Are you our next backend developer?
Come join us at Kivra! We’re looking for people with a passion for software development, love solving problems, and that thrive in
agile development environments. We have grown tremendously and are looking for backend developers to help us scale! You’ll be part
of building a scalable platform using functional languages like Erlang and Elixir.
At Kivra, we are building services that connect over 6 million people, by providing a safe and accessible digital infrastructure
that everyone in Sweden can trust and use. At the same time, we are saving trees - reducing the paper that is printed and
transported - by providing a better digital alternative to physical paper communication.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll join one of Kivra’s feature or platform teams, and work to develop features/services (both new and existing) to meet the
needs, and solve the problems, of our users and senders. Security, reliability, and scalability are three areas we value highly
and that serve as a foundation for our services; and central to the work you’ll do.
Our services deal with large amounts of users, data and transactions daily, and our objective is to do so with 100% availability.
We believe in doing things smart, simple and open source - and this is reflected in our tech stack.
Our platform and core is built on Erlang and Riak. We believe that you are curious about functional programming and are excited
about the idea of working with programming languages such as Erlang and Elixir on a daily basis.
Moreover, we have adopted the Devops Methodology and strongly believe in the “You build it - you own it”-attitude. You will be
actively involved in developing, testing, deploying and incident management, contributing to the overall success of the team. In
that regard we utilize Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, GCP, Kafka, Github, and more.
What we’re looking for
Knowledge is important but so is attitude! Kivra’s culture is strongly influenced by kindness, drive and the desire to produce
high-quality work. How you fit in with your team is super important, and just like us, we believe that you thrive on being nice,
helpful and always encouraging growth.
areas
Moreover, we value previous experience in agile methodology and that you enjoy working within all aspects of agile development. To
solve problems we strive to collaborate and we think that you have the same mindset. Just like us, you are passionate about your
craft and take ownership over your own development. At Kivra, we believe in automation and staying ahead by embracing emerging
technology, and AI is no exception. We're looking for people who take a proactive approach to AI, actively exploring how it can
sharpen their work and help you and the team work smarter.
We offer
Kivra offers a role in a caring and committed team, in a company that is growing and continuously innovating. You’ll join a warm
and friendly culture that thrives on collaboration and teamwork. You will be involved in shaping and influencing a product
currently used by more than half of Sweden’s population.
We offer competitive remuneration and great benefits. Read more about our core values and benefits here:

Our team’s mission is to make that experience feel personal, inspiring, and seamless. We are looking for a collaborative backend engineer to help us build the real-time data pipelines and smart CRM integrations that deliver the right message to the right user at exactly the right time. You'll: * Build & Scale with Node.js: Design and evolve resilient backend services and APIs using Node.js, Nest.js, and GraphQL, keeping our platform fast and reliable. * Connect Our Systems: Lead the technical direction of our CRM and marketing automation integrations. You’ll ensure our data pipelines are secure, scalable, and built to last. * Bring Data to Life: Partner closely with our CRM and Marketing teams to turn user behavioral signals and segmentations into timely, meaningful automated messages. * Collaborate Across Disciplines: Act as a supportive technical partner for non-technical stakeholders, translating complex backend concepts into clear, shared ideas. * Grow Together: Lift the team around you through empathetic mentorship, open knowledge sharing, and contributing to a welcoming, continuous-learning engineering culture. Who we think you are 🤩 We know that excellent engineers come from all kinds of backgrounds. You don’t need to match a rigid checklist, but we think you’ll thrive in this role if: * You have a solid foundation in backend development, with deep experience in Node.js and framework ecoystems like Nest.js. * You enjoy the unique challenges of third-party integrations, API design, and event-driven data flows. * You care just as much about the people you work with as the code you write, you value clear communication, psychological safety and diverse perspectives. * Bonus points (but not required): You’ve worked with Ruby, or you’re curious about experimenting with modern AI tooling like Claude. I am your new manager 👋 Hi! My name is Staffan, and I’ll be your new manager. I’ve been at Hemnet since 2019 and since last year working as Engineering Manager for a domain called Consumers. My leadership style is listening, transparent, accessible, and supportive, while also challenging you to take your next step.
