and open to working weekends / holidays (when needed) * Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. * Detail oriented ability to multitask and deliver results in demanding and fast-paced environments * Basic verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements * Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands. * Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours. * Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others. * Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds. * Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required. The role… At Soho House a Runner is responsible for a range of tasks including preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and servers. A Runner also assists the servers in providing quality hand plated service to all guests who come to Soho House. As a Food Runner, your goal will be to provide our members and guests with outstanding customer service and actively help to improve their overall dining experience. A successful Runner thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem solve in high-pressure situations and remain calm, approachable and professional. Main Duties * Responsible for following Steps of Service set by Soho House & Co that includes but is not limited to; Refill water glasses and coffee cups, clear finished dishes, crumb the table, replenish all table supplies, expedite food orders * Accommodate special requests from guests or alternative solution that better suites business needs or advise management to further assess and provide options * Thrive in high-volume and elevated service environment. The role… At Soho House a Host is one of the first point of contacts for members guests and staff before being seated for their dining experience. As a Host, you are responsible for greeting guests, answering all incoming calls, and creating reservations for the Club or F&B Operation(s)/Restaurant(s). The Host, has acute organizational and people skills which often in infectious and promotes positive experience from the moment anyone arrives up until their departure. Responsibilities also entail excellent service to all guests, members and staff via friendliness, professional, and organizational efficiency. A successful Host, you may be responsible for training other reception team members on process and service standards set at Soho House. As an experienced Host you are required to be able to master our phone system, have a warm and friendly disposition, ensure all anticipated covers are accounted for during service and tables are ready for the reservation’s arrival. Main Duties * Ensure every member and guest is welcomed by name (if local/applicable) and new guests are welcomed with open arms and in a hospitable manner * Answer high-volume phone lines and confidently answer standard Q&A regarding menus, hours of operation and amenity availability/pricing and calls for restaurant, roof and cinema reservations, general inquiries, and deliveries, messages for members and from employees; among other inquiries in full and with complete detail * Create reservations for club/restaurants and assist F&B Managers on the floor with service standards and service execution * Punctuating all calls and interactions with friendliness, accuracy, and discretion * Work with the reception team to ensure excellent service for members and open dialogue is had to manage expectations properly * Build relationships with members and guests and communicate and red flags and positive feedback to management to assess * Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager Required Skills/Qualifications * Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role. * Must have OpenTable and MICROS experience * Must have experience answering high-volume phone lines and answering inquiries professionally, timely and to the best of your abilities. * Problem solving skills and bring conflict resolution to any anticipated or current matter * Detail oriented, articulate and ability to multi-task in a high-volume and demanding work environment * Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions * Flexible schedule and ability to work nights, weekends and holiday’s (as needed) Physical Requirements * Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands. * Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8-10 hours. * Fast paced movements occasionally required to go from one part of the club to others. * Must be able to understand and communicate clearly with guests, members, and coworkers. * Must be able to reach and handle the computer, keyboard, and desktop items. * Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
