Temporary Overnight Client Safety Navigator - Women's HOPE

This is a union eligible position.   This is a Temporary position.    JOB SUMMARY HealthRIGHT 360, a family of programs, is located across 13 different counties in California. HealthRIGHT 360 provides an array of medical and behavioral health services to some of the most marginalized populations, ranging from primary care, mental health services, detox, substance use disorder treatment in both residential and outpatient settings, and transitional services for the criminal justice population.   This Women’s HOPE residential program offers specialized care to the underserved female population of San Francisco, including low-income African American and Latina women and their families/children, with a special focus on pregnant and parenting women with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders. The program is gender-responsive and trauma informed, addressing substance use, trauma, mental illness, health and wellness, family reunification, parenting education, employability, homelessness, and sober living skills. The team of providers at Women’s HOPE includes parenting counselors, therapists, and SUD counselors who provide wrap around services to support and empower our participants as they reach toward their goals.   Overnight Client Safety Navigators are responsible for maintaining and assessing the safety and security of the program and its residents while providing a supportive treatment environment. Through effective communication, Overnight Client Safety Navigators relay relevant information to other members of the interdisciplinary team and perform crisis interventions as needed. Overnight Client Safety Navigators ensure that the treatment environment is safe and welcoming.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Safety and Security Responsibilities: * Remains alert and awake during the entire overnight shift. * Performs house runs to ensure and maintain accountability of all clients and the safety and security of the facility. * Coordinates fire watch with residents. * Performs crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. * Documents client updates and incidents in the facility log daily. * Performs CPR and First Aid as needed. May work weekends and holidays as needed. Treatment Setting Responsibilities: * When assigned the DOT (Directly Observed Therapy), documents, and accurately distributes client money, ensures client medications is securely stored and properly accounted for and hold facility keys and floater cellular phones.  * Ensure all house laundry is completed. * Appropriately files any outstanding paperwork. Maintains tracking sheet and sends to the appropriate departments before the end of the shift. * Attends required trainings and meetings. And perform other duties as assigned.    QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certification, and Experience * High School diploma or equivalent. * CPR Certified within 30 days of employment. * First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment. * Experience working with the criminal justice population preferred. * Registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS preferred.   Knowledge * Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population. * Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications. * Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency. * Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

SUD Counselor (On-Call) - Pomona Women's Center

By integrating physical and behavioral health, we empower individuals to overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery.   Prototypes is one of the nation’s leading behavioral healthcare providers and is a “prototype” for such organizations. Prototypes Women's Center in Pomona is a 180-bed residential facility tailored specifically to women, including those who wish to involve their children in their journey to recovery. Our program aims to assist women in maintaining their progress in overcoming co-occurring disorders through a wide range of supportive services. Children can foster a secure attachment with their mothers in a secure setting, while also accessing mental health support and educational assistance. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals provides comprehensive treatment for substance use disorders and mental health, parenting, educational, and life skills courses. Treatment can range from 60 days to 6 months.   The On-Call SUD Counselor I is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team, providing client-centered support on an as-needed basis to ensure continuity of care. This role helps fill critical gaps in service delivery, supporting clients in maintaining progress in their treatment and recovery journey. Responsibilities include assessing clients' needs and strengths, providing individual and group counseling, facilitating evidence-based curricula in accordance with program-specific requirements, and offering case management services. The Counselor also assists clients in navigating systems of care while fostering a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Treatment Setting * Provide individual counseling sessions to clients on an as-needed basis, in alignment with existing treatment plans and program requirements. * Facilitate group counseling sessions and community meetings as scheduled or in place of absent staff. * Support client engagement by linking them to internal and external resources based on identified treatment needs. * Deliver educational classes and structured programming on treatment-related topics to support client recovery goals. * Collaborate with treatment team members to review, update, and maintain treatment and transition plans, progress notes, and other clinical documentation, as appropriate. * Perform crisis intervention and communicate critical updates to the treatment team to support client stability. * Monitor and document client progress during coverage periods and ensure thorough handoff to regular staff. * Assist in the monitoring and documentation of client medication administration when applicable. * Ensure secure handling and proper documentation of medications while on duty. * Accompany clients to offsite appointments when required and authorized. * Assign client duties and sign off upon completion, ensuring clients stay engaged in their treatment process. * Motivate clients to fulfill their weekly obligations and stay on track with their treatment goals. * Support the intake process, ensuring all required documentation and supplies are maintained for smooth operation. * Collect, clean, and dispose of biohazard waste in accordance with program policies. * Disinfect and clean client rooms, common areas, and program spaces to ensure a safe, sanitary environment. Safety and Security * Maintain safety and security of clients in the facility. * Perform periodic house runs. * Perform property and room searches. * Respond to medical emergencies including overdoses. * Perform substance use tests such as urinalysis and breathalyzer. * Observe clients and maintain observation logs. Documentation * Document group and individual counseling sessions in a timely manner per program and/or contract requirements. * Accurately enter data in electronic systems. * Document client updates and incidents daily. * Complete and maintain all documentation in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements. * Complete discharge paperwork and agency assessments. * Maintain logs of client contacts. * Read and respond to communications in a timely manner. Administration and Other Duties * Attend and actively participate in meetings. * Meet residential service delivery goals. * Plan and facilitate celebrations and special events. * Work on weekends and holidays as needed. * Complete assigned training in a timely manner. * Maintain full compliance with credential requirements. And perform other assigned duties.   QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certification, or Licensure * High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred. * Registration as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor from an accredited California agency (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP). * Valid First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.   Experience * Experience as a registered substance abuse or behavioral disorder counselor or recovery specialist in community mental health or residential setting preferred.
