Som Head of Information Surveillance leder och utvecklar du NGM:s informationsövervakning. Rollen omfattar övervakning av
emittenternas informationsgivning, strategisk analys av regulatoriska och marknadsmässiga frågor samt ansvar för att arbetet
bedrivs med hög kvalitet, mycket god kontroll och tydlig spårbarhet.

Du rapporterar till bolagets Head of Market Surveillance & Legal. Du kommer att ha ett nära samarbete med handelsövervakningen,
noteringsavdelningen och juridikfunktionen.
Vem är du?
Vi söker dig som har relevant akademisk examen, exempelvis inom juridik eller ekonomi, och gedigen erfarenhet från
marknadsövervakning, informationsövervakning eller liknande roll i finansiellt reglerad verksamhet, exempelvis inom att motverka
penningtvätt. Du har god kunskap, och vill lära dig allt, om aktiemarknadens regelverk och de krav som ställs på bolag i noterad
miljö. Du har erfarenhet av att granska finansiella rapporter, pressmeddelanden och annan offentliggjord information samt förmåga
att bedöma komplexa frågor ur både ett regulatoriskt och marknadsmässigt perspektiv.
För att lyckas i rollen behöver du kombinera strategisk höjd med operativ genomförandekraft. Du kan se utvecklingen framåt,
identifiera vilka frågor som sannolikt uppstår härnäst och omsätta analysen i tydliga prioriteringar och konkreta åtgärder. Du har

The Department of Electric Energy (IEL) at NTNU is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a full-time (100%) PhD position for 3 years as part of the NTNU Energy initiative on Resilient and Integrated Energy Systems. You will join the Electricity Markets and Energy System Planning (EMESP) research group at IEL, where we foster an open, inclusive, and collaborative working environment. About the project Electricity markets are undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by large-scale renewable integration, stronger interconnections, electrification of demand, hydropower flexibility, storage, and increasing balancing needs. These developments strengthen the interaction between market design and physical power-system operation. In Europe and the Nordic region, the transition from traditional capacity-allocation methods towards flow-based market coupling creates new opportunities, but also new challenges related to price formation, congestion management, transparency, welfare distribution, and operational feasibility. The objective of this PhD project is to develop new knowledge, models, and analytical insights into how future electricity market designs can support the efficient and secure operation of low-carbon power systems. The project will focus on market coupling, optimal pricing in market clearing, flow-based capacity allocation, interconnectors modelling, and market-design transformation in Nordic and European electricity markets. The PhD candidate will develop and apply optimization-based market models to analyze how different market-clearing and capacity-allocation methods affect zonal prices, cross-border exchange, congestion rents, welfare distribution, non-fossil flexibility, and system operation. Particular attention will be given to the interpretation of market prices through marginal values, shadow prices, congestion components, scarcity signals, and the relationship between market outcomes and physical network constraints. Regulatory aspects also need to be included through market surveillance and power producer components must embrace the feedback of production aspects. In flow-based market coupling, market outcomes depend strongly on modelling choices related to the representation of the transmission grid, available cross-zonal capacity, operational security constraints, remedial actions, internal grid constraints, and interconnectors. The project may investigate how such assumptions affect the feasible trading domain, price formation, transparency, congestion management, welfare distribution, and the extent to which zonal prices reflect the marginal value of energy and scarce transmission capacity in the context of electricity market design. Methodologically, the project is expected to combine electricity market modelling, social welfare optimization, and scenario-based studies. The work may address key research-frontier questions in flow-based market coupling and related market-design arrangements, including how different capacity-allocation methods and network representations influence the consistency between market outcomes and physical power-system constraints. The PhD candidate will be hosted by the Electricity Markets and Energy Systems Planning (EMESP) group in the Department of Electric Energy at NTNU. The main supervisor will be Professor Hossein Farahmand, with co-supervision from relevant experts in electricity markets, power-system operation, optimization, and market design, depending on the final methodological focus of the PhD project. Duties of the position • Carry out research of high quality within the framework described above • Participate in the activities of the EMESP research group • Complete academic training consisting of coursework corresponding to a minimum of 30 ECTS • Contribute to publications in relevant journals and to popular science dissemination • Participate in international activities such as conferences and/or research stays at foreign educational institutions Career-enhancing work, which is in addition to the research project and doctoral education, may be offered to a candidate who demonstrates clear motivation and ability for such work, and if the Department determines there is a need. Salary and conditions In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be NOK 550 800,- per annum depending on qualifications and seniority. A 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund is deducted from the salary. The employment period is 3 years, with the possibility of an additional 3 to 12 months of employment related to career-enhancing activities. The option for career-enhancing work may be offered to a candidate who has clear motivation and ability for such work, and if the Department deems it necessary. Moreover, a ship design company rarely works with just one ship. It works with an idea of a ship, designs that get evolved, customised, and built each time differently. At any moment, different instances of that idea exist side by side: some still on the drawing board, some under construction, others already operating and sending back streams of sensor data from daily operation. The knowledge that connects these instances, and that connects design, construction, and operation more broadly, rarely lives in one coherent place. It is scattered across documents, tools, and people, out of reach of the AI methods that could otherwise make efficient use of it. This PhD position aims to investigate how such knowledge could be represented so it holds together across many instances and lifecycle phases of a ship, and becomes something AI methods, not only engineers, can work with directly. This includes examining how components, systems, and the dependencies between them might be captured in a shared structure, and comparing candidate approaches, such as ontologies, knowledge graphs, graph databases, or multi taxonomy databases, and the AI techniques needed to build and query them, to see where each fits, where each falls short, and whether a hybrid solution serves better. A good representation should not only describe a vessel as it is, but support AI-assisted inference: surfacing what else is affected by a change, what may be missing from an incomplete design, or what the likely consequences are elsewhere in the vessel. Whether such a representation should fit existing practices and tools, or justify changing them, is itself an open question, to be weighed against the time and value it can bring to the industry. Part of the motivation is that design and operational data, gathered across many vessels and many projects, could form one coherent body of knowledge that AI methods can search and learn from, helping surface relevant precedent and consequences for new designs rather than starting each one from scattered documents and individual experience. Turning that possibility into something concrete is part of the candidate's task, who will narrow this broad research space toward specific applications and evaluate them against real design tasks. The work is carried out in close, ongoing cooperation with the local maritime industry, grounded in real vessels, real data, and real engineering problems. Candidates should be available and able to obtain any necessary clearance to work directly and regularly with the project's industrial partners. About the project The PhD project will be part of the Norwegian Maritime AI Center that aims to accelerate operationalization of AI in the maritime value chains. The center shall position the maritime sector for accelerated and successful use of AI. The demand for safe and sustainable maritime activities, as well as the shortage of crew and engineers, are key drivers for change in the maritime sector. At the same time, there is a pull for growth, increased efficiency and profitability, while managing volatility in the markets. Moreover, the sector is critically important for global supply chains and security in a tense geopolitical situation. To demonstrate and prototype maritime AI solutions, the center will address a diverse and impactful set of use cases: Logistics, shipping and business transactions; Ship design and construction; Voyage planning and optimization; Condition monitoring and maintenance; Crew training; Maritime traffic and ship surveillance; Decarbonization and energy management; Autonomous ships and remote control. The research partners are the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, (NTNU), University of Oslo, Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Royal Norwegian Naval Academy, Norwegian Mapping Authority, MET and SINTEF Nordvest. There are about 30 user partners from the maritime sector, in addition to hundreds of members of the Maritime Forum, Blue Maritime, Ocean Autonomy, and Maritime CleanTech clusters. The center will be a hub, orchestrating the interfaces with research partners and user partners to facilitate collaboration, knowledge creation, dissemination, innovation, and sharing of knowledge. (delete if not applicable) Salary and conditions In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be NOK 550 800,-per annum depending on qualifications and seniority. A 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund is deducted from the salary. The employment period is 3 years for the doctoral work.
