Nordic Manager - Power System Engineering Team

As our new Engineering Manager you'll join the Money Core team based in Aarhus, reporting to Girish, working to keep the systems that power Lunar's banking products reliable, scalable, and ahead of what's next. What will you do? * Lead 1-2 cross-functional engineering teams — setting direction, removing blockers, and creating the conditions where engineers can do their best work. * Drive the technical strategy for Core Banking, translating where the industry is heading into concrete decisions about how we build and ship. * Partner with Product and other business teams to make sure technical priorities connect directly to what matters for customers. * Own engineering quality end-to-end — from development practices to deployment — and raise the bar on how we build reliable, scalable systems. * Shape how AI becomes a consistent part of how your teams work, moving from ad-hoc experimentation to embedded, high-impact practice. What are we looking for in you? * 2-3 years of experience leading engineering teams, with a track record of enabling strong individual contributors and technical leads to shape direction — not directing from above, but creating space for others to do their best thinking. * Solid infrastructure expertise — you understand how systems are built, hosted, and scaled, and you've worked through the architectural trade-offs that come with it. * Familiarity with hosting cost optimisation and the decisions that drive infrastructure spend up or down. * A working understanding of how data and AI intersect in a modern engineering org, and what it takes to build teams that use AI tools effectively. * Strategic clarity in a transformative moment — comfortable setting direction when the landscape is shifting, and able to bring your team along. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Lead, support, and develop a distributed group of iOS, Android, and Web engineers through coaching, feedback, growth planning, and clear role expectations. * Foster an inclusive and accountable environment where employees and consultants across locations have context and support. * Maintain visibility of capability, ownership, staffing needs, consultant dependency, and succession risks across the client-side engineering domain. * Support engineering strategy execution by partnering with product and tech leadership. * Surface technical debt, quality risks, release risks, infrastructure constraints, and operational needs early to enable informed decisions. * Strengthen engineering standards around maintainability, observability, security, performance, and operational excellence. * Help teams balance platform-specific excellence with cross-platform alignment where it improves user experience, delivery efficiency, quality, or maintainability. WHAT YOU BRING You combine people leadership with the technical understanding needed to support iOS, Android, Web, and user-facing product trade-offs. You create clarity in complex environments and help teams improve how they work. * Experience leading, coaching, mentoring or developing engineers. * Experience working with distributed or hybrid engineering teams. Previous management experience in this setup is a plus. * Understanding of modern software delivery practices and the quality needs of user-facing products. * Understanding of mobile release processes and the quality assurance needs of mobile releases. * Ability to balance engineering standards with team autonomy. * Ability to explain engineering trade-offs, risks, and constraints clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Clear communication and relationship-building skills. * Cost-conscious approach to staffing, tooling, infrastructure, and technical decisions. * Professional-level English communication skills. Swedish is beneficial. BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE * Experience leading mixed teams of employees and consultants. * Experience working with iOS, Android, Web, frontend, mobile release processes, web conversion flows, playback or listening experiences, experimentation, design systems, accessibility, or app-store release cycles. * Experience with subscription, media, audio, video, consumer products, or multi-market organisations. * Experience improving release confidence, production quality signals, test strategy, analytics instrumentation, frontend performance, or developer experience. * Experience supporting AI-assisted engineering, experimentation capability, or engineering productivity improvements.
