THE ROLE You will assist a partner with a catastrophic injury caseload on behalf of clients who have sustained serious life-changing injuries - in particular brain injuries, spinal injuries and serious orthopaedic injuries from which a full recovery is unlikely. You will assist in all aspects of a busy and interesting caseload to include: * Meeting with new clients to discuss their case and their concerns to support them through the litigation process. * Liasing with case managers to assist with the provision of timely and high-quality rehabilitation after serious injury. * Supporting clients with referrals for benefits advice to ensure their maximum entitlement and setting up of personal injury trusts to safeguard damages. * Collating and reviewing medical records from various sources to include GPs, treating hospitals and other medical providers. * Organising other items of disclosure clearly and methodically for reference throughout the case. * Visiting witnesses, note taking and drafting witness statements for review and further discussion. * Instructing a range of experts to include liability experts, medical and non-medical experts throughout the claim. * Regular contact with clients in setting up medical assessments and ensuring their safe travel and from appointments. * Attending conferences with Counsel, note taking, reporting on next steps and conducting follow up tasks. * Preparing for Court attendances, attending either alongside Counsel or your supervising Partner, note taking and conducting follow up tasks. * Assisting in the presentation of work in department and team meetings. PERSON SPECIFICATION * Ideally would have some injury and medical claims experience, but not essential * Must have an interest in claimant personal injury work and want to further your career in the area. * Must demonstrate a mature and empathetic approach to seriously injured people * Must be well organised, use initiative, prioritise appropriately, show attention to detail, manage your own workload and meet deadlines * Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills (be respectful, positive, articulate, professional and sympathetic) * Must adopt a “can do” approach, show commercial awareness and represent the department and firm appropriately * Must be reliable, show commitment and be a supportive team player * Must reflect the firm’s culture in your presentation internally and externally. As a Litigation Paralegal, you'll join Coinbase's Litigation team and provide advanced paralegal support across U.S. Consumer Litigation, International Litigation, and Commercial Litigation. This team manages Coinbase's litigation risk globally, handling a high-volume docket spanning multiple jurisdictions and regulatory matters. You'll own critical case management workflows, keep deadlines airtight, and build better processes that help the team scale. What you'll do: * Own matter tracking and case file management across a high-volume docket spanning multiple jurisdictions, ensuring all records are accurate and current. * Execute discovery and trial preparation tasks, including document production, deposition coordination, and exhibit management. * Build improved processes and tooling to reduce manual effort and support the Litigation team's growing caseload. * Support the team in responding to subpoenas, summons, levies, garnishments, and other civil third-party requests. * Drive deadline management by calendaring all case milestones, court dates, and filing deadlines with zero misses. * Partner with outside counsel and government agencies on case logistics, document exchanges, and scheduling. * Manage small claims court matters, including preparing filings, coordinating appearances, and tracking case outcomes across applicable jurisdictions. Required Skills and Experience: * 6+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, including direct experience managing case dockets of 50+ matters across multiple jurisdictions. * Demonstrated ability to handle discovery workflows end-to-end, including e-discovery platforms, document review, and production. * Track record of building or improving operational processes that reduced manual effort or increased accuracy for legal teams. * Experience responding to third-party legal requests such as subpoenas, summons, levies, and garnishments. * Familiarity with litigation involving financial services, cryptocurrency, or technology companies. * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. * Experience handling small claims court matters, including drafting filings and coordinating court appearances.
